Hi.. Our baby is due soon, so we got Chicco's Infant Car Seat (KeyFit30) along with its Caddy Fit Carrier. As per reviews & market surveys available on the Internet, this brand has been rated the best FY 2014 in terms of infant safety & comfort features. The car seat can be used until baby is 30lbs and so we got a carrier instead of the stroller, as it's less bulky, extremely light weight, one hand operation and esp easy to handle for frequent travellers. Once baby outgrows the infant seat limit, then we'll go for a convertible car seat with a nice stroller or prolly a travel system. But for now, at this stage of infancy, we thought going for a carrier instead made more sense.

Me & family go to Shams Moopen Dental Clinic. It's on GF, Zen Tower, Dubai Marina (near Lotus Hotel Apts, or the new Marina Mosque besides Marina Walk). Dr. Zareena is too good at her work & attitude. Highly recommended!

Dragon Mart is the place where I saw loads of massage chairs, but I doubt if any of the outlet would have a website for online order placement.

Hi.. I would recommend Dr Elsa. She practices out of the hospital premises (Mediclinic City Hospital). She is very nice, experienced & have great bedside manners. Only issue is that she is booked heavily for many many months in advance. Taking appointment can be challenging. Other name is Dr Grace. She practices out of Dubai Mall location of Mediclinic City Hospital. My first pregnancy (early this year) was dealt by her throughout. Very humble, caring & of course experienced gyno. All the best!

Lemme share my layman troubleshooting experience for Viber :D Mine was also not working, be it wifi or otherwise. Then I heard that this app has been blocked. So I deleted the account / uninstalled the app from my phone in Dubai and later during my vacation to home country during Eid, I installed it again (in my home country) and set up the account with UAE phone number. And it's perfectly working fine now in UAE. No disruptions or poor voice quality... All seems bang perfect now. Try the same if anyone of you planning to step outside of UAE in the coming future. It'll def work this way... Else, Skype rox!

I am a first time mom-to-be and am soooo confused over the choices for a car seat/stroller/carry seat. I like the Graco brand, seems reasonably priced also, but now I am hearing more raves about Chicco. Thoughts or recommendations on which brand to go for in terms of infant safety, product durability etc? And should one go for a "travel system" in one go or opt for buying car seat first (with a carrier for the infant), and later go for buying a stroller? Thank you in advance!!

Thanks AHS...many fri ends of mine did tell me about Dragon Mart but was not sure of durability and reliability with my two naughty kids.....but with what u said...can go n check....any specific shop if u remember... as there r loads of them.in DM There are loads of shops, which means loads of variety to choose from. You must enter the Mall from entrance gate 'IB' which is towards the end of the mall. Golden Sun is one shop having loads of sofa sets. Otherwise in IB you'll find many shops having complete house furniture, indoor, outdoor, ranging from bedroom sets, kids room sets, dining etc etc etc. The price difference is huge in DM & rest of the high-end shops. I would rate the durability as good as oppose to price that im paying for the brand new furniture.

I would suggest Pan Emirates & Dragon Mart. We bought our furniture for the entire house almost 4 years back (beds, mattresses from PE & sofas plus other indoor / outdoor furniture from DM), and everything is still in good working condition.

All information you require is available here: http://www.expatwoman.com/dubai/monthly_discover_dubai_jumeirah_mosque_8329.aspx Or you could call to reconfirm at 04-353 6666 (Sunday through Thursday, 9am to 5pm. Saturday, 9am to 1pm). Visiting time for Jumeirah Mosque runs 6 days a week from Saturday to Thursday, at 10am. Guest registration begins at 9:45 and the doors close promptly at 10:05. But the OP was asking about Ramadan - there is no mention of Ramadan timings on that link... That's why mentioned their contact # to reconfirm timings during Ramadan!! Actually, what you said was "all information you require is available here".. I was just pointing out that it isn't ... Pity!! Anyways, I hope the OP got the intended response from here or elsewhere! Some people only intend to help, while others have ALL the time in the world to #$/*;;'?@!$# May sanity prevail!! edited by AHS on 04/07/2014

Hi. I have been under treatment of a clinic in Abu Dhabi (personally based in Dubai). And upon their excellent services, esp the nursing staff, I want to treat them with some food vouchers so they can go out at leisure and have a nice meal as a gratitude gesture from me. Request all AUH members to kindly suggest restaurants that provide Iftar / Dinner meal vouchers (nothing lavish or expensive) preferably purchased online. Thanks!

If you will find good match (trousers/skirt, shirt) to your blazer, go for it. Full suit is classy but boring. for personal assistant you need to look tidy, professional and elegant. But more important you need to be confident and comfy in whatever you wear. Good luck! edited by irish259 on 03/07/2014 Agree. Stay calm & confident. Wish you all the best!! P.s. In case you're lining up for several interviews in the coming future, might as well buy a full suit. Max has economical variety. Otherwise, good deals awaited during sale time around Eid.

No personal experience... But you could always visit whichever suits you in terms of location & attend their introductory classes. I heard you can attend 2 or 3 classes (complimentary) before final enrolment.

All expats living in the UAE should respect the traditions of the country. Everyone is welcome here with an open mind & heart, but that invitation has been extended in the hope that each individual will try to learn a little about the religion, heritage and traditions of the country in which they have arrived. And re the topic under discussion here, it is simple really. It's about being considerate to those around you. Playing loud music in your car is another thing which many non-Muslims don't think about. We all appreciate that not everyone knows exactly what Ramadan is about or how they should behave, but I would encourage people to learn - it is polite and shows an interest in the country you live in. The most basic piece of advice is to have patience. That goes for people of all nationalities - including Muslims. Non-Muslims must be open to becoming educated about the ways of Ramadan and Muslims must respect that some people are still learning. If we all have patience, everything will be OK!
