Hi ET ladies,

This seems to be the only place where i can find an answer to my question regarding ET. Are there any nurseries in the towers. has anyone of you put their kids/babies?

Pizza wrap are opening in two weeks - I walked past today and was invited in for a free muffin and bowl of ice cream. Yum! Will definately be back to try their pizza.
And there's activity up the end in what I assume was supposed to be a hotel. Intriguing

Are there any other stay at home mums with little ones looking for company? My 9 month old is at that age where she'd love to play with other babies/toddlers, but the maids with kids don't seem to be that approachable.

Hi Ladies,
I am considering a place between JLT and Executive Towers.
Do members here have experience of both . I am getting a Chiller free place in JLT .
Can members pls assist in making a decision. The appartments are whole lot bigger in Executive towers though. But considering the surroundings JLT is v serene .

Any thoughts appreciated.
Rgds

I'm so glad it's not just me that is frustrated at this! I honestly don't even see the point of the detour. Like you said, it had better not be permanent!!!

Makes my blood boil!!!!!! Better not be permanent, especially of it means we have to drive through the supermarket traffic!

Nope - but that would be pretty cool!

Is anybody else as annoyed at me about the detour that the West Heights residents now have to do via the East Heights to exit Exec?? I cant even begin to explain to you how much that annoys me, especially as I watch the traffic light switch from green to red and the car infront of me is going at about 2kph!!!

Thanks Chelle11, we are really sad as we like living there especially with all the shops opening now, its going to be a good place to live, but not if you want to use your terrace its been horrible for a while, those pictures in the lobby are from my garden from a 2 day period when i decided not to clean it up. A table has been smashed when something large was chucked over. The worst thing is I assume because of the nappies the main culprits have children and surely they would not want their children playing in other kids dirty nappies? and its the night time nappy that gets thrown over every day, why cant it go down the chute??

Smiler01 I cannot believe people are doing this! We have signs up in our lobby and lifts telling them to stop it - but it just aamazes me that this needs to be said!! Apart from being disgusting behaviour it's dangerous! I really feel for you not being able to use your outdoor area - and having to clean up after other disgusting people!!

Ladies your help is needed because we are at our wits end, if you live on a high floor and either your maid or you throw the following items off your balcony please please can you stop. Pregnancy tests (negative ones) Dora night time pampers nappies (used) other very unsavoury items, blonde hair dye colour, pistachios but shells, dirty used tissues, a oak cake sort of dish, and finally lit cigarette ends. My daughter cannot play outside in our garden, she has nearly been burnt by cigarettes and she really shouldn't have to play around other children's dirty nappies. I don't know why anyone would think its ok to throw their rubbish out over their balcony? I am sure it isn't an expatwoman but if you know someone who does is please ask them to stop. Sorry for my lengthy rant but we can take no more it's unhygienic and really not very nice.

Ladies. I am passing through the long corridor that runs from spinneys during daytime on weekdays sometimes. Every time I see maids/ nannies in groups of 2-4-6, sitting on the benches inside, chatting to each other, for endless hours. Meanwhile kids are playing on the empty corridor. Sometimes they have small bikes or push-toys, sometimes they are just pushing their strollers, or even worse, many times they are just seated in the stroller. The maids / nannies do keep an eye on them, they are not in danger or anything as I observed. However! Would not it be healthier and more fun for the kids to play in the green grassy areas upstairs, at the fresh air? It is just so sad to see all those kids crawling on the empty corridor.
No judgement here, I just wanted to make sure you are aware that your kid may be spending half of the morning every day on a corridor...

I've just come back from a walk and saw that Bobs Fish and Chips and Jinja both have their boarding down. Not long now by the looks of it.
I do wish they'd get a mine on with the parking/roads out the front coz I'm desperate for them to start on the back...fingers crossed they really are going to put in a playground!!

I've seen a nonstop carousel of delivery guys leaving from Slice Pizza on a weekend evening. They were clever enough to have people handing out free slices outside Spinneys for weeks.

We're big fans of Rumi. While I was away my kids ordered dinner from there a number of times. I've had their breakfasts to and was very happy with it. The service is quite slow unfortunately though.

I do worry about how all the different restaurants/cafes will survive, but hope that once the surrounding towers open up that they will provide a larger customer base.

Anyone else feel really sorry for these restaurants that are always empty?? I wonder how long it will take for them to shut down and move to a different location? I went into Auntie Anne's a few days ago, it was around 5pm on a Saturday - the guy showed me the sales of the day, he had 3 receipts!!!

We tried the new pizza place that opened last night (The Pizza Guys) -- it's opposite and one level up from Donner Express, and it was FABULOUS!

New restaurant! It looks like it's going to be open any day now -- I walked by yesterday and saw a bunch of staff in uniform, looks like maybe they were going thru some training or something. It's upstairs (right above Donner Express).

Just to let you know that the road that leads down from Millenium Tower, past the Dubai Mall Metro Station and into Emaar Square is back open!!! Woohoo for me!!! Maybe I can finally save on some Salik?!

Ignore all the signs that say that the road is closed as these have not been taken down yet, but I promise you that the road is very much open and the barriers have been completely removed as the metro walkway is now close to completion.
