BH - Bl00dy hubby? You have to bear in mind sweetie, that man flu knocks the poor wee souls for an absolute 6. A trip to the dentist is like preparing to venture to the ninth circle of ****. They are just not built like women, we are strong and unbending in the face of our dengue fever and enciphalitis b...the world would fall apart with out us. Bear up, be proud (and slip alittle something in your coffee) eta: oooo look! h3ll is a swear word! who knew. edited by arohadxb on 09/02/2011

I can't stand air beds, theyre freezing. Ikea have these cool fold up spring beds with a mattress. C4, geant and the likes have camping stretchers, as well as fold up mattresses. Much more cosy and comfy.

Hi, we're a family of 3 and have been hoping to find a puppy to join our family, so if it doesn't pan out with those who replied before me please please bear us in mind... We have a young son so we've been holding out for a pup so they can grow up together. I'm not sure we could justify paying the full amount your friend paid for the pup but we could pay a couple of thousand perhaps to cover the stuff she's bought etc. I would just be worried about paying a lot and then incurring massive vets bills if the poor wee thing is in a bad way. I don't work and we have a fairly spacious home and a garden and places to walk him, and we have little intention of leaving Dubai so i'm sure we'd make a lovely adoptive family for him. Mockingbird, I am fostering a beautiful pup, currently about 12 weeks old. She is full of character, almost toilet trained, LOVES kids and I swear. I love this dog. She is not pedigree, she's a desert rescue and will make the perfect dog one day. Please email: ari underscore jo 2002 at yahoo dot co dot nz if interseted. My Kacie is a wonderful dog.

thanks embo, but we have already bought another new bike with decent stabilizers, so we're back on track. Snowys hubby has collected the other bike, so hopefully it will enjoy it's new home. If I could have my time over I would have gone the route of those nice wooden bikes with no pedals so she could learned to balance a lot earlier than this!

Suit a 6 to 8 year old girl (is very pink) who can ride without training wheels. Is brand new, lil miss can't ride it as the training wheels are rubbish but if you have a little girl or know of one who can ride already without the stabilizers, its all yours. First in, is all yours. Am in springs.

Yes you can go by helicopter, about 45 mins from Dubai. There where 15 helicopters in the car park when we visited. most belonging to the royal family.... but yup...is possible to helicopter out here. theres no service that I know of, but maybe the hotel itself can set you up? Otherwise, charter.

You can tell some people till you're blue in face about safety though, but they won't necessarily listen. Go to somewhere like Sri Lanka or Thailand and you see adults, very often two with a youngster sandwiched between them on bikes, none of them have any safety gear on. As I said...we aint in lanka Thailand or India now... there is no excuse. You're right. But there's not much you can do about it. Today saw mum no seatbelt in car with kiddy jumping about on the front seat. In Fujairah kids all hanging out the sunroofs and windows and no amount of telling will change certain attitudes. check out buckle up in the back dubai campaign...there is plenty you can do, and one person is showing just that. Attitudes saying 'you can do nothing so don't try'? self defeatist. Our kids (as in the worlds children) are worth more than that.

Really we see silly things day in day out, not worth getting steamed up about, unless of course it was a MAID doing it. yeah, I'm prepared to watch babies on motor bikes be scraped off the road because their parents are too blase, uneducated, full of a god complex to keep them safe. uh huh, up here in this um hills we do it like the ole days ye' uh.

Lets see...the speed limit is 40km an hour. Anything over that is too fast. Quite apart from the fact, your man KNEW better, and did it anyway. Oh sweetie my man would never ride a bike! And unless you had noticed we actually live in the middle East not Windsor and anything goes! errrm, your man, is a turn of phrase I picked up somewhere in my travels...not aimed specifically at YOUR man. Hope that clears up some misunderstaning or another. Back to topic....

Obviously it's not going to be to everyones taste, some of the villas are a bit shabby, it all depends on how well they have been maintained. Have you been and had a look? Some of the springs have community pools, some do not, but most are within easy walking distance of anywhere. the Lakes and Meadows tend to be nicer/bigger and their rents reflect that. Currently the springs is relatively 'cheap and cheerful'. As a community it has all it needs, and while I had grave misgivings of living somewhere that looks the way it does ( all the same!) we have been here 2 years and are still happy to be out of the apartment.

I was going to say wax eyebrows. I once took off half a brow trying to do some "maintenance" after a couple of vino's. What's wrong with hot air ballooning over the desert??? I was just saying to DH and the kids tonight that might be something we should think about doing... intrigued. Is it risky? I'm assuming there are no powerlines. nah, I am just petrified of heights. is something i would LOVE to do, if I didnt turn into a dribbling fool at the thought of standing on a step...grrr. Mind you, is better than last time...then I agreed that paraponting would be fabulous!

I don't drive, and hubby needs the car for work. Most of the men and women I know working here, and I guess that depends on what field they're in, are not located in just one office/site/location all day everyday. My husband at least, splits his time between at least 4 offices in Abu Dhabi and one in dubai. Our schools bus system is excellent, and I taxi for what ever I need to do, or walk or ride my bike or bludge a lift off a friend. perfectly do able.

speaking as a pedestrian here, while I am grateful for those that do stop, I never assume that we will be safe on the crossing. Too many impatient '[people'> will overtake a stopped car at a crossing and attempt to run me down. I have no clue what the rule is here, but i have come to veiw the crossings as purely decorative.:(

and yet the folks would be quite happy to give up dog if the OP and family move home. Its not that they love dog and can't bear to be without her, she is being used as an emotional tool in a battle already, and that just stinks. The plan was for them to look after dog while the family was away up to 2 and a half years...that was the plan, they are now reneging on their part of bargain 2 years on. It's not about the animals welfare or what is best for dog at all in their minds, is what I get reading it.

I don't think it should be a battle between the 2 parties regardless of who is being petty. It should be about the dog... and only about the dog. Whats best for the dog?!! Clearly the dog is dearly loved by both parties. Do you want to let the dog live its happy loving life in Australia where the weather is more kind ALL year round and the dog doesn't have to go through the whole transportation process for what, a couple years in Dubai before being shipped off the the next location you move to? Or put the dog through the whole transportation process, bring it here, will still be loved dearly but for most of the year the weather is not desirable (definitely not as nice as Oz) then put the dog through the whole transportation process AGAIN when you decide to move on to the next country? THEN when you finally decide to move back to Oz the poor thing has to sit in Quarrantine for 6 months or so? Its hard but I think whats best for the dog is to leave it in Oz. I have seen first hand pets being transported by airlines and yes, its all done well and professional... but I have seen dogs very very unhappy and stressed behind the scenes in the baggage area... broke my heart. and yet we have people on here (EW) wishing to rehome their pets rather than transport them to another country, and they are held up for ridicule, villified and called every type of irrisponsible monster under the sun for not wishing to take their beloved pooch or moggy with them. Are we now to give them every compassion because after all they may just not have it in them to transport their animals and subject them to such cruelty? This thread is about this this situation... not about anyone or everyone else. I am responding to OP with MY PERSONAL OPINION and only taking THIS situation into account. At this present time I have not and will not give any other particular situation a thought. Se has asked our opinions and I have given mine. I respect yours even though it may be different to mine. Now please respect my right to voice my opinion. Thank you and am now done with this thread. OP will make their own decision, just hope its about the DOG and not the petty mind games being played. Sorrry shellly, but how incredibly ridiculous to get so upset and personal (mind games???!!! WHAT?) over a discussion. I do have an opinion that obviously differs from yours quite radically, fair enough. No one has said anywhere that an opinion cannot be voiced? Why is mine so terribly obnoxious to you? In fact, don't answer that, I don't really care. .What I am trying to do here for the OP is give her many different veiwpoints to concider in what is a horrible situation. I sincerely do not want her bombarded with oh poor dog, poor bob, and feel pressureed into making a decision that may not be right for her and her family. is that ok with you?
