Hello ladies, Good morning. This is an old thread started by me (under Canada Forum but, I am posting it in Dubai Forum hoping to get some feedback....) As we plan for our get to know / holiday trip to Canada more for acquainting ourselves to the country, may I please request for recommendations of BnB places to live for a week each in Toronto, Saskatoon and Regina? This holiday of ours is more for knowing the cities, getting a feel of it rather than sightseeing. I am not looking at any 4 or 5 star hotels as it is not a leisure holiday. In each of the cities can you please recommend the area we should live in i.e would Downtown be more suitable in Toronto for commute reason and so on. Also, if at all anyone has done a similar trip or plan to, can you suggest what places should be on my list of to dos i.e. schools, housing, recruitment companies and so on. The ladies who have very kindly responded to my request earlier I once again thank you for your valuable feedback and look forward to obtaining more xx Thank you and have a nice day!

https://www.airbnb.com/s/College-st-toronto?room_types%5B%5D=Entire+home%2Fapt&price_min=99&ss_id=ne4mpx8y&s_tag=F9HmXCa9 Here is Air BnB in toronto on College area, little Italy. Easy bus ride to downtown. good area.... not so expensive....you will have to join Air bnb to see what is there though. Pinpoint Eaton Center and work your way from there. Jarvis not great... Kensington Market area is good My son lives in the Bellwood area and it is 1/2 walk to Eatons downtown and that is sometimes faster than the bus. You could also try the University of Toronto for bare bones and they rent out during the summer :)

Saskatchewan is Flat! really Flat(except for the northern Sask). Except for a hill and curve on Bells Plains outside Regina lol.....you can see the Aurora Borealis on some nights though and can see for miles and miles. Lived 1 hr away from Regina for 3 years and spent time in Saskatoon. Both Cities are lovely but partial to Saskatoon as it reminds of of when my City was smaller :)... download a map of toronto. There are alot of B&B's as well as inexpensive Hotels. The closer you get to the Eaton Center the more expensive I think. You can pretty much walk everywhere or take the subway or tram. I cannot help with names of AirBNB though, I did stay at one and it was nice.

I stayed at an airbnb last summer in Toronto. This is the link to the host: https://www.airbnb.nl/users/show/7965545 Their basement suite was fine for myself and my daughter, there is a double bed with a pullout bed. The location is near Bathurst and Bloor and it's conveniently located near public transport. Esther is very pleasant and helpful, although there is no guarantee that she will be around while you are there. It was definitely cheaper than staying in a hotel. Living in downtown Toronto is very, very expensive and so you may end up living in one of the suburbs. There is one parking spot at Esther's house, so you may use her house as your base and do drives from there. I am not from Toronto, so someone else on this board may have a better suggestion for a different part of town to visit. You can walk to Kensington Market from this location.

Hi NIkitaD Saskatchewan is a lovely place (much like the rest of Canada :P ) It is very quiet and peaceful with lovely fields of wheat and barley and cows hehehe. Regina is a small city and you won't have to worry about traffic or people always being in a rush. Also a cool plus about Canada is that its super cheap to go on a vacation to Mexico or Cuba for a week. I really hope you like your visit and that immigration works for you :)

Hmmmm. this is such a broad question/post. Downtown toronto is wonderful and very touristy/ studenty/ businessmany. If you are looking to move to toronto and have a family, chances are you would stay in one of the many many suburbs. Perhaps its worth staying downtown and visiting missisauga, oakville, etc. I have no idea about B&B's either. Sorry. A very wonderful place to stay though is near the water, as you can walk to eatons centre, dundas square, ripleys aquarium, the lakes, cherry beach etc. Also can I ask why your visiting saskatoon and regina? They aren't the most common place to visit... Thank you brie03. As we would be migrating we are obliged to stay in Saskatchewan Province for a certain duration if not more.

Sorry I have no idea about Canada, but why not try Air BnB for accommodation, once you have the areas sorted. That way you would hopefully get to meet some locals while you're there. Thank you Geordie. Yes, I have started looking at Air BnB but, if I get any help from this forum, I shall be grateful.
