There's no harm with you meeting with another one from the same or a different hospital if you can find one you like the sound of. If you have strong feelings that you should change then do it. I did at around the 36 week mark when my OBGYN made a stupid comment and took the mickey out of me and I hated him there and then and wanted to change. I didn't get the birth I wanted in the end and didn't have any confidence in him at all. Looking back I wish I had changed the first time he laughed 'at' me which was at 30 weeks!! Next time (if there is a next time) I would go with my gut feeling a bit more. Good luck with whatever you decide x

Hi everyone, Zocco we had a very similar experience :( I had my EC on 21st, they got 10 eggs out of the 12 follies. The EC was a horrible experience that I will not repeat without GA. They gave me a double dose of sedation and I didn't sleep and felt every moment of it :( After it was over I felt fine and just had some cramping. The next morning no phonecall - I knew that this meant bad news, and I was right. My DH's fresh sample contained no swimmers so they had to use frozen. They thawed one stack but none of the swimmers were usable, they thawed the second stack and were able to use that. Four of my eggs were no good, I don't know if this meant they were bad quality or not mature enough? Our of the 6 left only three were injectable and 24 hours later only one of them was showing signs of fertilisation. On the 23rd I went in to have ET and had 2 embies back. Both had shown signs of fertilisation but they didn't tell me to what state of division they were in, all I know is that on the monitor before they went into the catheter they looked totally different to the other eggs that were no good. my third egg did not fertilise. So I have 2 on board and they were really a 2 day transfer as the Dr said they would be better off inside me than in the lab. I found ET easy, that day I rested at home. The next morning I had bloating and some pain but not unmanageable. Late afternoon I bloated up to popping point, had pain when stood, sat or lying down and was in agony with trapped wind! I stayed in bed feeling awful. This morning the bloating has gone down and I can move again :) TBH I am not feeling very hopeful, it didn't go as I wanted at all and I think I would be loathe to go through all that again with the same clinic. Once my ovaries have healed Dr Fakih is our next option, I need results and knew I should have gone with him in the first place but went with Dr Munira because my DH didn't like Dr Fakih and needed someone who could explain and go through it with him. Dr M is lovely but I think she played it too safe with me and I also feel our IVF was rushed so that it would all be over before Eid holiday. I'm no expert but on my last scan I only had 2 follies that were over 18mm and in the UK they don't do the trigger shot normally till you have 3. I'm guessing that my follies weren't mature enough but if I had stimmed for a few more days my ET would have fallen in Eid!!! I would love to be proved wrong on my OTD 2nd November :) Good luck to you Zoco :) p.s. sorry for the essay!

The trigger was different for me, I was told only to take half the dose in the pre-filled syringe so we marked off a line (making sure the air bubble was out the way) and then I did go slightly over the line. I have no idea why it was half a dose for me?? You know, with regards to your eggs (and you shouldn't be dissapointed with 7 although I know what you mean when ur hopes have been raised by the number they got out) I am sure that they do the trigger a bit early in this country. I read in the UK it should be done when you have 3 or more follies over 18mm but I only had 2 that size when I triggered. The others are expected to catch up in the 36 hours before collection but if they are still immature when they come out then they are unlikely to fertilise. What has happened to you is also my concern but saying that, I would be grateful for any amount right now. I can't wait till tommorrow is over and done with but I am impatient and hate waiting so the slog through to Friday (My ET date) will be long and hard and the further slog through to OTD will be even longer and harder lol!!! So glad you don't have any side effects, hope it stays like that for you. When is your ET?

Thats really fantastic Zoco, well done, fingers crossed for you! You'll be checking your phone every second waiting for that phonecall now ;) Glad ur not having any major pain too. Our problem is MFI too and it worries me that the swimmers may not be good enough but we managed to concieve naturally 2 years ago with only 10million and 20% motility so the ones that were swimming must have been good quality right? Our IVF Dr said that we were very lucky to have caught with that amount and she seemed fairly hopeful that this could work. Last scan yesterday showed 12 follies, all above 13mm but only one above 18mm and that was actually 22mm So I am praying that they are ready in time as EC is def Sunday morning! I am doing my trigger shot tonight but it's under my tummy button again so I'm ok with that. Have been googling all day and reading up on whats next and other's experiences - so thanks for sharing :) and I will share my story come Sunday x

Yeah I have found that my little boy is the same, gets bored easily and through the summer we relied on TV too much. What area of dubai are you from? I signed up to a music class to get us out of the house once a week, we also do a play date once a week, twice a week now it's cololer we walk to our local supermarket - he loves to go for a walk. We will start going to the park again soon too. We bought loads of playdoh and a playdoh kit with extruder and stamper and he loves to make 'wiggly worms', we bought an indoor slide and a small trampoline for summer exercises indoors and I have now bought a balance bike and a sandpit for him to start using in the garden. I also put up flashcards on the walls of our villa and I test him every day on objects, animals, shapes and family members lol!!!

Yeah I second the log! We always used to worry that DS wasn't taking in as much as the box of formula said but thats only a guide. My son also used to have smaller but more frequent feeds but it all evened out in the end. Sometimes I guess their tummys are smaller than we think and they can't handle a lot of formula in one go. As DohaHW said just watch the weight gain, if it's going up or staying steady then she's getting enough so there's no problem. We ended up starting weaning at 4.5 months with our son, just a baby rice for breakfast until he was 6 months. I have never seen him wolf food down so quickly he loved it and it was then he started to take more milk in one session. x

Hi Zoco, someone in the same situation as me :) I am a little behind you in my IVF as my egg collection isn't until Sunday. I have been a slow responder otherwise it would have been Thursday too. So far I have done all the injections myself as I am not scared of needles and although I did mess up one and ended up with half a dose I have managed all the others no problem. When it comes to giving myself a shot in the backside or thigh it might be a different story! I too have found this an emotional rollercoaster, one day I am happy and positive and then next wishing I had a bottle of prozac lol!!! I cried at my OBGYN's yesterday and told her I wanted to cancel my cycle as I didn't have as many follies as I wanted. Of course it was the hormones talking and now I feel a fool. My DH has been amazing and I couldn't have done this without his support, he was the voice of reason yesterday and saved me from pulling the plug on everything. My right ovary doesn't work but my left one has 8 large follies and 10 smaller ones. My right one is paining me quite badly which the Dr cannot explain :( Otherwise everything has been ok so far. I was on 75/75 menopur/gonal-f but am now on 112.5 gonal-F and cetrotide (which brings me out in a rash). I haven't had my egg collection yet but I have had a needle aspiration before under sedation. If you would rather sleep then try to do some deep and slow breathing and a little relaxation exercise when you start at your feet, tense them for a few secs and then release and then work up your body until every part of you is relaxed. if you are relaxed you are more likley to fall asleep and miss all the procedure. Some women have pain after so take some paracetamol (sure the clinic will give you something anyway) but not all do so don't worry (ha ha! says she who is also freaking out!). I try to check in here most days so would love to get an update of how your procedure went :) Lots of luck to you, lets hope they get lots of lovely healthy eggs and they all fertilise, will keep my fingers crossed for you x

I used Gina Ford only because that was the routine DS was almost in anyway from his own accord. I always tried just putting DS down and letting him self-soothe but it never worked and I would have to go up to him a few times before he settled. He started teething quite early too and this didn't help so I just thought nevermind and would cuddle him to sleep and put him down. After a lot of his teeth came through there was a little break in him being whingey at bedtime and I decided to start the self-soothing again, he cry-whinged the first night for 20 minutes. It wasn't his upset gulping cry it was just whinging for me so I ignored it and left him and he settled himself and we haven't looked back since! If he had been upset I would have gone to him as I too don't think I could do the CIO method. He is 2 years old now and a brilliant sleeper, the only nights he ever wakes up are when he has a cold, otherwise he sleeps 7 - 6.30am with a 2 hours+ nap in the day. One thing I would say is do what YOU feel is best for your baby, just follow your gut instinct and you'll find something that works for you x

Oh Hilsbils I've only just seen your sad news now, I hope ur ok? sending you big hugs and should you decide to try again I wish you all the luck in the world as you so deserve it. Sometimes I find that our OH's need a little seed of an idea planting in their minds and then time to think about it,maybe if you bring up the adoption again shortly he may change his mind. Don't write of IVF yet, it was ur first attempt yes? Its strange you mention the ecoli-gastro after your procedure at City Hospital, I had that too withn hours of a procedure there and I hadn't eaten anything all day and the evening before had the same food as DH who was fine (and I normally have a stronger constitution than him!). I came away thinking that the hospital musn't be very clean?? Take some time to try and relax and prepare yourself for whatever journey you take next, hugs x

thanks hilsbils, you didn't mention if everything is ok with you?? So does Dr Munira do every afternoon in DMMC? I don't think he could come with me, especially not on the scan days as he doesn't like to sit still, better if I have someone who can push him around the mall or let him walk around :)

Hi everyone, Hilbils how is everything going? all ok I hope :) I actually need some advice please. I saw Dr M for a follow-up appoint today and she said I can start IVF treatment next week (eek!) as thats when I am due on. She said that she is not in the DMMC every day and so I would need to do my injections in the afternoon but have my scan first. I am confused!!! what times did you do your menopur injections? I have a 2 yr old son and was going to hire an agency nanny for the mornings say 7 till 2 every day but if my appointments have to be afternoons and that could make it more difficult for me. I would have to get the Nanny 2pm till 6pm or something similar and hope that traffic doesn't delay me from getting home. I actually asked her to explain twice but I had my son with me in the appointment room and I was distracted by him so didn't quite understand! I take it I have to go there for a scan first and then do my injection after the scan dependant on the scan results?? does Dr Munira work in DMMC every afternoon? Help!!!

Hi, yeah I've seen the table and don't think that I want one for him as my brothers had a table for their cars and they always played on the floor. But I do like the little stool for sale by the same person. I will look on the classifieds now thanks but anyone else selling feel free to let me know - thanks in advance :)

you're always going to find someone who asks you for money and unfortunatley they normally ask because you are being too nice to them. Read on before you start thinking how awful I am!!! When I first came here and made friends who had been here for a while I thought how some of them were quite rude to their staff (gardener/maid) and wondered why because they were really nice people - to me. After I while I saw why. I was friendly towards our building supervisor, just saying hello and smiling as I went by, and after a while he started to come and knock on my door and say Hi and then over the months he started to ask for money for his sick mother or to borrow the car all of which me and my DH said no too. In the end he started to become a pest and all because we had just been friendly as we would to people of our nationality. We moved from there into a villa and had a gardener and he started to do the same thing to the point where I ended up ignoring the door bell after seeing it was him. Last year we moved again to a different area and hired a gardener. I open the door say 'yes?', give him water if he asks for it or a dustbin bag, close the door and thats it. I told him when he started with us if he asked for money I would fire him. I don't smile at him but I do say thankyou if I see him when he is leaving. At Ramadan I gave him a bonus because he is Muslim. He never bothers me for money on top of his salary and if he did I would remind him of our conversation as a warning and fire him the next time he did it. And that is unfortunatley as nice as I am now :(

Hilsbils great news about the scan :) If your going to get morning sickness (lucky if you don't!) it should kick in round about now!!! My insulin test came back normal so no need for more metformin for me - yay! But also bad news as it means I am just fat because I eat too much ;) Follow up appointment on 26th and I am finally getting ov signs on CD41 of my cycle!!! so she should be able to scan me and see a CL on my ovary. This is our last natural try before the IVF and even tho theres no real hope of me getting pregnant with such low and immotile swimmers its still worth a try as it only takes one lol!!

My boy dropped his morning nap at around 14 months, I wud put him down and he just wouldn't fall asleep but by 11 was tired so I started giving him half his lunch at 10.30, putting him down at 11am and then letting him sleep till 2 and feeding him the other half of lunch then. Gradually he changed to not sleeping till 12 and then 12.45 and now at aged 2 he sleeps from 1pm through till 3pm (if he has done enough physical stull in the morning otherwise its 2pm - 3pm) and then I put him down at 6.45pm and he sleeps straight through till 6.30 or 7am normally. I never let him sleep past 7am tho (getting him used to the early mornings that come with nursery and school!!)

Hi, why don't you join Mirdif mums, there are lots of ladies there who have children that age and they either meet on a Monday morning or a wednesday afternoon. If you get chatting to the mums you can arrange play dates outside of the meets like I have :) http://www.mirdifmumsdubai.com/ and they're on facebook too

Thanks awayfromhome :) Its ok she called me and I'm doing the insulin test on Saturday now after two failed attempts at getting out of the door due to not being ready on time and little man playing up lol!! Had some good news tho, they found some swimmers in DH's sample (yay!) so they are now on ice and he is taking Proxeed to see if the count and motility will improve so he can give a fresh cycle on my egg collection date. I do feel a bit in limbo now tho because I don't know whats going to happen next or when I am supposed to get in touch with them or if they will do any hormone tests on me in my next cycle. Plus I am on CD36 today and I still haven't ovulated yet (I normally do on CD32 to cd36) and there is no sign of it happening at all - typical!

Well you could try the Wellwoman supplements which are supposed to be hormone balancing? Also do a Google search for hormone balancing supplements which should give you a list of ones that you could take. Drink lots of water too :)

Love happy endings :) I started off BFing my DS but then was told by the hospital to stop due to my illness after the birth. I was so gutted so I expressed for 4 days to keep the milk there, and then we tried again but he wouldn't latch properly despite the LC helping me :( So it was back to expressing for me and after 6 weeks of feeling like a cow I gave up and bottle fed him with formula. I had my meeting with Dr Munira this week. Lovely lady, she was very informative and personable and we both liked her which is important. DH is off to Concieve tomorrow to open our file and give a SS for assesment. If there are some there they will freeze them ready for our first attempt at icsi. I am having an insulin test as I have PCOS and she wants to see if I should up my dose of metformin which I have been taking for weightloss. I am on CD31 of my cycle and haven't ov'd yet and she could see a large follicle on my right ovary (which normally doesn't work!) so I am guessing I won't see af until another 3 weeks now. However she wants me to wait until my next cycle before we start which will mean waiting till the end of November. We have a guest coming then so don't really want to be starting hormone treatment and ranting about with a friend staying in the house! I have a plan :) If they don't find any swimmers on sunday then we may go to Dr Fakih to get started on my next af. I am still waiting for Dr Munira's nurse to call me about the insulin test - does anyone remember her name? think I will have to call her.

I had DS in a co-sleeper up until the age of 3 months and then moved him into a cotbed sized cot with full surround bumpers. People have been using cot bumpers for years so I don't see the harm in them as long as they are used and fitted correctly - I personally prefer Mothercare ones that are quite stiff with good ties. Because they are quite tall you can also tuck them into the sides of the mattress and still have a good height around the cot. There is so much advice about what to do and what not to do. I say go with what you think you want. If you do use them just watch how your baby is with them. If your baby is a mover in his/her sleep then you might feel its best to remove them for a while until older. Once your baby starts trying to escape from the cot then take them out so they can't be used for climbing. The co-sleeper I used was a very well-known american brand with padding on the sides. If I had been using a cot for the first 3 months I would probably have used the bumpers to protect DS from the airconditioning blowing right on him and placed him in a sleep positioner to keep him away from the sides. But I couldn't imagine putting him in a cot straight away because even tho he was a big baby he would have been dwarfed by the size of the cotbed cot!!!!

My son always used to sleep with his head pointing to the left, and now as a 2 yr old he has a slightly flatter spot on the left side. I tried to get him to change his sleeping position, moving him from his back to his side and in the day when we would hold him or let him sleep on us we always made sure that side wasn't touching a surface but it didn't make any difference. Its not very noticeable anyway now and when his hair is slightly longer than shaved short you can't even see it. Don't worry too much about it just make an effort to stop it getting worse.

My boy had a fisher price swing with a big stand and a fish theme that we got second hand. I ha a section and managed to get him in it no problems. It was a fantastic piece of equipment and gave dh and I some much needed down time, plus DS loved it and would snooze happily. It ran off big batteries and we just bought some rechargeable ones which would last two or three dAys. Well worth the money. You can get them from toys r us too

Hello allowicious. Its definitely IVF too. Up to 17k usd. Good luck. Keep me posted!xx Wow!! I just read all our insurance documents and saw they mention something about 18 months, I am guessing you have to be with them for 18 months before they will pay for IVF? or does it mean that you can have the treatment 18 months from the date you get diagnosed as infertile? There's a little spark of excitement in me now thinking that if we can get two goes paid for on the insurance then that means we can have 4 goes altogether before we have to do some more saving!! hope my excitement doesn't get put out!!! Thanks for your help confusion & everyone. Hillsbils, I had nothing until 6 weeks when the sickness and nausea came on me and I lost a whole stone in weight because I could barely eat anything until 16 weeks!!! My friend put 4 stone on in her pregnancy but it was mainly bloating/water retention as her baby was 6lbs in weight (mine was nearly 10!!!). Hope you're feeling ok x

We used to go to Fun City in Ibn Battuta and DS loved it. Occasioanlly we would get older boys in there but the staff would warn us and ask if we still wanted to go in which we did as I would just tell them to be careful. DS loved the baby area of fun city there but didn't like the Oasis Centre one which had lots of toys but only a small baby area. I have heard that Extreme fun is a nice place to go to. Now my boy is 2 we go to Playnation in MCC which is nice but he always manages to bang himself on the wooden slide and I don't like the fact that the floor isn't padded. I agree about the germs bit, the state of some of these places does make you cringe but honestly when I was little and living in the country the amount of disgusting things I touched and the germs I caught just made me into a healthy individual. I know you want your baby to be safe but she does need these germs to build up an immune system, if you see her chewing on a ball with a dried bogey on it just take it out of her mouth lol!!! What a horrid thought :) Cleaning her hands before and after she goes in with some antibacterial wipes will help a little.

Scott's, I have heard about DHEA also being good for egg quality but the micronised DHEA which I don't think they have in Dubai so you would have to get it online. A pharmacist checked for me and said it would get through customs as no ingredients in it that are banned. Also heard royal jelly, bee pollen and coq10, selenium are good too. I reckon anything is worth a try! If you google Ivf and poor egg quality you will forums with lists of what people have taken. Lots of luck to you Hun I had to cancel my Ivf appointment this week due to my DS being poorly with croup and a cold so rescheduled for next week. Read my insurance and it says it covers infertility treatment up to $17k but don't know whether this is diagnosis of infertility or for actual Ivf treatment?? Hoping it's both as that would be a real help!!!

no there wasn't a nick in my bowel they did a colonoscopy 3 times. The fluid was either side of my womb and was infected with e-coli and when it came out it was like pus! Yeah it was horrible lol!! not something I would like to repeat but hasn't put me off wanting more children hee hee!! Dr Ib even said it could have been from something not cleaned properly in the hospital or that I had it in me already and had I been feeling unwell or had the runs previously!! err nope. 2 days before my contractions started I was constipated and then the morning they started I had the runs which is why I new it wouldn't be long, you know how they say that your body prepares etc. Oh well, nothing I can do about it, just learn and make better choices next time :)

There might not be much on Dubizzle at the moment because it is the summer holidays. When everyone is back you will fond more on there. What specific items are you looking for? I bought most of my stuff from Babyshop, Mothercare or Dubizzle. Some things I bought brand new as I wanted them to be cleaner/more hygenic, but I always waited for the sales to get them. I bought toys in sales but also off Dubizzle in bulk and items that could be washed or wiped down. Great deals on stuff like Jumperoos or swings and playpens can be found on there. I got a bumbo for 35dhs, baby gates for under 50dhs each etc. Somebody on this site recommends babycare dot nl for buying baby strollers as they are cheaper than dxb and will ship here. Do a search and you will see what they paid.

We are going to do the initial tests and consultation with her to make sure my DH gets clued up on the process and also for him to get some tests done but not sure if we will go the whole route with her or Dr Fakih yet. I had my son at City in Sept 2010 with Dr Ibrahim and I didn't have a very good experience. I suggest that if you meet with a OBGYN and you have ANY, even the slightest, bad feeling or doubt about them not to see them again. I did with Dr Ibrahim but I stuck with him and at one point even felt that he was taking the mickey out of me a bit and was more interested in chatting with my DH than me. My pregnancy was easy but when it came to the birth, despite me wanting it as natural as possible, I had every intervention going and felt pressured into having them because I was a first time mum. I didn't get the birth I wanted, I ended up with an emergency c-sec and was soooooo upset about that. Don't get me wrong I would have another c-sec in a heartbeat if it was necessary because I felt fine after 3 weeks, but it was everything that happened before and afterwards, hospital related and OBGYN related. I do feel that some OBGYNs don't consider what YOU need. For example I wanted to give birth on all fours or stood up but was told by Dr Ibrahim that he only delivers babies with the mother lying on her back! I should have looked for another OBGYN and hospital because I ended up with an ecoli infection from the hospital which stopped my bowels from working, I wasn't allowed to eat or drink for 2 days to try and kick start my bowels, I had to have a drain fitted in my abdomen to get rid of fluid that had escaped there, a needle aspiration to remove more fluid from the opposite side, I couldn't feed my baby because my milk was poor and I was upset because I was ill. And then I caught amoebic dyssentry off someone there which went undiagnosed for 8 weeks!!! That was 8 weeks of stomach cramps, the runs, ct scans, colonoscopy, enemas (not that they were needed!!!), a variety of pills and antibiotics, some of which I became resistant too, 3 visits to A&E in severe pain, hours of lying on a bed with a rehydration drip in my arm because of all the runs and all this whilst trying to cope with a little newborn. I was in hospital for 2 weeks altogether It ended up being my family GP at DLC that diagnosed and treated me, not the hospital despite me being under 3 Drs there! We are hoping to have another child and I would not go back to that hospital or see Dr Ibrahim again.

Hey ladies, I'm 38 and starting IVF in the next two months depending on when af arrives!!! I am blessed to have a DS already but absolutley desperate to have a sibling for him. I have PCOS but that doesn't affect me getting pregnant apart from it makes my cycles longer so I have less chances to try than everyone else, our problem this time is with my DH who is azoospermic now, he is 47. Good luck with your treatments and fingers crossed for a positive outcome for you all.

You actually don't need the monitor to work these sticks so don't waste your money. If your post had been 3 months earlier you could have had mine as I sold it due to noting how the sticks work. Do your test (I dip the sticks into a container of pee for 15 seconds), then wait. If the line on the right hand side, furthest away from the end you dip into the pee is darkest then your fertility is low. Keep testing. When the lines go even in colour that means you are in high fertility. Keep testing, I normally test every morning at 10am and then again at 4pm. When the line nearest the end you dip into the pee is darkest this is your peak and you will ov very soon. The lines sometimes then go back to both being equal again but this does not mean high fertility. You should keep testing till the line on the right, furthest away from the end you dip in pee is the darkest again as this means you are back to low fertility. Good luck x

Its good to read a thread like this and Felix was good to read your experience with the transfer, can I ask how much your treatment totalled in Dhs? My DH and I are very lucky to have concieved a beautiful son following a successful Vasectomy reversal. My son is 1.5 yrs old and we decided to have a sibling for him. We have been trying since August 2011 with no luck. My DH had a SA yesterday and his very low count has decreased to 4million per ml and zero motility. We are both devastated to say the least. When we were trying for our son we were told that we would need IVF treatment and went to see Dr Fakih. I didn't know during our initial consultation that we were already 2 weeks pregnant! Dr Fakih was very to the point and 1 minute from meeting him he said we needed IVF. My DH didn't like the feel of the clinic and to be honest I didn't take to Dr Fakih at all so we went away feeling like there was no hope. I am now faced with the desicion of whether to go ahead with IVF or not so reading this thread has been very helpful. I don't work but I do look after my son full time and obviously would have to make some childcare arrangements for my visits to the clinic. Its a lot to think about! I never thought this would happen to us but at least we have been blessed with our son :) Good luck everyone

My DS is having a phase with breakfasts at the moment and if it not a complete puree/non lumpy substance he will not eat it - but I put that down to teething because he used to eat anything and everything! If you haven't already tried the porridge I would go with that, its one of the only things my DS will eat atm, he also eats Weetabix but has to have puree in it otherwise he just spits it out. If there is a little flake or an oat that hasn't gone soft he pulls the most hilarious faces trying to spit it out of his mouth, Have you signed up for the Annabel Karmel newsletter as she emails free recipies which you could use/alter and also she puts them on her Facebook page. If you are not a fan of hers then I am sure there are other people/chefs whose websites have some good kids recipies. BBC good food is another one I sometimes look at. How old is your DD by the way? she's not being fussy because of teething is she?

It could be a side effect, my son had his MMR and that night he vomited 3 times and had a mild temp but he was back to normal the next day. I researched on the internet but it just said that side effects are fevers or in some cases a rash which appears a few weeks after. Hope he gets better soon

It is the same one yeah. I have now found the grey cat but haven't had a chance to nip back and change the poster to just showing the black cat. Just don't understand why he hasn't come back and starting to think he is dead :( I am so worried that he must be really hungry as he doesn't have many teeth so I doubt he could eat anything he could catch. Plus, if I don't find him before it gets hot again then he could die of heat exhaustion as he only used to go out in the summer evenings for half an hour at a time and would come back panting. I miss him so much :( Thank you for keeping an eye out for him

My Dr put me on Metformin (Glucophage) with a dose of 500mg in the morning and 1000mg at night. Taking the later dose before I went to bed really helped me. But I only had side effects for about 4 days (runs and nausea) and then it stopped. Also I started on 500mg, waited until I was used to it and then went up another 500mg and then another - apparently its better to do that than take the full whack immediately. I was on it for 3 months and got pg in the 3rd month. I am now on my 2nd month of it again for baby no.2 :) There is a slow release version of Glucophage, maybe its worth trying that?? If not then the other suggestion about the inofolic sounds worth a try? Good luck

I am sure there are still some 150's for sale in the UK, have you done a Google search? I think I got my last one off the Boots website. Have you called the Dubizzle lady and got a refund as she shouldn't be selling broken goods!

I read in a book (either Gina Ford or Tizzie Hall) that you should put her down to sleep, wait until she is just dozing off and then softly pull the dummy out! if she wakes re-insert the dummy and repeat until she falls asleep and stays asleep without it. Personally I gave a dummy to my son and just kept going in to him to put it back in his mouth when it fell out until he reached an age where he could do it himself and then I gave him 6 dummies in his cot to make sure he could always find one. Iwhen I was pregnant I was dead against dummies but the hospital gave him one and we kept using it as he liked it. I am going to let him have it until he is 2 and then we are going to do the 'bin' thing. Good luck, hope you can manage to wean her :)

Thanks Loopyloo, I still haven't found him, had many calls about a cat in the DSO residences but he quite obviously hasn't been neutered whereas my boy has!! Plus my boy looks like someone's pet and not a stray cat which has a down side because unless he looked like he was starving people probably wouldn't look twice at him. I am very grateful for all the calls I have had though even though some of them have been about the same cat lol!! Hope you find yours too x
