As a matter of interest, any ladies here been to Essex (or the locals there would call it 'issex')...? Now, there is one place in UK for chavs!!! Had the high misfortune of living there for a time.... My DH is from Essex...lived in Chigwell when I met him. Although I never lived there I know exactly what you mean! I love watching TOWIE though! But have you seen The Valleys? That a whole new level Horrific Suze and i thought Geordie Shore was bad! No one should ever suffer living there - my former DH was from Basildon and OMG, what an utter dump. Never watched (or would want to watch TOWIE) - I would need expensive psychiatric treatment for remembering my time in that unfortunate county.... Plenty of hoodies, tracksuits, girls dancing in white stilettos around their handbags and guys believing that their jeans, below their posterias look so so cool....not!! Did he go to Cha(l)vedon school and hang out at Pitsea market? Girls you are scaring me. We are moving to Brentwood DH reassures me It's one of the better areas please tell it is so MissMoe - I strongly (underlined) advise you to avoid Pitsea and its entirety at all costs - including Canvey Island :-). In all honesty, Brentwood a lovely place with many expensive properties. We lived in Stock - just relatively around the corner (between Billericay and Shenfield). Great train links to London Liverpool Street (via Stratford). Although if you want the fast train, go to platform 1 at Brentwood, take one stop back to Shenfield, then get the fast train otherwise its all stops (via Ilford and Stratford). It's a good place to live in serious terms. edited by bblue on 19/05/2013 thank you bblue DH agrees with you they are deff places I would not want to go but I would like Brentwood You have no idea how much you have put my mind at rest thank you again It's an absolute pleasure and the best bit - on the high street is the most wonderful Waitrose!! bblue you have just made my day :)

My Dh and I are moving to Essex in 4 weeks I've never been there. I've started to watch TOWIE for inspiration I have now shortened my dresses by 4 / 6 inches I've been practising the accent and I've booked myself in for an orange tan just before we leave MissMoe - can I highly suggest the following (and take it from one who absolutely knows - from a viewing stance):- a) buy the cheapest orange tan you can - none of the designer stuff as it works (otherwise the locals will realise you are not from the area); B) purchase ill fitting high heels (the higher the better) again, from the cheapest shop - usually a supermarket; c) purchase elocution lessons (as in 'alright luv', 'innit', 'wotever' 'you dissing me?') then you will comfortably fit in; D) and as you already metioned, skirts shortened to only approximately 6 inches in depth. Good luck (you will need it)!!!! V LOL!!! I can already imagine the 'look'. ;)

I have never seen this either. I avoid places with alcohol anyway. And for a good reason it seems. Steady on, it's not the root of all evil! :D There are plenty of places we go, with alcohol, where everybody seems perfectly able to behave themselves with respect and decorum while having a few bevies :). PS Better to avoid places with chavs.

Via Youtube - watch My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding....although filmed around most of the UK, quite a few were from the campsite in Basildon shut down a while ago - that should give you, as Sarahlou and I mentioned, 'the look' Can I get big fat Gypsy Wedding on catch up tv?

[Horrific Suze and i thought Geordie Shore was bad! It might be horrific but I must confess to buying Season 2 on Apple TV! Where else would you ever hear the line "I can't believe I've had sheep tatooed on my *****"! By the by, did you know that they are going to be filming the movie version of TOWIE this summer? Would you like like to hazard a guess where? Yep...run for the hills or get your white stilletos out and join in!

Celebrities do this on purpose to remain relevant. I thought they did it because they were void of all class. That is also a reason...
