The same thing happened to me with my first kid at 37 weeks and second at 38 weeks. I was induced in both of them since I didn't start laboring at all. I remember very well with my first that I carried a very heavy thing from above the cabinet till the floor. With second my first baby was crying and throwing her pacifier all the night and I had to search under her crib several time up and down. In both cases my water ruptured after less than 24 hours. I learned my lesson and avoided any heavy weight lifting or any vigorous movement in the last trimester and I cooked my boy till 40+ week and went into labour and my water was broken by doctor. Could it be the same with you?

I'm so sorry for your loss Marroosh. I eat a lot when in stress, and when things improves I continue eat because I'm used to. You really need to break the cycle and I love the fasting idea suggested by smartee. Hugs Xx

Hi Marroosh. Sometimes constant hunger could be sign of underlying problem, so maybe it is better to get it check initially. Now if everything is ok and it is just the eating, here is what I found very helpful: 1- Eating is a habit. Break the cycle and count your calories for lets say a month. Personally I stick to the 1500kcal. When you are used to it, you would notice that you don't crave food as before. 2- Water is your best friend. Big glass before any food. 3- healthy snacks: cucumber and lettuce have very low calories. Keep them ready and eat them whenever you ' itch' for eating. 4- Coffee works wonder for me. I can't eat after drinking it. 5- small changes make wonder: 1.5 spoon of sugar instead of 2. Low fat instead of full. Half milk half water instead of full milk. 6- don't think of it as dieting. Think it is a lifestyle. If your friends are dining out, go and enjoy. Try to choose healthier option and if not possible just enjoy and you can always work it out later. ( as long it is once in a while). 7- Also ( My fitness Pal) is excellent to make you figure how much are you eating. It is eyes opening to know how much small piece of food has calories. These steps helped me to loose my 3 baby's weight and I hope it will be helpful for you. edited by cafelate on 21/01/2015

Most of the serious and complicated children cases end up in Latifa Hospital or Dubai Hospital. Both are running by government of Dubai. Now if you are asking about a good pediatrian for out- patient visit, then there are many in private.

I don't post slot since I hate to log in and come back to topic, but I couldn't ignore this! Please take her to GP and ask him/her to test your daughter for Diabetes Insipidus. I'm not saying she has it, but drinking a lot, peeing a lot and gaining weight are suggestive symptoms and it is common in this age group. I hope you will find an answer soon.

Hi ladies, Any insight on this would be highly appreciated. Do you know if it is possible to change the status of a maid on domestic visa to a another position? We need a cleaner in our office and there is a nice lady who just finished her contract as a maid and willing to join us. Her previous employer is ok with that and ready to give NOC. Any idea if that is ok?

It would be great if you use all the organic and natural products that the ladies suggested below. I'm a mother of three and I swear by extra virgin olive oil and Vaseline! However I still use the products in supermarket! I would say it varies from child to another. What would work with one baby at one time may not work with other or at different time. Why not to buy small bottle from one brand and try it when baby is there and then decide? The best product is the one which is always available and budget friendly. This could be your start point!

May I ask you why you want to take her to psychologist? Is there something else that makes you worry? Is she going to day care or staying alone with a nany or maid? Actually these accidents are not worth worry, but the way you are describing the episodes makes me feel that you are worry from something else.

Apicrot, Thank God it's only MIL & FIL. All others are outside UAE except for his sister and she doesn't visit often. Defiantly I will be ordering this time. Thanks for the suggestion. E are in the same bought, the only thing that made me accept it is my husband's appreciation. But I'm getting frustrated and I don't think this healthy for our relation. Maroosh, I got your point. Nothing will be solved by writing on EW, but at least I feel better now. I can't believe you got thump down for saying that! Oopsiedaizy, It would be fun to see how they will manage to accept guests in such short notice. They should know this feeling! Stylex1, my parents live in AD, we visit them once a month. When they plan to come over they call and arrange weeks before. Having some relatives here is nice for the kids. But assuming that it's your right to book every Friday is too much!

Every Friday, that sounds really tough. Ordering food out sounds best, perhaps use the heat as a good reason, that you get too hot cooking inside all day. Sometimes getting 3 little ones ready for a visit and then keeping them happy at someone else's house is harder than being at home so visiting them may not improve the situation much. All the best. Most of us have grandparents 1000's of miles away so try to focus on the positives of your kids seeing them often. But no, you shouldn't be expected to cook each week with such little kids in tow. On positive side, they adore my kids. My kids are very used to them that they don't act like we are in a strange place. But still they are small and should be reminded not to touch things. Heat excuse wouldn't work. My kitchen is very cold. Plus it's not only the cooking part. The whole house should be super clean and the kids and I should be dressed up. Instead of being relaxed on the only off day we have, it's becoming like Marathon!

I gave birth in LH last November. Money wasn't the factor. I choose to give birth their. It might not look like hotels room like private hospitals, but medical wise they follow the highest standard regarding mother and baby well being. The comment below about not bathing the baby immediately and leaving him/her with the mother. Daah, this is the recommendation world wide even in US and UK! About the scan I had 2 complete scans that each lasts for about 40-50 minutes. In addition to 4 fast scans in doctors' office. I had uncomplicated normal delivery that last for 36 hours and they were very patients with me. If It was in private hospital I'm sure I would be pushed toward CS. The nurses were very helpful and nice. Doctors were very good. Mid-wife assist the delivery. Pre and post Delivery I was seen by Consultant, specialist and gyne residents in addition to midwives. During my pregnancy i needed one night hospitalization for low fetal movement and all the CTG, test and doctor visits cost around 500 or less. Saying that lilypad28 had very valid point about the appointment. They are very busy and you need to book with them as soon as possible and nag as much as you can for earliest appointment. Ask them to change your team to get closer one. Overall I would say it depends on what you want. I wanted well trained doctors and mid-wives who deliver thousands of ladies yearly, baby friendly hospital with great breast feeding support and excellent pediatric team and NICU in case something went wrong. So I tolerated the late appointments and not fancy room.

Alismum, No they didn't contact us that's why we called them to ask for reason. We never managed a business account before so the whole thing is totally new to us. I'm glad that we had the receipt with her signature. I'm certainly sure she didn't " forget" since she kept saying that she will go to her home country for a month at least so she can't come back to us. Even if she did it in purpose, I'm blaming the bank for this completely. One more question: do you get notify by SMS when they withdraw money from your business account? According to our bank, business account has no SMS services and only notify by email. However they send us daily update of what we got paid by cards but never notify about balance debit against cheque or transfers?

Hi. Sorry for the late replay. So here is the review: I had an appointment with Akeela dental clinic in discovery gardens for zoom teeth whitening. The dentist did the scaling and cleaning first then the whitening. It took about an hour ( 20 minutes cleaning and 40 minutes for the whitening cycles). I was very worry about how painful the procedure would be since I have sensitive teeth but it was better than what I thought. Not comfortable and a little painful at some points but in general it was ok and tolerable. This is my first time to whiten my teeth so I don't have any other experience to compare to but I'm very happy with the result! The doctor said how long it will last is depending on me and my food so I'm trying to enjoy my new white teeth and to avoid coffee/ tea/ tomato sauce.... There was little discomfort when ever I brushed my teeth for about 2 days but then improved in third day. Total cost was 1200aed including the scaling and cleaning.

Thank you again Geordie expat. So 1200aed is good if the home kit cost around 600. This time I will do it in the clinic and most properly I will use the home kit later on if needed. I'm just nervous to use it alone for the first time and it's time for my bi-annual scaling anyway so will do it in the same session. I'm comfortable with this practice. They are new so most of their rates are very good. Booked for today so maybe I will come later and write how was it.

Please don't blame your self. These things happened to women all the time and nothing you could did would change it. I would take my child safety over anything. As other OPs said holding your healthy baby will make everything sense not important. If you think your doctor is pushing toward CS consider another opinion regarding placenta classification. If it's confirmed then you have to do the best for you and your baby. Try to be positive you are blessed that it's been diagnosed.

First of all congratulation. Don't worry at all, the moment you will star with a doctor everything will be easier. I can't comment on doctors in City since I don't know them but I can advise regarding what to do until seeing a doctor. You need to star taking Folic Acid 400microgram, multi vitamins are not necessary in early pregnancy. But (Pregnacare) has vitamins and Folic acid, it is around 39Aed and enough for one month. It is perfect for pregnancy. Then you need to maintain healthy life style: balanced food and enough sleep. Stop smoking and drinking if you do any. And enjoy being pregnant as much as you can. You really don't need to see doctor at this early stage in pregnancy unless you have a previous medical history. Other wise you will be completely fine with 4-5 weeks waiting to see a good recommended doctor. Actually at 4 weeks, it will be hard to hear a heart beat or seeing the fetus on a scan which might cause unwanted stress. Just Relax and enjoy.

As an Arab, I don't expect my western friends to cook Arabic food for me. For the menu you need to keep dates, water and juice. Most of people I know start with either soup or green salad. You can serve any apprizers you are good in cooking: any pastries will be fine. Regarding the main courses: grilled fish, steak, chicken, seafood... Any thing. Personally I would serve 2 dishes to give my guest more options special if I don't know their taste of food. In Arab culture deserts have to be served later and not on the table. And No it doesn't have to Arabic dishes, even cheese cake is perfect! For the seating: males and females share the same table and sit in the same room after that. Special with friends and families. You are the only one who can know if that is comfortable for your guests. If you went out together as couples or families then usually they are fine with that. For the praying usually ladies will pray in different room. You can ask them ONCE if they want to pray and offer them praying mats or clean sheet. Although it is Ramadan and they are fasting, but still many Muslims don't pray and ladies could be in period, so suggests it once and leave it to them. Males and females can use the same mat but not in the same time so you don't need more than two unless you have a very big group. It is very kind from you to prepare Iftar and trust me it would be highly appreciated from them so don't worry at all. Good luck.

What about Albaraha hospital. It is government but followed ministry of health not Dubai health authority so the prices are cheaper. All the Antenatal follow up appointments are free and for normal delivery 5000 AED. It is not a luxury hospital but big and old with good experience. also the baby will be covered for the first month and in case of NICU. It is a good option for ladies with no insurance. You may need to contact them and ask about it since I don't have first hand experience with them.

This happened in front of our building. What is not published yet that the under ground basement for one of the big building is completely full of water with hundred of cars flooding! It is extremely scary. The water reached the roof of the parking and the cars are swimming like toys. I really hope no one was hurt since this is very active basement for 8 levels building, restaurant and gym. DH and I still in shock since we were in this parking at 7pm dropping a friend. If that happens while we there.....

Yes, yes and yes! Thanks to Jackieq513, last year I was asking the same question and she recommended Alrahba. My experience was excellent. The midwives and nurses were very nice. I had seen many doctors in my antenatal appointment and I felt most of them were very good except one, so in next visit I asked them not to see her again. Just out of curiosity and please don't answer if you don't feel like. How do you decide to consider or go through this procedure? Do you have some family history or special concerns regarding diseases that your child might have in the future? Or Are you doing it just in case and to be in the safe side? I'm expecting and would like to consider all the possibilities. Thanks

Regarding the registration procedure: First you need to issue a health card either from Latifa hospital, Rashid hospital, Dubai hospital or Albadaa health centre. You will need copy of your passport, visa, Leasing contract, recent Dewa bill and 2 passport photos. Just in case take a copy of your marriage certificate and your copy of your husband passport. Plus 310 AED. According to the area you are living in they will assign you to a health centre. For me it was Albarsha. After completing 16 weeks go to your clinic ( take with you all the previous documents except photos, most properly you will need only Leasing contract and Dewa bill only, but again you never know), you will pay 150Aed and see a GP who will refer you to the gynecologist. They will give you an appointment and tell you to bring yours and your husband passport copy, leasing contract and Dewa bill, marriage certificate and 5000 AED. You will be seeing the gynecologist in the clinic till around 36 weeks then you will be refer to Latifa or Dubai hospital depend on your area of resident. I only met the GP and my first gyna appointment is after 3 weeks but this is what they told me. Best of luck.

Please DON'T wait!!!! From medical point of view, you would like to make sure It is not jaundice due to Hemolytic Anemia or Liver dysfunction. What about his eyes: Doese it look yellow? Pale? His blood bilirubin, RBC and LFT should be examined. Although it might be nothing serious but alot of blood disorders appear at this age group.

You have the perfect excuse: the baby! Don't answer their calls or sms and never call them, if they called after a couple of days cut the conversation short: the baby is hungry, needs a change, whatever... The same thing applys if they want to meet : baby has colic, vaccination or you are tired since you are not sleeping well because of the BABY :D This will be enough to de-friend them specially if they are not good friends in the first place. Worked well for me. edited by cafelate on 25/04/2013

Reading all of these stories are picturing the VB as the worst thing in earth and CS as the answer. None of them is easy and none is gurantee. OP if you asked the question in different way and said who had horribble CS I'm sure loads of ladies will share awfull stories about it too. I had painfull VB with baby number one with epistomy which took more than a month to heal and i was scared to try it again. But with baby number 2 i had VB without a tear or epistomy and i was completly pain free the moment the baby came out Although he was big size baby. What i want to say please don't take your descion based on others experience. Find an OB that you trust, discuss all the options with her and take informed descion based on medical facts and statistics for the short and long terms effects. Best of luck and I hope you will have safe delivery for you and the baby.

Do you mean neonatal intesive care unit for pre-mature babies? Latifa Hospitals ( Alwasl ) is highly recommended as well established NICU with great consultant, doctors and nurses. It is a government hospital so you need to book with them during your pregnancy to secure a place for the baby if something happend later. I wish you long and safe pregnancy and delivery.
