Neutrogena does very good sunscreen for kids especially ones with sensitive skin. Banana boat is rubbish. You will still burn.

Its most probably bored husbands who are on their wives' laptops trying to annoy others with their thumbs down. I dont even pay attention to the thumbs at the bottom. They are a joke.

Booked DH in for 3 flights past week with no problems at all. Maybe clear the cache in your computer to prevent these glitches? Otherwise check-in via your mobile phone as it is usually faster there too.

I did the full course (1,2,3) and it was worth every cent. Very interesting and I use all the techniques to this day whenever I make a cake. You will be making a lot of icing so make sure you get a good quality mixer as it can be exhausting!

NYX is a good brand for lipstick and very affordable. I find their quality and colour pigment to be the same as MAC and its half the price of MAC. Lifestyle shops sell it.

Dubai Shopping Festival has been announced and it will be from Jan 1 till Feb 1 :) Can't wait!!! :) You have clearly never been in Dubai during DSF. Its a big rip off festival. Same price but they put a sale sticker on it and tourists fall for it. Not worth it.

He gave you 12 months notice plus 4 months extension and you want to drag him to RERA?! You had plenty of time to look for other accommodations. Sorry but your not a victim here regardless of his reasons for wanting his villa back. Fairness works both ways.

Happy to hear this! Not as happy as the royals will be knowing the public still stands behind the crown after all of these years. Well technically its 54% who stand behind them. I do believe if they have another voting in a few years results will be a lot different. People just dont want change at the moment due to recession etc. It was just bad timing.

If you give them money instead of a proper flight ticket I can guarantee you they will not go home for their leave and will most probably do part time work (illegally) during their annual leave in Dubai to make more money. Airlines do give company discount so if you go to the offices of Emirates/Etihad/Philippine airlines or Cebu Airlines you can hash out a discounted company deal with them. You want your employees well rested after annual leave. Not more exhausted. Better stick with actual flight tickets. edited by Asti on 19/09/2014

Cant confirm a return date? That would send warning bells off. Who doesnt know when they are returning from their leave. She is probably leaving to go work somewhere else I think. Perhaps at your appointment ask her directly? edited by Asti on 16/09/2014

Academically and reputation wise they are equal. Just choose one that has best location for you and best school fees. Thank you Asti , I am really confused as I have offers from both for my daughter 17 and son 14, and will be living in Jvt, I know DBS will be nearest one but English college is good fees wise. Any comment? In that case I would go for DBS. Even though EC has better fees you will be driving farther which means more fuel and their friends will be in that area too so extra driving+fuel adds up so you wont be saving that much. Jumeira also sometimes has terrible traffic. Make your life and theirs easier and choose the closest location. Good luck! :)

No regrets. I thought it was the end of the world when I resigned to be a SAHM. I was actually crying in my managers office! Its been 7 years now and I dont regret it. Its nice making my own rules, spending time with my children and being the best mum I can be. I read recently that they did a study at various retirement homes and asked the elderly what is their biggest regret in life or what would you want to have done better and the majority replied..."Spend more time with my children". Too many people chase the buck and forget their children are only children for a very short while and then leave your home. Regret always comes too late. Money wont hold your hand when your dying someday. If you can afford it then go for it!

dhs50? I have never heard of a blowdry that cheap however I do know the filipina and indian ladies in Karama and Bur Dubai give really cheap blowdries but they do not come to your house. You have to go there. I had a pedicure for dhs35! Parking is a pain there though so I only go there if I have to get other things too.

I have one. It cleans very well and water consumption is also a lot less so the water bill at the end of the month is lower as well. I am happy with mine. Been using it for two years now and still works great. Regardless if you get a steam one or not you cannot go wrong with LG. Their washing machines are good.

My son had exzema and I applied sudocrem (diaper cream) on the affected areas and cut out all dairy products. It cleared up quickly. Calendula lotion also helps if it feels very itchy. These items you can buy at any pharmacy and sudocrem is also available in the baby aisle at supermarkets. Calendula (homeopathic) can be found at some pharmacies.

Depends where you moving to...If your leaving for a better country then I would do all those touristy things. If you were leaving for a lesser country then I would do some shopping. I personally would just go to restaurants and eat, eat, eat! Lol! I love Lebanese food and its so cheap here so I would go to lovely restaurants with good views and enjoy myself and relax. :)

Dont buy the cheap ones as they break fast. Buy a good pair that will last. I went through several cheap fakes and in the end it worked out more expensive than just getting a proper headset. I currently have a pair of Philips headsets that were very pricey but they have lasted very long and they are great. My fake Bose headsets lasted a whopping three weeks!

Based on your previous experiences is any of the places that offer Christmas Lunch sort of on the quiet side? We would have a newborn by Christmas time, but I think I still would like to go out for a little bit. Nothing too overwhelming. Maybe brunch in a nice quiet place. Is this an option at all or you would recommend that's better not to go out at all. I just thought it will be nice to still do something on Christmas day. Any feedback recommendations ? Last year we went to Alfie's in Emirates Towers because The Ivy was fully booked. Food was nice, nothing Wow, but nice; and the environment pretty quiet, very few children if any. Four years ago I took my then newborn with us to a christmas brunch at Le Meridien (Garhoud) hotel. He slept through all the music and dancing and announcements in his pram. Thats the great thing about newborns. They sleep well when its noisy but take them home and put them in a cozy crib with a quiet room and they become wide awake! Lol!

As an ex-nailbiter I would say do not get those fake gel/acrylic nails. It will make your nails even more weaker and its like putting a bandage over an emotional problem. The nailbiting will return full force once you remove it. Just go for regular colour/french manicures. You will be less likely to bite into a beautiful nail colour. It will still happen but a lot less and gradually you will see your nails getting stronger and nicer and you will also notice you will be biting a lot less. Like a smoker you will have to do it gradually. It takes time and can be difficult during stressful times. Get lollypops to suck on every time you get the urge to start biting. That helps too. Good luck! :) edited by Asti on 02/09/2014

British curriculum is tough and a lot tougher to get back into.... Perhaps place him in a Canadian school again here? There is a big Canadian school now in Mirdiff. Ontario International Canadian School. They open in 2 weeks time on 15 Sept. http://oics.ae/ Otherwise plenty of extra tuition will help if you are set on going back to Brit Curr. edited by Asti on 02/09/2014

Most schools have bus service. If you dont get a space in your area place your child in a school with bus service to the area. Plenty of new schools opening or have opened already. Place your child on the waitlist of your preferred school also if it is currently full. People come and go. Spaces will open up.

@Sarahlou I have no idea about pregnancy details about maids. As far as I know you only go to jail if you are unmarried and deported if you are married, pregnant and a maid. I could be wrong.
