My daughter had the heat treatment done in her apartment in Toronto. It was effective. Sorry can't help with companies here, but the treatment does work, if done correctly!

HI Bob. You might get more helpful replies if you ask your question on 'pprune.org'. There are many active boards with lots of question/answer forums. Good luck.

Both cities have advantages and disadvantages for both work and daily life. One thing to consider, in Montreal, your husband will have better luck with a job if he is bilingual, French and English. Depending on your country of origin, your children may have to go to French school in Montreal, as opposed to English. You would have to check the rules and regulations for enrolment into an English school. As for you, you will have to apply for a teaching certificate with the province where you live. This may take some time to validate. Teaching is very strictly regulated within each province. Housing in Toronto itself can be very expensive, but if you move to one of the outlying areas, it may be more affordable. It can be very difficult in Toronto to secure a place to rent unless you can prove that you have a permanent contract with a company. I don't know about the rental situation in Montreal. Overall, you will pay higher personal income tax in Quebec than you will in Ontario. Perhaps you should look through this website for more answers. https://www.canada.ca/home.html

Hi, welcome to the world of being vegan. When my daughter, who is vegan, was visiting, we found soya yoghurt at Spinney's on Al Wasl. Sometimes, they also have vegan cheese. Forgot to add that Omnia restaurant serves vegetarian, and possible vegan meals. There is one at the Mall of the Emirates, and one in a little marina on beach road.

I guess I should have read through the whole post before I replied! Thanks for pointing that out. For the original poster, good luck setting up your tutoring business, 15 to 20,000 DHS per year sounds about right.

I am not sure if you are aware that teaching privately is illegal, unless you have a business license. People may not be willing to answer your questions because this is a public forum.

I have been going to Deborah at Gloss salon on Al Wasl. She does my highlights and cut, and then in between visits, I go to the students at the training centre who do my root touch up. It's a good deal as they are supervised and then you only pay for the products.

Definitely agree that you have to have some extra time for the students at Gloss. I had my roots done by one of the students and she did a good job. She was well supervised and I am happy with the results. When a student does your hair, you only pay for the products. A week later, I had my hair cut by Deborah, the salon owner, and I am happy with it. Definitely worth it to call and find out about prices.

Dear Loving wife, I don't know the answer to your question, regarding the next step, but I want to let you know that you must be kind to you. Kids are growing and changing so much that it is hard sometimes to pick up all the clues and signs that might indicate ASD. If she is only 3 and you are already on top of the preliminary diagnosis, then give yourself a hug and a pat on the back for moving forward and getting the process started. Parenting is already a hard job, so please be kind to you. Your DD is lucky to have you as a mom. Most likely the clinic where she is being assessed will have some information for you about the next few steps. You may find that there is a lot of trial and error in strategies that will help your daughter, so I suggest you keep notes in a binder to help you stay focused.

I can't advise if it's a good idea or not, but if you are going to buy a used vehicle, then be sure to do your 'due diligence' and have it inspected by a reputable auto shop. We used AAA in Al Quoz, and based on their recommendation, we did not buy the vehicle we were considering.

I think that making a 'pros and cons' list can really help to clarify whether or not it is worth it to stay. The thing with such a list, is that you have to keep working on it for a few weeks, as more things come to mind, you can add them. As well, even though it's hard to predict the future, does returning to your home country, or another country really have more opportunity to earn extra or more money? It is hard to make ends meet here in Dubai, but have you really assessed how you spend money here? I know you aren't extravagant, but is it possible to trim more from your spending and 'pay yourself first'? If you aren't familiar with that, then when the money comes in, the first money that should go out is a percentage that you put away for savings, then, you manage the expenses with what is leftover, instead of the other way around. It takes a few months to get used to working this way, but at least you know you have paid yourself first! Good luck, it is not an easy decision and we are also working on our own pro/con list!

I had this done a few years ago. I had my university send my transcripts directly to the UAE embassy. That is the only way the embassy will accept them. I had both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees certified. I did not have my high school certificate verified. I didn't use a service, as I was able to arrange it all myself. I did have a friend in Ottawa who was able to go to the Embassy to pick up the final documents and finalize the payment. I am sorry, I don't know how you would arrange to receive the docs once they are attested, unless you have a friend who can help you out!

The Visa rules seem to be changing and it is difficult to find out the exact details. Canadians used to be issued a 30 day visitor visa upon arrival, but according to this site listed below, that may also be changing. This is the most recent information that we have found: http://www.propartnergroup.com/category/blog/

If you are anywhere near Craftland in Jumeriah town centre, drop in and ask the embroidery instructor, or talk to Jenny, the manager. I suggest you take the item with you.

We had one made up at the florist at the Union Co-op on Al Wasl. We had checked around at a few places and most of the florists just attached the flowers to some ribbons. None of the florists really seemed to know about them. We also had one made up at Spinneys.

HI, Carrie has made a good point about having your son tested to see if he is a carrier, but I would suggest that you have everyone in the family tested. We had a similar situation in our family and it turns out 2 of our 3 kids were carriers. Good luck.

I was in Craftland this afternoon and they don't have very much flannel left in the store. They had a big sale a few weeks ago and most of it sold at that time. Good luck in your hunt to find flannel!

Craftland in Town Centre near Mercato may have flannel, but it might be expensive. I have not seen flannel in Satwa lately, but it is worth a look. It might be worth it to give Craftland a call and ask them.

I stayed at an airbnb last summer in Toronto. This is the link to the host: https://www.airbnb.nl/users/show/7965545 Their basement suite was fine for myself and my daughter, there is a double bed with a pullout bed. The location is near Bathurst and Bloor and it's conveniently located near public transport. Esther is very pleasant and helpful, although there is no guarantee that she will be around while you are there. It was definitely cheaper than staying in a hotel. Living in downtown Toronto is very, very expensive and so you may end up living in one of the suburbs. There is one parking spot at Esther's house, so you may use her house as your base and do drives from there. I am not from Toronto, so someone else on this board may have a better suggestion for a different part of town to visit. You can walk to Kensington Market from this location.

I had that surgery and more with Dr. Ibrahim at City Hospital. I was very happy with him as a doctor and with my experience at City Hospital. That was 6 years ago, so I don't know if the hospital has changed very much. I saw him a few months ago, so I know he is still there.

Hi. As this is a public forum, people may be reluctant to post answers to the questions you are asking. I would suggest that you go the the PPRUNE forum and read the threads on the Middle East. Please remember that people have posted both positives and negatives, but if you read long and hard, you will find many answers to your questions. An excellent thread has been started today. It is big decision to move here and one you should not take lightly. Good luck!

This event did happen two days ago. The Victim did sustain horrible injuries. We live in the same area and there was a break in just two weeks ago. I think what is so shocking about this incident is the violence associated with it. Petty break ins are more common than we realize, but this is a whole new level of aggression. Please put a piece of wood in each of your sliding doors as an extra safety precaution. Also, if you are nervous at night, keep your car keys with you as you can always set off your car alarm as an alert.

Hi, I was in Chiang Mai in Feb this year. We did a cooking course that was great. http://www.tripadvisor.ca/Attraction_Review-g293917-d2233059-Reviews-Thai_Farm_Cooking_School-Chiang_Mai.html We stayed in the Tri Yaan na Ros colonial house. It was fine; it's just outside the city center. Best to check the reviews on trip advisor. Enjoy!

Lift and laminate???? Spellcheck got me again!! "Lift and Luminate" is a line from Boots. I think it is part of their own line of skin care. I usually try and buy it when it is the 3 for 2 sale, so it's pretty reasonably priced. I have tried their tubes of eye serum, but have found that they irritate my eyes, so I just stick with the pots of cream for day and night. (Also wanted to add that I also find it really intimidating to go in to the makeup departments. I feel totally lost and overwhelmed. At least with these products, they are not too intimidating to buy!)
