dhs520 per month. 2 bed apartment. Majority of amount is housing fee not electricity and water. Electricity being the highest of the two. I wash 4 times a week. Messy toddlers. Automatic washing machine. When I had a frontloader bill was dhs470.

Which area will your friend be teaching in? Discovery Gardens (Disco Gardens) can be quite a drive if she teaches on the other side of town.

Its only harmful if it contains BPA. Just buy BPA free plates and cups. Most plastics for kids these days are BPA free and usually has a sticker on it indicating BPA free.

All shops will be open and will be open longer. Eid is the most profitable time for most shops in Dubai. Dubai mall is open 24 hours during eid.

I think its a sales gimmick of etisalat to get customers to buy dataplans. I have always had prepaid,no contract or dataplan ever and also get those text messages that I used up all my data and exceeded my limit. I just delete it.

Kelly at Salon Ink is brilliant with colour. Reds are tricky and only really take very well to hair which already has red in it. If you're talking a bright poppy red, then if your hair is dark, they very often have to lighten it or bleach the hair first - the up keep of this is a lot of hard work. She wants an affordable hairdresser. Salon Ink is anything but affordable.

DESS is a lovely nurturing school, with strong academics and sports. We're happy there, and after being at two GEMS schools really do feel that the quality of education is far superior and personal. Our kids are individuals who are being taught to be the best they can be instead of a bum on a seat or a number. I agree 100% and the best is the teachers and staff really love their jobs and it shows. My child is thriving there like I never imagined he would. :)

If you read this forum you will see that many people have recently been laid off in Dubai and are returning to their home countries. Also Dubai is a transient place. People come and go and even top schools get openings. They were the lucky ones. Also with the rent shooting up again a lot of people have had enough and are packing up and going home.

Their dates for fining is not always correct. It could of been more than 10 days ago. You were most probably caught by a 'hunter' radar. These radars have clear video of people speeding and commit traffic offences. You dont need to be stopped by a traffic officer for those fines if they have clear video of you committing the offence.

I dont think anyone in Dubai has a healthy scalp. If your not suffering with excessive hair loss you will probably get chronic dandruff. Its the water here. I just dont know what is in it that makes peoples scalps react that way. Cant be good...

Move to an old apartment building. You wont hear a thing. All these new apartment blocks in Dubai (marina, jlt, tecom etc.) have such thin walls you can hear the guy next door in the toilet. Lol!

You can check Superkids in Mirdif (a bit cheaper than YB, but till 5pm only) or Baby First Nursery (near Coca-Cola factory & Deira International School) Those two nurseries both have bad reputations if you read previous threads... Like a previous poster said perhaps look at nurseries in Sharjah considering you live there. At least if your child gets sick or something then someone can pick her up and take her home.

The bases and up the side of my pots and pans will often go blackish also - I find the best way to get rid of it is the old fashioned way - steel wool (the sort that rusts not the stainless steel type) and Jiff or even better old fashioned powdered Ajax (which I haven't seen here so I use the white Jiff liquid) and loads of elbow grease. I've gotten ajax from safestway on szr sorry, i can't help lilypad! :( Thanks. That is the Korean market on SZR, isn't it?? Safestway is very American not Korean.

Cold stone creamery has ice cream cakes. They have variety of sizes and customize it for you within a few minutes (like adding name and some sprinkles,m&m's etc.) They dont provide birthday candles, matches or cake slicer so you just have to buy that in advance. Very tasty and always a hit with kids.

No offence however quite a few companies laid off employees (mostly senior employees) before summer holidays and those people too are also still job hunting. It seems to be a tough market out there as employers are hiring cheaper less experienced employees instead of hiring people who know what they are doing.

well most parks have a particular area that is most suitable to host a small party... like under a gazebo or on a slightly raised area or close to bbq pits... so it's always best to book! the booking is FREE... so why not get it done and be assured of your spot! plus is also helps to know how many other parties are happening at the same time so you can estimate how crowded the park will be As someone who has held two parties in parks in the past I can tell you that your spot is never assured. You cant reserve/book an area. Its first come first serve. Some people send their housemaid the moment the park opens 8:00 to go and take a gazebo or area that is coveted until the rest of the people come at 11 or 12 to set up. The maid will then sit there for hours playing with her cellphone and chase away any people who even come near the gazebo.

No flu vaccination for us. I think its more targetted to the elderly and children with low immune systems. We are a healthy bunch most of the time. My dad gets his religiously every year and truly believes in it but he gets the worst flu every year too so I am not that convinced.

http://www.circuitfactory.ae/index.php#!prettyPhoto Give this a try, all shapes, sizes and fitness levels. Lovely, supportive trainers and clients, a fun, hard way to exercise with optional 4 or 2 week challenges for those who want to shift some weight, look at the website, they do get the most amazing results in a great atmosphere. You pay as you go and there are locations in Al quoz (near al manara st), mirdiff and meadows. I checked them out however you have to pay a fee for circuit factory and a fee for the gym (al Quoz) which works out expensive.

In the US and Canada people use coupons for almost everything. My niece goes to pilates and yoga classes with coupons and has never paid for a lesson. They even use coupons for grocery shopping and they get major discounts at check out. I wouldnt feel ashamed. Companies are making good profit one way or another.

Schools have more important things to do than to judge people on what they are wearing and scold them. Seriously if you dont like what someone is wearing look the other way. All this finger wagging discussions on EW are really becoming annoying. Higher than thou attitudes. Its just a few minutes for pickup anyways. I have never seen mums at my child's school wear daisy dukes and high heels so perhaps its just at your child's school.

Ethiopia has banned their citizens from coming to Dubai to work as maids due to the frequent abuse that occurs here. They will not allow them to come to UAE. Try another nationality. <em>edited by Asti on 24/09/2013</em>

It doesnt remove it. It only minimizes the appearance. Nothing can remove a stretch mark. Its broken/fractured tissue in the skin. However if you want to cover up your stretch marks then Sally Hansen selftan spray does a great job and you can also use coverderm skin make up for the more severe ones. <em>edited by Asti on 23/09/2013</em>

Robin Thicke has been trying to get famous for a long time. Notice how he sang at Kim Karkrashians wedding and Kris Jenner was biggin him up in the episodes leading up to it.. Let him have his 2 minutes of fame. His second single isnt very good so he is already flopping. Would be more concerned with Viley Cyrus' behaviour than his.. Viley Cyrus? LMAO!!! :) That name suits her.

Yes,healthy food options are scarce unless you want to eat subway all the time. Been on diet and its always a struggle when going to the mall and everyone is hungry to find a place that has healthy options too. In addition to that, I would like it if grocery stores would stock low calorie cordials. edited by Asti on 22/09/2013 Drink water ? Haha! Thats what my DH says but I prefer cooldrink. Not a big fan of plain water. Sad but true.
