tanks so much everyone, I really appreciate it. I've done some more digging about and spoke to a couple of people who have had it done here. They said they had a fab doctor, but the nursing care was lacking (one of them was a nurse herself and had practised here in dubai, so she should know!). Still pondering. My instinct was UK but I would like to be able to come back to my own bed/home etc and not be apart from the kids and husband. I will continue my enquiries! Thanks again

After arriving here finally finding a wonderful family doctor, it seems Dr Carol Smylie (and her husband) have left Dubai London Clinic (Carol Smylie was in Festival City). Does anyone know where they have gone? or how to track them down! Disaster!

Ive been looking too at the school in VH, it is apparently going to open in september. We are still in the UK but attended the open day at the Els club when we on a scouting trip and it looked good. We've been looking at villas on VH too, this website is quite good. the only frustrating thing is that on all the sites they don't have that many pics. You should be able to get a nice 4 bed for 200-240 (by the looks of things!). I have been dealing with an agent for the Ranches who has offered to put me in touch with her colleague who covers VH - let me know if it would help to get this for you. Thanks all so much. I've looked on the classifieds and there looks a good volume and mix of maids and nannies, I feel a bit calmer that it will all come good in the end. So for now I'm parking this 'problem' til later when I can actually do something about it! First job - schools. Thanks again, its really reassuring that there parents who both work full time and happily make it work for the family. I dont think it will take me long to get my head around havign extra help at home ... I'll probably look back and wonder how I ever managed with my sanity intact! Ange

The following were popular with my two (a boy and a girl) during toddledom ... We're going on a bear hunt - Michael Rosen I think Little Rabbit Foo Foo Some dogs do all of these rhyme and come with CDs, so you're able to learn the tune and 'sing' them - I found they were also used at nursery as well, so the kids became really familiar with them and were happy to join in. From a publisher point of view, Usborne do some great touchy feely 'flip-flap' books etc, and also walkerbooks.co.uk have a lot of good titles - I found they loved these for years so were really good value for money. Finally, anything Thomas the Tank engine went down a storm for both of them. Hope that helps! Ange

Thanks for your replies! I'm hoping that they will either be attending DESS (I can dream!), or either of the new ones at Victory Heights or Kings in nad al sheba 3 (which I've been told will both run a bus service). So it looks like my options are a live in maid, but to try and find one with the right experience (I'm guessing this is what everyone looks for and they may be in short supply!). Could you recommend any agencies? or at least flag ones to avoid ...?! Thanks again Ange
