There is also Sew it in Jumeriah Center on the beach road. They can sew on anything at a quater (or less) of the price of Pottery Barn and you get it the same day. I have had lots of things embroided from there. Highly recommended. (They also sew in arabic calligraphy which is very cool) Hope your cushion turn out great. Cheers! Thanks Scandi!

I saw the building, it's near geant and it looks like most floors on one side were burned. I hope no one was injured.

I know Beebers, 2nd fire in Tecom. DH says its the cladding on the buildings that's unsafe. She did see the fire herself and described it as 5 vertical rows of units and not the entire floors. oh no. :( so it's still burning. gosh I hope no one is injured. How many buildings in Tecom are "unsafe," I wonder?? Similar problems with fires in Sharjah have also been reported and I think all new developments since earlier this year must pass stricter requirements. I remember reading about it after a whole building burned down in Sharjah earlier this year or last year.?

My housemaid just turned up and I live in the greens. Apparently there's a fire in Tecom and about 5 levels in one section of the building are up in flames and possibly rising. Not sure of which building, hope others in the area will know more and none are injured. I have just driven out of the Greens and cannot see anything at all? She comes in a bus from MOE so not sure which side of Tecom.

Mothercare Dubai mall has a few but not the whole range and we bought an isofix stage 1 Britax from there. Worth giving them a call or try carseat.nl I think? They ship here and could be cheaper than dxb retail prices.

I've also seen a Boogie Babies class at Organic Foods in Dubai Mall. She could call them to ask if it's still running. I was there by chance today and they seemed to have 3 classes back to back for different ages running. I'm pretty certain EW does mums and tots meet ups closer to dxb mall too

I ordered custom sizes for my toddler's bed and trundle from Intercoil in Barsha just off SZR. They have a range just for kids. Quality seems decent - we've been using them for a few months now. Thanks for the tip. I called them and we will go and have a look. Did you take internal measurements of the PB bed frame? We also got the trundle so will need a low profile mattress for that piece too.

I need to get my hands on the shred! I was going to do Tracy Anderson which is similar but when I got my gear on a few days ago and stuck the hard drive in the tv to do my workout, our drive was corrupted from printing monkey bathroom art at the Kodak shop!! I live in the greens. Can anyone help to get me back on track?

We pay 2700, 2k for salary, 500 for accomm and 200 for transport. She also babysits once a week bringing it to just over 3k per month. She's great in her work, lovely with my kids and happy every day. I think starting live out salaries are 2500.

I was a bed wetter when I started school at 5 or so. Mum says I stopped wearing nappies from 10 months but when I started school my bladder was too weak and I was too tired to wake up in the night. Pediatricians back in the day, early 80s said no to alarms due to any negative feelings i may associate with it but did suggest to get me to track the days I was wet or not. This part I remember clearly because every morning I would wake and mark the outcome on the calendar and for consecutive nights, I'd be rewarded. Give this approach a go and after a month or two you'll start to see improvements hopefully. edited by Angie Mar on 01/06/2012

Nomad and DubaiCat - I'm very sorry for the loss of your loved ones. I found these resources to help you and your family deal with grief at our local clinic earlier today and thought of you both: Grief support group Who: children, teens and adults who have experienced the death of someone significant to them. When: 6-7pm on the second Monday of every month Where: the Raymee Grief Center at the Lighthouse Arabia Clinic, villa 2, Umm Suquiem 2, Jumeirah Beach Rd There is no charge to attend these groups Contact: [email protected] +97143809298 www.lighthousearabia.com/raymeegrief.html There is also a free session called willing witness: supporting a grieving partner tomorrow from 5.30-7pm presented by a clinical psychologist but I'm sure they will hold the same or similar at later dates too. Hope this helps, even a little.

At 32 weeks my baby was transverse breech and dr Elsa suggested to spend as much time on all fours crawling after my toddler as gravity tends to help too. By week 35 when I saw her again my baby had turned. Dubai herbal treatment centre near latifa hospital has the sticks I think.

Did anyone miss this today? I have sent this email to marina mall management and hope more of you ladies can put pressure to have these games removed: I was at your mall earlier today and while my 2 year old son was waiting for the train, he was staring at the terminator video game which was full of gore and violence thanks to sega. I am furious that he was unwillingly and without my consent exposed to something that is far from suitable for young audiences. The ground floor was teaming with mums and young children and I think you need to ensure the safety of your younger visitors before allowing something like an "adult content" game to be visible to eyes that it's not geared for. They cannot go to an R rated movie or buy a game then why on earth is it ok to have a giant screen with it!?

We walked out of there a couple months ago because they were hopeless. No one knew what they were supposed to be doing, we came thru emergency and scores of people who turned up after us thru the general entrance were allowed ahead. Total disaster and paid for the privilege. My son who had diarrhoea at the time too needed a nappy as we had run out and the paediatrics clinic only had size 1 and adult diapers.. Not sure if they're any better now but we wasted 2 hrs and walked out furious. Save yourself the hassle and go to city. Our paed said he knows another 4 couples who walked out too.

Thanks Angie Mar. Went to Bumble Bee today and they did have the Airwrap but unfortunately not the one that suits my cot :( I bought the one they had though thinking I might be able to make it work, but it won't work. So if anyone is looking for an Airwrap, I have one to suit a cot that has slats on all 4 sides. I have both types and the 4 sided one I had brought in from Oz and the solid sides version I bought online from a uk store. You should be able to shop and ship or have one sent from an online store?

Really?? I was really happy with it this time around and it was packed full of bioderma products and other goodies. I gave birth at the start of October so I would follow up why they suddenly stopped.. As for the painkillers, I used to visit the nurses station as soon as it was time to dispense more if they didn't come in time! I didn't have a c section but had bad pelvic pain and contractions post birth and couldn't stand without a belly band either.

I would rather gouge my eyes out than attempt a night flight with small children again. :D I third that! Travelled last Xmas with a 9 month old to australia, going there was any ordinary day as it was a day flight but the return was leaving local time 11pm and it was the flight from h3ll! he didn't fit in the bassinet which only made him even more cranky and when I put him on the floor in desperation I was told to remove him immediately. Many hours of never-ending tears and screams for us and projectile puke bc he was so worked up. If you can avoid it, don't fly at night unless they're brand new babies!!

Not sure you'd be allowed to stay indefinitely unless you do visa runs until you find a job as you only get 30 days as a tourist on arrival. I came out here solo almost 5 years ago but had made sure I had a signed contract and job commencing within a day of arrival. The company paid for shipping of personal effects up to $1500 and put me up in a hotel for 2 weeks and my ticket over here if I recall correctly. I would make solid contacts first as the job market isnt what it used to be and make sure you come cashed up as set up costs are quite high too. Not trying to rain in your parade but make sure you know as much as you can before you land jobless and without a decent stash of savings.

Hey DC, we found your situation to be true only a couple days after bringing DS2 home from the hospital. We realised pretty quickly he was desperate for attention so I made sure he got lots of it even when I should've been resting or sleeping and within days our calm and soft natured boy was back. The solution we found with the Moses basket is that we didn't bother with the stand but rather put the basket in the cot so there's no way he can reach the baby. The bassinet on the pushchair is quite high too and that works for us too. Always try and reinforce the softly approach and when Will shows signs of jealousy, get DH to prop him up next to you for a cuddle and kiss. HTH, it will get better, especially once you're able to do more as you heal.

Thanks ladies!! Baby boy is now 2 weeks old and DS1 is 19 months today... DS2 is a dream baby and waits ever so patiently to be fed, changed, etc while DS1 turned into a whiny little terror!! He's doing better now that I'm dedicating loads of potential rest time to having 1 on 1 quality time and that's a big relief for all.. Birth story to follow when I have a little more time and energy but needless to say I had a wonderful stress free pregnancy with an even better delivery. City hospital, the maternity nurses and Dr. Elsa were all brilliant and the services flawless! Couldn't be happier and on cloud 9 with the wee little man..

I know its super pricey but have you looked at the Bugaboo Donkey? I have just got it for my twins and love love LOVE it. its designed to also be for 2 babies/children of different ages. John Lewis UK have an export department and it works out the same price to have it delivered here to your door as it does to buy it there because of the VAT deduction. Although you do need to pay a customs fee to the Aramex man when its delivered. Farasha, do you know how much you paid? The retailers here have no pricing info yet.

Saying that, the lighter Peach looked promising, but too late, I'd got my P&T and loved it. Peach.... dammit, I should have tried that one out! Just kidding had it a couple weeks back. I still have bugaboo donkey envy but DH thinks 9k is excessive unless I decide it's an absolute must. He got me a maid instead!

I've seen the shop - it's opposite costa in Mercato but don't recall the name. Worth a trip though, they seem to have lots of blingy onesies and tutus. I have a DS so didn't bother stepping inside for a better look.
