Thanks WG! Some specialist advice would be good. I am not looking for an investor just someone to help grow my business as I have the ideas but need help putting them in practice. I can be contacted on Stylex1 : thank you so much for your interest but I will hold off just now until I get things a little more sorted. edited by Jussie on 04/08/2014

These are all very valid points Wednesday genius and ones I have not given much thought too! ( hence the need for another set of brains on board) Perhaps I should look into offering a part time position with Salary after all. Thank you both for your feedback. PS I tried to give you a thumbs up WG and it displayed as a thumbs down - not my intention I assure you ?

How do I go about this as I don't have a salary to offer etc. I am looking for someone like minded to come on board and join an already established company, maybe even invest. I am not sure where or how to advertise this. Any Advice/Idea's welcome TIA edited by Jussie on 03/08/2014

Thanks for getting back to me Fiat500. I THINK I have either Tunisian GG or Sulcata's!! They have been ID'd as such on 2 separate tortoise protection websites, so I am getting a little confused. I can send you some pics if you are up for the challenge ;-) Thanks again!

Sorry to hijack and unearth an older thread but I am on the look out for advice and posted the below on the pet section with no luck:-( perhaps either of you could help? Hi, Calling experienced tortoise owners?? I would like advice on keeping your torts healthy during the ridiculously hot summer over here,. Do you leave them out over night and have rats proved a problem? I have two hatchlings/babies (around 9mths) That currently go into their secure outside pen during the day but I bring them in a night. Any advice welcome! Thx Rate it00

Hi champagneblonde, That is the million dollar question!! When we received them we were told Desert tortoise!! I have posted pictures on a few tortoise web groups and the two possibilities are sulcata's or Tunisian GG... Think I got those right! They seem very content outside and go happily into their caves and burrow to keep themselves cool but I feel like I then disturb them to bring them in, however, I live in the ranches and am paranoid about rats :-(

Hi Spiritedaway, Do you own the property? If so, could you split the 2nd bedroom into 2 box rooms? If not, how about creating a temporary partition in your room, as it may be just your daughter wants her own space. Something like this? http://www.houzz.com/photos/4954939/The-home-of-Karianne-contemporary-kids-amsterdam Good luck!

Hi SJ01, I have a wonderful woman coming to our rescue today, who will take her until owner is found. I took her to the Vet yesterday and they could not find a microchip on her. I think she is around 6-7 mths but find it hard to tell!! Definitely a kitten as she is extremely playful :-) she is predominately white with tabby/tortoiseshell patches. Hopefully this will have a happy ending and thanks for your support.

Hi Sarahjane01 I have asked to join binkittycollective FB page and will post as soon as I can. I feel so bad for the little thing as she is in my downstairs bathroom (although quiet) I cannot let her out unsupervised as my other animals are not impressed. I really hope to find her family or even a foster home ASAP. She is such a cute thing and looks to have been an indoor cat.

Hi Tigerente, Glad to read you are feeling motivated. When was the last time you had your labs done? Often with thyroid issues/AI's your results show you as being 'within' the normal range (what ever that means) but yet you still display symptoms. Continue to do your research! There are many ways to treat your particular symptoms without needing medication. Don't be shy about taking charge of your own health. Good luck to you.

You are right iveranodxb! Vast majority of people (Dr's included) do not think of your auto-immune condition as separate to your hypothyroidism and that lifestyle changes like diet, stress management, gut health or refuelling brain chemistry can actually help with encouraging the Immune response to calm itself. When dealing with any chronic illness, I strongly believe that healing from within will give you the improvements your are looking. It certainly makes taking the synthetic meds a lot easier and usually lowers the dose in the process!!

You are so welcome Dubaidesertbear! As you will already be aware, having hypothyroidism and also Hashimoto's can be very difficult to manage. I had Hashimoto's first, which in turn led to my hypothyroidism. So treating my auto-immune has always been my priority and has now become a passion (and career) to help others do the same. Good luck to you all.

Hi Lynn66, Firstly, I think we might no one another personally;) and secondly, I would NOT advise you to take your 75yr old mother off all medications! but perhaps in time, you can certainly try to crowd a lot of them out. Osteoporosis has recently been discovered to have an autoimmune component to it, does your mother have rheumatoid arthritis? I would personally get your mother's Vit D levels checked, as I would imagine the are on the low side. Combined with her age, where she is living and your brief description of her well being, Vit D therapy will help in many ways. It is actually a hormone and will help her body absorb as much calcium as possible from digestion, it will also help with the pain and also the inflammation she is experiencing. If your mother is anything like my mother, a complete diet overhaul in 3 weeks will send her into a tailspin but as the previous poster quite rightly pointed out, a plant based diet is favourable but, again if there are other autoimmune conditions present, then the guidance of a nutritionist/health coach would be a good idea. Your mother cannot rebuild the bone that has or may have already crumbled but you can help her to strengthen what she does have. So, In the meantime lots of sardines/trout,flax seed oil and green leafy veg in her diet will help. Weight bearing exercise is advisable, so walking and Yoga are good, swimming will help take the pressure off and encourage agility. However, I think you will find spending time with a loving daughter will see an improvement, sounds cheesy but with having lots of family around with laughter and sunshine you will be amazed how someone's well being can improve. Hope this helps and good luck:)

Zeynab, I was on 50mcg and increased to 75mcg before my 1st successful pregnancy and then moved again up to 100mcg prior to my 2nd successful pregnancy. I am sorry I am not able to tell you what is the best course of action for you personally, Your Dr is the only one that can, but I hope in sharing this info it will give you hope. Good luck and I wish you all the best in your quest.

Hi Zeynab, I have conceived and have given birth to two very healthy children since being on Eltroxine. I sadly MC my first pregnancy when I was newly diagnosed. I have been extremely lucky as I have had/still have some wonderful Dr's since I was diagnosed 9yrs ago. As a result, I now specialise in Thyroid Issues as a nutritionist/health coach. Firstly, your thyroid blood tests will generally not show any change in level within 6 weeks of changing your dose so .. by the time you found out you are pregnant and you change the dosage your body will not experience the benefit until 4-6weeks later. Many Dr's increase dosage before conception for that reason. This needs to be done under the strict guidance of a Dr as too much dosage making you hyper can also have a detrimental effect. You also mention antibodies - do you have Hashimoto's?? Are you seeing a Dr here in DXB?

Hi, Firstly, Apologies for my ignorance as I know absolutely nothing in this area! I had/have my own little website but the company that built it for me are no longer working.... also, in the meantime I have had children and took time off, so never used it. Obviously when I type the URL address/domain name in nothing comes up as it is not active. It had all my info and photo's etc on it and i have visions of it just floating around in cyber space!!!!! Can it be re activated and used once again? Or do I need it rebuilt? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. TIA

Hi Shazman, I used teach an after school activity and in order for me to work in a school, with the schools pupils, I had to be insured ( come under the schools insurance) and for that to happen I had to be legal. I had a trade license and everything was extremely professional. This was 3 years ago now but, I think where children are concerned it is better to keep everything above board so to speak. Good luck.

Agree with all the websites listed. I also traced my father's family tree back to the 1500's and like Hello.Again.Kitty it was from finding a family member who had already researched it! It has been such an interesting journey with ancestors all over the world, currently my research is taking my mother's side of the family back to India! Good luck and if you need any help please ask. Good morning to you Sticky Wicket:) I did in fact tell the OP to contact her homeopath! Yassy did just that and the rest of the response is about her homeopath's response and not mine. Each to their own with regard to Homeopathy being money making quackery:) Yassy, glad your Homeopath is explaining the process to you. Do keep her informed and trust your instincts, if you feel something is very wrong then, of course see a regular Dr. Good luck with the rest of your Detox and I hope you will see a marked improvement in your skin:) Wishing you both a nice day.

Sure, although I now treat myself unless I have something I cannot figure out but, I have been to quite a few over the years :-) and found all to be great Dr's. However, my all time favourites where/are Dr Ryan Penny ( he no longer see's patients) and Dr Sofie Skogen. I have also seen Dr Brenda and Dr Sean Penny ( both DHTC) and finally Dr lanelle. All homeopaths will practice in a slightly different way as they are treating you as an individual and your symptoms.. its not all about your illness with Homeopaths and that is what makes it brilliant in my mind. ( can you tell I am studying this topic;-)

I am a firm believer in homeopathic medicine and use it on all my family members. Your symptoms certainly sound encouraging! I would talk to your homeopath again as she would be grateful to hear of your progress. You sound like you are experiencing detox already so I would say it is indeed working :-) Good luck to you.
