Just like art, makeup can be so much more than what meets the eye. And that’s what talented Instagram artists are proving with a latest eye makeup trend called - trompe l'oeil makeup.

For those who need to google (we did too) - Trompe-l'œil is basically French for ‘deceive the eye'. It's an art technique that uses realistic imagery to create perspective bending designs so vivid and real, they almost trick the human eyes,

While a bunch of Insta-taught makeup bloggers are experimenting with trompe l'oeil makeup, Tal Peleg — an Israeli makeup artist is taking the trophy away. Her elaborate eye makeup with our favourite fairytale characters like Rapunzel, Cinderella, Little Riding Hood and Frozen's Elsa is so on-fleek you would want to watch the movies — all over again!

But unless you've won every gold medal in school art competitions, have tonnes of makeup to spare and have absolutely nothing to do with your weekend, we suggest you just marvel at her art and not try it at home.

Tal Peleg isn't the only trompe l'oeil makeup artist who is slaying the game. Stefania – a 16-year-old artist from London – has replicated paintings by Monet and Vincent Van Gough.
