Did you draw that one yourself. I haven't found a festive one yet. Am a bit under the weather will look later. Goodness no, my children were driving me mad so I googled 'pulling my hair out'. I'm so artistically hopeless that I can't even draw a stick figure  Me neither, I don't have an artistic bone in my body. :( I tried to draw a Santa hat on a little stick figure for an avatar but it looked a bit sad.

[b'>We took it yesterday and didn't like it. To get from JBR 2 to JBR 1 had to go all the way to Marina metro and change there. [/b'>Huge waste of time, it runs very slowly, only one machine to buy tickets and there were queues on every station, check in/check out point is inconveniently located and I couldn't even find it without asking. Bingo, I probably read the same websites as you. I used ACV and iodine and managed to get rid of a mole a few years ago and it never came back. My husband did the same thing with a wart and it worked as well. You have to sand it down a little first and put Vaseline on the outside as the ACV will irritate the skin. Soak cotton wool in the vinegar and tape it up. It took about a month to go. Try it and see. edited by Alismum on 15/12/2014

Tell him you wish to make a lovely salmon dish with a delicious chocolate dessert, and then add them to the shopping trolley. I am assuming you are the cook in your household (or maybe he is, that’s why he buys the ingredients he likes???) I really think it’s a bit too early to be discussing the D word, although he does need educating on how to act in a ‘partnership’ or a swift kick up the rear. Seems like you got the worse deal having to pay the rent, it’s not something that you can hold over him in the same way, like he appears to be doing with the grocery shopping. Maybe he feels a bit inadequate that you are paying the rent and this is way of taking a bit of control back. I think there’s more to the issue than chocolate and salad dressings though, is he controlling in other areas? Can you imagine spending the rest of your life with this man? Does he belittle you often? Is he happy he married you? That talk can’t come soon enough, put your cards on the table and tell him how you really feel and what needs to change. This sort of resentment is not healthy in a marriage. edited by Alismum on 13/12/2014 Thiss is an anonymous chat po. We know nothing abiu each other, other than what e pick up from reading what someone choses to tell. SO, having said that from the little I have read from the OP, she does not come across as the timid type. She has very confidently knocked down advice given to her which she deems not fitting. Timid people tend to silly say than yo for yor input, not challenge it. On that point, I believe there is a lot more at plat in this relationship personality wise than we are able to advise on. Again - how I see it. Not necessarily how it is. Yes I agree.

Cheeky Monkey, I like what you have said. Two people - equal - open your wallet not just your mouth. Equal is equal. I was in charge of money once and it really is a big responsibility when the other person is not a good spender. [b'>In this relationship, it seems he is in charge. So if bills do not get paid, OP, maybe OP's family, will come down on him - that he let the family down.[/b'> Every other thread on here is about how much it costs here now - [b'>if he is solely responsible for the family budgeting[/b'> he could be getting frustrated that you do not simply acknowledge that he is saying no as your daily is on a budget andyo are acting 'psycho' by not being switched on and seeing how expensive the world has become. The OP did say that she works as well and they share expenses, so he is not solely responsible for budgeting.. I have started working & we share expenses, grocery is entirely his responsibility Just a thought Hafsanaz but why don't you tell your husband that you will pay for the food shopping from now on from your salary and he can pay all other expenses. Would that be a fair exchange? edited by Alismum on 12/12/2014

I feel you really need to sit down and have a good talk with your husband. Name calling is never acceptable and you should tell him this. Regarding the shopping, perhaps he thinks the chocs or salad dressings are frivolous purchases. There are many men who think this way when they see their wives shopping habits. These men would be happy buying non branded cheap items, it's not so much a control thing. They just have a frugal mentality. Because this has become a bone of contention that is causing friction in your relationship, I would suggest you tell him that you wish to take the responsibility for grocery shopping off his hands. After all grocery shopping is a woman's job, since we are the chefs of the produce, we need to have control over the products we buy. (I am suggesting you say this so you can take control of the grocery spending, not because I agree that grocery shopping is a woman's job). Tell him to give you the money he would normally spend weekly, and you will take this burden off him and he will have more free time to pursue other interests, hang out with his friends etc. Then you can go grocery shopping alone and buy whatever you wish. edited by Alismum on 12/12/2014

Trip of a lifetime, I'm not sure. Teenagers are probably not going for the cultural surroundings, visits to museums, places of interest....boring!!! They are going to hang out with their class in foreign lands and to take a few selfies to show off when they come back. In my opinion a few days in a tent in the desert would suffice, one does not have to pay 10k for this. Would I send my child on a 4 day trip back to my home town and pay 10K for the privilege of walking in the drizzle, not on your nelly. edited by Alismum on 09/12/2014

Why can't you remove it yourself. Happened to me once in UK and I took it off myself. No I can't. First of all it's attacked to the stocking itself, and it needs the magnetic thingie to remove it. I managed to remove it with a knife and pliers (obviously it was a bought item  ) If you do a Google search they will tell you how to remove one without the magnetic thingy. I would give you a link but am on my phone. edited by Alismum on 07/12/2014

Interesting, my husband is currently doing this. He has lost 4 kilos so far. He has cut back a little bit, but before he started with the 8pm cut off he was snacking during the night til the early hours. Now he sleeps much better, doesn't wake up with a headache and snores less. I may try if myself, still got this Dubai stone to shift. ;) Sounds promising, how long did it take to lose 4 kg? About 6 weeks. Not really dieting, just changing eating habits a bit.

lol @ Lolacat, you are on fire tonight :) Hate to break it to some of you ladies...I don't know if things have changed, but almost all of the mortuary cosmetologists I worked with were men. By then, I suppose no one will care! Did they do nails? Sorry Joyce, massive divert, this is more interesting than a bearded ozzie baby deliverer [strike'>who was great[/strike'>. How does one become a mortuary Cosmo thingy? What made them want to choose the non-living? Really funny. No way. Never. A guy touching my feet? Ugh. Manicure is for the hands. He will not touch your feet. Feet or hands ... No way! Facial or massage ... Never! Is it even legal? Perhaps you could find a man in the big tourist hotels but in local salons (there are male hair stylists, I know). edited by mrsb. on 01/12/2014 Where do you stand on male dentists? Specifically? What is he charged with? OP may not want to reveal what DH is charged with.Does that affect her situation? Of course it does...... Depending on what he has done, affects whether people are willing to help. And sorry OP, i doubt your husband has done nothing wrong if he has been held for a year. Izzy, charged with ...........does NOT equate to guilty. And even if it did, the OP is an innocent party in great difficulty. OP, I no longer live in UAE and cannot offer you any constructive help or advice, except to wish you all the best. And, I have wanted to say this for a long time, EW used to be a very different forum. Perhaps we were more trusting, or more naive. but it was certainly a kinder place. All the accounts of days of old in Dubai are very interesting. :) [Di said'> [i'> I went home to have all my children, for reasons as Shaks described, and always traveled quite near my due date, with my third baby I only just made it home, had contractions on the flight all the way trying to convince myself must be indigestion,my mother took me straight from Heathrow to the London hospital I was booked at and I flew back days later with my new daughter. I must have been crazy to have risked it that late![/i'> Di, so did you have to cross your legs for the duration of the trip then? Giving birth sounded very primitive in those days, can't blame you for going home. I liked the pictures, especially the one with the plane full of falcons. I'm out next year. It's too expensive and things just drive me crackers here now. [b'>Wait and see if the UAE follows Kuwait and only allows expats to stay for 5 years and forbids them from bringing families. [/b'>Wouldn't surprise me. Are you serious? I didnt know Kuwait is doing that now...how terrible. The new law will apply to unskilled and semi skilled workers, which will mainly affect the low paid Asian expats. GCC, European Union and US citizens are exempt, also new law will not apply to professionals and those in skilled jobs.

Is it only me or.................... Thats my favorite topic these days. Can't tell you how much ****** off I am. Seriously considering to move from Dubai....but when doing calculations, Dubai is still cheaper than many other countries. I only fear, what if they remove rent increase cap? What if they make visas from 2 years to year and we need to do renewals every year? This year end is full of surprises, let see what new year brings for us. Not very optimistic I am !!!! I hope they don't lower the duration of the visa. I read that Saudi are introducing 5 year residency permits for expats, at the moment they have to be renewed annually. Maybe Dubai will follow suit, I certainly hope so. Will make a big difference.

I agree Londiamond, for westerners the taxis may be cheaper than home, but here's the demographics of Dubai from 2013. [i'>Demographics of Dubai. The population of Dubai is 2,109,274. Approximately 85% of the expatriate population (and 71% of the emirate's total population) was Asian (chiefly Indian, Pakistani, Filipino, Bangladeshi and Sri Lankan). About 3% of the total population of Dubai was categorized as "Western".[/i'> So for a lot of the 85% Asian expat population, the 2 Dirhams per journey might not be so cheap. Only 3% Western, hmm that's interesting I never realised this. edited by Alismum on 27/11/2014
