We had been in an apartment for 3yrs, and at christmas moved into a villa it was the best decison we have made i would find it hard to go back into an apartment now, reason we decided we wanted a villa was the kids/animals, its made such a difference to the lads having a garden to run wild in and has made it easier for me to get jobs done, if they are playing out i can get the place tidy in half the time, I also am fortunate to be surrounded by lovely neighbours, we nevr knew anyone in our apt block other then to say hi but since we moved i have made friends with a few people and often call round for a coffee and a natter

Hiya, i dont know what the overall rule is but the 2 i took mine to for fs1, they were taken off to another room without me, I was really worried with my eldest because he is the same, knew everything if i asked him but infront of people he would just shrug his shoulders and say he didn't know or just say whatever he felt like whether it was the answer or what batman did in the last episode depended on how he felt. I don't know exactly what was done in the room, DS said he had built a tower of blocks, drawn a picture of himself and had to say what some letters were from pictures of them, that was all he said, then he went off to be spiderman again ha ha. I wouldn't worry about it i think for Fs1 it is more to see if they are ready to be away from you, and if they can interact, shyness is normal especially put in a classroom with a strange person i'm sure they get it all the time :)

Sorry, i was trying to get the child that does't sleep to bed lol, yeah she was from the UK, from down south, now i look back i wonder if were really so daft to just take her word for it, but its easy to get sucked in sometimes, we heard what we wanted and didn't take any further actions of our own, and we learnt a BIG lesson, yes there are fantastic people out there that can make your money work and go far, but there are also people who are just out to make the quick 'buck'. Hope your lady is one of the good un's and she can sort you out and make it an easy painfree experience, you seem to have more idea what you are doing then we did anyway, we didn't check previous clients ourselves, just spoke to a person she called ha ha how stupid, ah well live and learn, i had just had a baby, what his excuse was i don't know:)

Hiya, just a word of warning, i don't want to cause a fight or a massive discussion on where i went wrong etc, i am just saying from personal experience, likely we should have done more research ourselvesetc, but its not a learning curve if you don't learn! :) WE bought a property from "an expert in overseas property", she came to Dubai showed us lots and lots of info the rental prices in the area, the schools etc, we thought we were getting a real steal with the property whilst done up on the cheap, b n q scale, it looked tidy and we would have been happy to rent it on paper if we were looking, so thinking we knew the area (we were from the area) we signed and sealed the deal, only to find the only people willing to rent were students, it wasn't in an ideal area for families, (it was a long street part of it was family the end where we unknowigly bought was all student )fine whatever students, professionals what did it matter, we had an agent they could sort the problems hmm a year later the students left the agent hadn't been to check and these studnets had done a self conversion on our house converting it to self sealed rooms, fine we paid an agent surely they would sort it? no apparently they were jointly responsible so a more money the place was tidy again, so rental it wasn't worth it, but to sell surely we could make the money back and start again, this time we would do the donkey work with family, no we had the place on the market 18months without a single offer, so i went to see it myself, whilst on paper the house was great, in reality it was on a bus stop which worked form 6-30am till 11-30pm a bus every 15 mins right outside your door step, sounds great? no not the noise or the fumes from the fluless gas fire vents, then the social clubs empying and a dozen drunkards hanging from the window waiting for a bus all in all a disaster, we lost close to 20000, when we sold it, thats besides the mortgage for 20months, the fees to hand the keys in and pay the fines, exra charges so on so on, we could have sold to a company and lost 50,000 straight off, hmm all in all the worst mistake we ever made, we now own 2 places in the same area just 5 miles away, we have no problems, have lovely tennants, the family found the property and they also deal with any problems and do a check every 3 month on both just to make sure they aren't knocking/adding walls ha ha. I really don't want to sound a c omplete a**e, i know we were mainly to blame for thinking the woman was the expert and hung on her every figure, just wanted to say check it out for yourself before you sign away your savings : ) xx

Pass out, vomit, cry and then probably hysterically call my husband who wouldn't understand a word i was saying, he would then probably call the police thinking something had happened to me, Or i would go the other way and worry what to do with them till the police came, stupid things like would i put them in some ice. I honestly couldn't imagine what i would do, it would haunt me every day till i knew where they had come from and what happened t the child :(

Hi, Worldgirl, I put my 2 in mid term when i went back to have my youngest, i emailed the school dept of the council and said i needed places, the date i was back and the area i was going to live in, they were quite helpful the girl emailed a list of school with places, so i wasn't going back and forth saying what about here etc, then i downloaded the forms filled them in scanned and sent back, i gave my mother in laws address as ours, and any paperwork was sent to her, she just filled it in and sent it back for me, I think i started applying about 8 weeks before i went back, but it was quite painless, and the kids settled in within a couple of weeks and made some friends, then i uprooted them again poor kids ha ha

Aww I love bricklane, making me feel hungry lol, we used to order all the time when we were in the greens, but i doubt they come to no mans land in jvt :( Think the lad that has it is from liverpool, we used them all the time and never had a problem, they once forgot a dish but i was still unpacking the food and hadn't noticed when my phone went to say they had forgotten something but had sent another driver he would be with us in minutes, sure enough put the phone down and the buzzer went :)

Congratulations! Its hard not having a clue isn't it, i was in the same boat a couple of years ago, and i was all over the place worrying about what i was meant to do, you will need an antenatal package and delivery package, think the antenatal is about 4000, and a standard delivery around 10000, I actually went to umm sequimm clinic and al wasl for my ante natal package, then ended up going back to the UK to have him, because my hubby had to go back for a couple months with work.. anyway lol I can't be much more help than that, every hospital you look up will have good and bad reviews, I was planning on having my baby in al wasl just because they are a lot cheaper (think about 7000 for standard) and a lot of private hospital still transfer there if there is a problem so i decided i would be in good hands, hope you get a bit more info :)

We had a similar problem to this too, then they decided they would assess my son and said he had to re do reception (fs1) and couldn't gointo year one as he should have, so we had paid another 500 for the assessment, i knew my son wasn't that behind, he had missed a month of reception but that was it and i had got him a tutor for this time, in the end i put him in another school and he wasn't behind at all ( i think they just didn't have a place in yr 1 but still wanted the fees)

We had this problem not so long back, the gardener kept spraying every week, and said it was safe but not to go on the grass .. till the sun went down then it was fine! what the sun going down did i don't know lol, but i finally got him to show me what he was spraying and it was the same stuff this dursban, i looked online and found the same as you so stopped him spraying all together now if my garden needs "medicine" i have to buy it myself. I bet loads of people don't know the garden is being sprayed if they are at work etc :(
