As far as I know, Shalini Shinde, has her own company Designers Space, its down the same street as Sofa studio. I had my curtains done by them last year and recently had new sofa made - I must say they do beautiful and neat work and very resonable in price. As I know Sofa Studio gets all the soft furnishing done from them. I would go direct to her, she is very understable, effecient and had wonderful team. I would highly recommend her. Yah! i do remember meeting Nadine (German girl !!!) at her place couple of times. From the Sofa Studio website. They are in the Courtyard at Al Quoz, not the Lime Tree side, but the other. First shop on the right on the 1st floor - you get the stairs up there from the outside. I talked to Nadine and she was great. Hi Are you fine, I am bit worried hope all goes well There have been a few developments. I got in from work at about 7 pm last night and the house felt very cold. I went into the living room to put the lights and the telly on. The remote was missing so I couldn't change the channels! The favourites list was up too so I couldn't see the screen. So I started to look for the remote and I searched high and low. I then got very annoyed and started yelling at whatever was in the house to go away and leave me alone! I think my neighbours think im mad. The room then started to warm up, probably because I was in it and screaming at nothing! I went into the bedroom and it was still freezing in there. I had to put a jacket on. I sat in the living room for a few hours and at about 9 pm the animals started barking and hissing so I of course started panicking. I called my best friend and she came over and we said a few prayers in the bedroom! We really must have sounded and looked utterly ridiculous! She left at around 11 pm and I then called a friend of mine that lives in England, he is a Reiki Master and said he would cleanse my home. He called me back to tell me that he had asked an earthbound male spirit with a bad attitude to leave. He said he didn't know why he was being asked to leave and said he was really arrogant! He got him to leave though and put a pyramid of light over my entire building. I still couldn't sleep though I was so spooked! I think I got an hour last night in all so I really hope when I get in tonight that the house feels safer and I can get a good nights sleep!!! I think your imagination has so much to do with this sort of thing. I was beyond terrified last night so even when I was told my house was safe and sound I still couldn't sleep. If it all continues I will go to a church and seek advice from a priest but if all is well tonight (and I am praying it will be) then I will finally get some sleep and the heart palpitations can stop! Thank you all again for your advice and support and for not calling me insane!

You can find these materials in Meena Bazaar, BUr Dubai - these days they 80% of shops are having GUld AHmed & Jamshed and other designers material. Also try Khadi on Jumeirah Beach Road near Mercato - They have really beautiful material stiched & unstiched

Except for drinking, I use tap water and I have installed a filter that I purchased from Better Life 3 years back, they will come and install but you would require a plumber. Also check Lulu & carefour, you may get something cheaper and easy to install.

Hi I really feel for you, as others advised, get a friend for few days and at the same time try Holy Water and if you have Holy chants then please let it play all the time and lit a candle or incense stick. I hope all will be OK soon & if not then better leave the place, money can be earned but not health. God Bless

Can you please recommend a good physiotherapist / clinic in the Jumeirah / Um suqaim areas where i can have physio done? I go to Dr Ahmed Faris, his clinic number is 04 3282686. Excellent doctor and very good staff. I go for my Chiro & physio His clinic in on Jumeirah Beach Rd, near Burj Al Arab (on you way facing Dubai), Next to Global Eye

Best time to go to Karama for shopping is at noon time or just before 4pm- there are 2 big parking area just in front of theese bag shops in the shopping complex and parking are easily available during these hrs

I had mine done from a company at Al Quoz 04 347 6093 , they do from frame to re-upholstry of lamp shade.try them but they do not install at site. I got an electrician. Overall I was very happy with my lampshade

Hi I had my daughter's B'day party organised in Creek Park in 2009, had buffet organised from one of the restuarant and clebrated near a play and b'bque area. No hassles at all. Just need to see that others in the park are not discturbed, so no loud music and need to clean up before leaving

Hi All I have been stuglling with head lice that my little one got from school and when the school came to knew about it they made her sit at home and instructed me not to send to school untill the last nit is out. I tried all sorts of shampoos, mayonaise, vinegar but the best worked was Naptholeane tablets (you can get in any supermarkets) and mustard oil. Make powder of Naptholene tablets and soak in Mustard oil for 2-3hrs and apply the oild on the scalp and hair, leave it for 2-3hrs and wash it with normal shampoo and conditioner. Trust me its Magic, no more headlice and they say that if you repeat this treatment once more after 5 to 6months the child will never have headlice in her lifetime. The hair was abosolutely clean with nits when I got my daughter out of shower and started combing, even the nits were diasspeared. But next day do some oil massage or apply mayonaise or youghurt because I found dandurf on my little one scalp after this treatment. <em>edited by an11 on 03/01/2012</em>

We've just had a quote for some blinds and we have been quoted 9000AED for the following: Living room vertical blinds - 2000AED, these are full length balcony doors roughly 30 feet by 11 feet 3 bedrooms Roman blinds with black out fabric attached. The windows are full length (11 ft) and the main bedroom has double full length windows maybe 15 foot wide each side. Do you think this is a good price? If its not can you recommend anyone cheaper? I also had Shalini from designer space, she is 30% more expensive than khaled from the white house for the same requirement. Made curtain all linen or cotton for 13000aed for 5br and 3 sitting room. 17000 ead+ from designer space. [b'>I agree with Sadubai, a lot depends on what you must have asked for, I got 14roman blinds (some had designs), 2 curtains, throw cushuons & 3 chairs made as per my design from Shalini of Designers Space & all of it costed me with fabrics was Dhs20590/-, I have been living in Dubai for past 11yrs and I can bet that She is reasobale when you compare the quality and service Shalini provides[/b'>
