Sounds like you are doing all you can. You can take a horse to water, but you can't make him drink :) Slowly remove all processed foods and sugar from the house, start replacing them with fresh healthy food, but do it slowly :). Make sure there are lots of veg on a covered plate with a good yummy dip for night time snacking, fruit, lots of water. Start small and work your way up. If you have children they will also benefit and learn...no one needs processed foods or sugar. At the end of the day, he is responsible for his health, you are not. Talk to him to see if there is anything he does like to do, swim, walk, tennis, any sport, does not matter if he will not have a weight loss goal, the idea is to keep him moving, does not matter what it is :) good luck. you keep doing what you are doing for yourself and do not nag him.....that is counterproductive :0

I find sometimes, people on here overthink. Kissing your children on the lips is not a problem. If someone outside feels it is a problem, then it is their problem and they must figure out why they think it is a problem and look at their own history......kissings lips is not always sexual ok,,, if someone thinks that is the only thing lip kissing is for, then they must look inside an wonder why. Kiss your kids, tilt your head, smother them in kisses...give them a good smackeron the mouth!!! just do it..

I was going to reply with shock and amazement at some of the replies then thought, well, that would not be helpful in the least. Hopefully this might be. !. Know where the money is....if you know nothing about the house finances, find out now....get copies of all bank statements, go through the files, dig dig dig and see if there is a hidden account. 2. Make sure you have enough money to live on right now in case he cancels all CCards, closes accounts so you will not be able to help yourself. 3. Be stealthy! keep quiet right now no matter how angry and sad you are. you can fall apart once you get a good lawyer (British if possible) and know where the money is....and the kids are organized and you know where your life is going, then award yourself with a very small breakdown, and move on. 4. He apparently is leading with the other head so all sense has gone out the window. He is willing to abandon you and the children...get the money now! Get the lawyer now....get moving..you do not have time to wallow in pain :(.....Feel for you, but you have children, get protecting them and yourself. Be strong!!! 5....get your passport and the childrens!!! give them to a friend for safekeeping!

ditto what seasand says. Your gal has had a good ride lol. Sounds like she has been taking the **** so to speak. You hired a helper to help the maid, well good for you for doing that and it is a shame you were flamed on here but certainly not unheard of lol... Just tell her that she has had her advance and she will get her pay when it is due and not before as you are still paying both her and her helper!! Tell her not to ask for an advance on anything because she will not get it... she has food and shelter and will get a ticket home and end of service bonus.

i found this on Expat Echo: ' AnswerYes, she can sponsor her child however, this is subject for approval from the Immigration Authority and as part of requirement she would need to provide an NOC letter from the father which should be fully legalized in Foreign Affairs and UAE Embassy from the country where it is issued and further legalization in MOFA in UAE is required. Also, the birth certificate of the child should be fully legalized as well. Usual requirements for sponsoring dependents will apply such as Attested Tenancy Contract, Latest Dewa Bill,Passport Copy & Visa, Passport Copy of the Child, Attested Employment Contract / Salary Certificate in Arabic, Emirates ID, 1 photo white background , Required Salary: AED Min 3,000 + accommodation or AED 4, 000 basic salary

Most places have only counter girls with rudimentary experience on the makeup they are selling. You want to go somewhere where they have an actual makeup artist. Channel has one at Dubai Mall that I know of.. I actually have 2 colours, a light from Channel and the face and body from Mac which is darker. I mix them to match my skin. I can wear the Channel 40 alone but I feel adding just a dab of Mac is perfect. So, you might try mixing and also a makup artist will give you the right tone for you skin as well as the colour..there is a difference.

sometimes we humans think too much. I kissed my mom on the lips, my dad, my grandparents, my son....it was not gross, it is what we did...there were no hidden agendas, no one thought it might 'lead to something else' Lips are not just for the opposite *** or a partner hey, skinned knees get kissed, tears get kisses, owies get kisses, hello and goodby get kisses.. dial it back lol... if your little one want to kiss you on the lips and you are uncomfortable, ask why :) anyway, go ahead, they are your family, nothing wrong with it. My 34 year old son gave me a kiss on the lips when I came back in the fall,, just affection, that is all....

well, just remember that Emirates is very pilot short right now, things will get better eventually but, dont expect lots of family time, get out there and do your own thing with your kids(if you have any?) When he is home and alert, make the best of the time together :)...some gals are busy doing gym, car pools, working, learning so think of this adventure as a tool for you and your kids to grow and the husband will be there when he can :) We have loved our time here and it is so much better now, than 13 years ago and I know from the gals who have been her 20+ that it is amazing now lol...so go with the flow.....do not rely on your husband for now and enjoy this new country.... :)

https://www.airbnb.com/s/College-st-toronto?room_types%5B%5D=Entire+home%2Fapt&price_min=99&ss_id=ne4mpx8y&s_tag=F9HmXCa9 Here is Air BnB in toronto on College area, little Italy. Easy bus ride to downtown. good area.... not so expensive....you will have to join Air bnb to see what is there though. Pinpoint Eaton Center and work your way from there. Jarvis not great... Kensington Market area is good My son lives in the Bellwood area and it is 1/2 walk to Eatons downtown and that is sometimes faster than the bus. You could also try the University of Toronto for bare bones and they rent out during the summer :)

Saskatchewan is Flat! really Flat(except for the northern Sask). Except for a hill and curve on Bells Plains outside Regina lol.....you can see the Aurora Borealis on some nights though and can see for miles and miles. Lived 1 hr away from Regina for 3 years and spent time in Saskatoon. Both Cities are lovely but partial to Saskatoon as it reminds of of when my City was smaller :)... download a map of toronto. There are alot of B&B's as well as inexpensive Hotels. The closer you get to the Eaton Center the more expensive I think. You can pretty much walk everywhere or take the subway or tram. I cannot help with names of AirBNB though, I did stay at one and it was nice.

please keep in mind that everyone reacts to meds differently and if you do need to go on the strong meds then the Dr. can adjust if needed. You might also look to your diet and see if there is anything you are eating that your body reacts to and could be causing the symptoms. Good luck, hope you get the answers you need :)

May I suggest that you stay away from Pprune :) and instead head over to Facebook - Emirates pilots wives, lots of gals ready with answers to your questions. We have been her 13 years and are leaving end of May. My advice on the furniture is this, There are so many site that are selling used furniture that is in fabulous shape because it is so transient here, that chances are you can outfit your self to start with some nice things and 1/4 of the price. Do not buy with an eye to take it back with you to your home country. Chances are your tastes will have changed in the interim and do not want to take it lol.....'hands up here' lol If you have furniture you cannot live without then bring only what you love or is absolutely necessary! Now in dubai you can get anything, 13 years ago it was the pits lol. Dubizzle is one, you are moving to Meydan Heights they have a SELL, BUY, Swap page on FB... You can also get a starter pac (unless that has changed) where you get the bare necessities to start, plates, cutlery some pots and pans, sheets, towels plate, glasses etc. Not all the furniture is expensive but if you are going to be here for a long time think short time anyway in the furniture dept. You can always buy better stuff somewhere down the road. Lots of places will make your curtains, Satwa, Dragonmart.. lots of recommendations here :) Dont rush into trying to furnish like your home country, it will come...get mattresses and other absolute necessities..... That is just my opinion though.

when you are with your children and they are excited about something and want to tell you...do you say "mmm" give them a glance and continue looking at your phone? Or,do you put down your phone and completely engage with your children, looking at their faces, making them feel like you as so impressed with what they are saying and engaging them in conversation or "mmmm" and go back to their phone,, never seeing the sadness on their faces because once again, the phone is more important.

case in point today. Driving home. Driving at reasonable speed to light...car on right turns wheels into my lane, slam on brakes blast horn and the shock on her face as she was texting!!! cripes...she would have been hurt if I had T-boned her!!! then the stupid person gets in front of me, proceeds to use her phone, light turns and we are sitting there waiting...another blast of horn and off she goes... seriously, ended up driving by her and there she was...phone on the steering wheel......what is wrong with people. If it is that important find a place to safely pull over to have the text. But then I guess opinions on this are not as exciting as asking about Dr. for babies pierced ears lol Or, so many do this that they cannot give a good reason for doing it? :)

I will be surrounded by mostly whites which I am one of btw....shall miss all the wonderful colours, attitudes, cooking, dressing, dancing and just being different than me :)... I am thinking it will be pretty boring on a few levels...so, I think that is the one important thing I will miss terribly when we finally go home :).... how drab the population will seem for the most part :)....will have to take regular trips to Halifax, Toronto and New York :)... hopefully, this will be the end of the bickering on this thread :)

Once again. If someone asks a specific question, and you know the answer, then answer it and move. If someone asks for an opinion and you have one, then give it. And get into a debate if one arises on differing opinions BUT Just because you do not agree with something when only a specific question was asked ie: where to get my babies ears priced.......then giving your opinion is not necessary nor, I am sure, wanted. I am surprised more women do not tell people to mind their business. Hopefully the OP actually got her QUESTION answered. Just because this is a forum it does not give you licence to bott in with your opinion when one was not asked.

Yup if you. Had read Tessa's remarks, you would have known what I was referring to... And generalizations? Good heavens have you read this whole nutty thread? The woman asked a question and the holier than thous, one again jumped in with unwanted opions even to the point of saying that in the Uk piercing a child's ears were looked upon as less than. Not quite up there with the white people. I sure did not say that but it is no ones business what they do. Apparently some on here generalize a lot, so my. Comment just went. With the flow This is what I was referring to: ntirely for the parents but in UK they do tend to be associated with lower social economic groups or people from other cultures where it is the norm and are frowned upon by the white middle classes. Maybe the UAE having doctors doing the deed changes that perception a bit - in UK it is often poorly trained 'beauticians' and shop assistants - or sometimes a friend at sch

The table was a Paula Dean table but did not say that it was, but I had been looking at her table for a while and asked Jossandmain if it was the same and it was...so a great bargain.....

I might be inclined to actually go and visit the previous sponsor in person, at their home. If she then says the sponsor is not in Dubai, I would certainly take a pass. It is worth your time to physically meet them. That should weed out a few liars.

Sad that she was reading the wrong labour law. but no, she is certainly not entitled. "Our maid has been with us for several years but will be leaving at the end of the month and returning to the Philippines. We are on good terms and want to make a larger final payment to her, but are not sure what the law says about a gratuity payment to domestic staff as we have been told different things. We want to pay at least the amount legally required, so could you clarify please? PJ, Dubai As the law stands, UAE Labour Law does not apply to domestic staff. This means currently sponsors of domestic staff have no legal requirement to make an end of service gratuity payment, although many do so voluntarily. I understand, however, that the Federal National Council has been discussing a law that will make an end of service gratuity payment for domestic staff mandatory after one year of service, but this has yet to be passed into law. ok ladies, the thing is....not everything is going to work for everyone :)...we are all different. So, the original poster asked for the quickest way to loose 5kg. :)....a few people actually answered her question and then lots waded in with advice about why she should not do it or what she should do lo....so... It all works...it all depends on how you approach it. So, I say to the original question. Do what makes sense to you and ignore the preaching. Now, if you want different answers, post "what is the best way to lose weight" you will get lots of opinions., and lots of the opinions excellent......but your question "the fast way to lose 5kg" got lost in everyones opinion about why not to do a fast weight loss..... Gals on here tend to pontificate and totally drift from the actual question and if they disagree well heck.. you are in for lots of wrist slapping and advice, that you actually did not ask for lol... So, another thread gone....and personally, I could not care less if anyone agrees with me or not....but that is just me :).. that would be why I would never come here to ask serious questions...I would go to the professionals, were the OP might want to consider :) Boy, Now I am in for it lol

ok, just a second here. Starving yourself at 500calories for 2 days a week and then stuffing yourself with whatever you normally eat? hello???? lessons learned here are? I agree that Cleanse 9 is not an actual 'cleanse' for the simple reason our bodies do that job quite well...but you are at least having 1,000 calories a day, and on day 5 you can have your salad and protein at lunch and then at dinner...we are talking 2 cups of veg and 3 - 4 oz of protein at each meal.....so...and 2 litres of water, you do not stuff your face and you can have as many free veg and fruit as you like when you like...so basically, for 9 days you eat a good balanced diet of fruit, veg and protein.... so...which eating plan works better? I poo pooed it and finally tried it....it is not hokus pokus nor a scam and more than than starving for 2 days a week and stuffing yourself for 5? just a thought. As for losing 5kg in a week.. well, that would absolutely be water weight and not fat. And, exercise does play a part in diet...but diet is 80% and exercise is 20% but I can tell you, if you actually do cardio and weights your will change the shape of your body rather than being 20kg less but the same shape. ok...i am done.
