In case anyone was interested in the Wasl Square Apartments. I had an email to say they were available for viewing and leasing from October 10th. 1 beds starting at 75,555 and 2 beds at 92,555. I emailed about them months ago and they just got back to me! The apartments are on the main road, so could be quite noisy. I would love to live there. They look really nice. Perfect for a bachelor/bachelorette. Not really for a family.

People don't listen to warnings (Keep windows locked in high rises, Don't let children swim alone, Don't hire illegal maids... Etc.), but they'll read this headline because people want to feel safe again. Things like this make me furious. Why did he decide to kill her? Why not just rob them? I'm sure he could have hidden his face and tied her somewhere while he took the stuff. But no, he had already decided that a) he was bankrupt so needed money, and b) that he would murder her. That poor little child could have come home to mummy being tied up, not to an eternally empty home. edited by AmyAus82 on 09/10/2012 I agree. Poor child....

Salon Ink is where I go, along with a large number of other EW Ladies! They are all relaly good, based on Jumeriah Beach Road, opposite the public beach next to Chilli's and the Fitness First! I get blonde highlights too! They are super expensive. The OP is looking for affordable.

Because prices and menus havent been released doesnt mean they dont take bookings. People book Al Qasr months in advance and they do not care how much it costs as its apparently very good and worth it. I personally already booked a flight ticket out of Dubai for Xmas. Nothing like homemade cooking from my mum ;)

Another option you might want to explore is to go camping. There are plenty of camping sites. Its summer that time too so the weather would be nice for camping too.

Dont worry. Getting steroid injections to develop the baby's lungs has been a common,safe and effective practice for many year,if advised by your doctor. It doesnt affect the baby negatively. Only helps them to mature their lungs faster. You and your baby will be okay. Its good your doctor is doing this as you never know since you had an autoimmune disease (even if it is resolved). Better safe than sorry. Good luck! :)

OMG, i am so stressed! This afternoon i tried to deposit cash into my account using an Emirates NBD ATM. I first put in some cash, which got accepted, the machine then asked if i wanted to add more cash, i did, except this time, it returned it (said that the currency was not valid) A little slot opened, and a wad of my cash appeared, When i tried pulling the returned money out, it was stuck, and no matter how hard i pulled, the notes were stuck in the teeth of the machine! The machine then, after beeping horrendously for what seemed an eternity, closed the slot, and said THANK YOU FOR YOUR TRANSACTION! There was no receipt, nothing. AED 7700/-! Has anyone been through this before? Does the extra money in the atm go somewhere? is it accountable? I called the customer hotline, and they said to return to the branch on sunday, and file a claim. What proof do i have that i lost money in the atm? I'm sure theres a video of me trying to pull out money out of the ATM, using my legs as levrage! :@ Are there any bankers on here who know what happens next? Dont worry. This actually happens quite often. You just go to the bank and tell them exactly the location of the atm machine,the time and date the incident happened. They will then check out the atm and also the video footage of it at that time. The money will then be deposited into your bank account thereafter. Might take 2 days though but it does get sorted.

Read your contract if its renewable. If its not renewable then you better start packing. Best to contact RERA to sort this out either way.

I like all the new judges. First time I have heard of this Demi girl but apparently she is popular among American Tweens. She is nice though. Looking forward to the live shows. Bootcamp is entertaining too.

You have to use gloves and basically not do much with your hands for it not to chip. Basically be a 'lady of leisure'. Lol! The pedicure lasts forever though. Have to agree with coffee mate,the Jessica Gelleration lasts longer than any other brand. Second is Gelish,Third is Shellac.

They have it at Boots in Deira city centre. I have a large tube for my two boys for all their bumps and bruises. Also quite good on rashes too.

Your responses have been such a great help..... my DH and I have had a really serious talk about it and we are planning to visit an expo in the UK in november which is for career opportunties in NZ and see what the feedback is like and then will take a trip over there before rushing into anything..... I want to look at this move as being long term.... I have lived here for 20 years and know that it is time to move on to somewhere that is green, laid back and a community :-) thank u :-) Also keep in mind the weather there...Can be a bit depressing (rain,cloud,cold). I can count on one hand the days I had nice weather in all the times I visited NZ. However when the weather is nice everyone comes out of hiding and are outdoors.

I would wait it out. What worked for us is DH started spending more time with DS and having special activities together that made him feel special. DH once spent two weeks sleeping on DS floor under a McQueen tent as they were 'camping' and doing big boy stuff (no girls allowed!). Took him out for an ice cream,took him bicycle riding in the park,went to dragonmart bought him a new bicycle as he is now a big boy. Just him and his dad. That helped a lot. You need to discuss this with your DH as he needs to get more involved.

Write a letter to her landlord suggesting a huge increase in rent. Then she will move and your problems are solved. Lol! Some people never get the message unless you are just downright direct and rude. Just tell her that its not convenient and to please not ask again as you are starting to feel uncomfortable. She will be mad at you anyways regardless of how you approach it as she doesnt seem to be the brightest.

My kids are 14 (almost 15),13,6 and 20 months. I *hate* how quickly the time seems to pass. As I type this,the 20 m old has been asleep in my arms for almost an hr (its just after 9.30 pm here), and I loathe to put him to bed. Im enjoying the moment: the smell of his freshly washed hair, the warmth of his pjs against me, the heavy,rhythmic breathing,the silence :-) Enjoy every precious moments with the kids, no matter what the age. Sigh. I want another one!!!

Yes,we did the resetting of the modem several times. Its a modem that was given to us by Etisalat when we started with their Elife package,so I guess they are the ones who has to help us? I hope they can because my DH is getting sulky as he has no internet and of course I have to fix it! Grrr!

Check for cavities,do cleaning and then polishing. Thats the minimum. Fluoride treatment is an extra expense these days and has to be requested. My dentist also gives me tooth sensitivity treatment for free on request (it just a gel he places on my teeth). Im guessing for children it would be the same. <em>edited by Asti on 01/10/2012</em>

reposting here too as i really need a quick answer.. doing school aplications next week.. DS was born in July 2010 so he should be starting FS1 next September..however, comparing to where both DS and I come from this is way too soon. From my understanding he would be in year one at the age of 5. I am born in July too and I did not go to school until I was 7 ! My husband on the other hand was in grade one at the age of 6 and a half. If we decide to leave Dubai I would want my son to be at the same age as his school mates in our home countries. If we follow the British curriculum and enroll him in FS1 next year , he might end up back home in year 2 at the age of 6 with some of his mates aged as old as 8 !! I also do not like that he will always be the youngest in his class and possibly struggle to keep up with the older kids. Is there any way I can hold him back and enroll him a British curriculum school a year later than supposed too? Do I need approval from KHDA or how does this work exactly? will the schools accept my application ? Why dont you just enroll him in an international school or american school? They start Grade 1 the year they are 6 years old and turning 7.

When I was in school, the smartest pupil in my grade every year was a girl who was also the youngest of all of us. She barely made the cutoff date and still managed to get top marks every year putting the rest of us to shame. You just never know...

The ladies at the kids club are fantastic with the kids too. First time I felt comfortable with other people looking after my little ones. My two year old who is very attached to me didnt want to leave! :)

We went to Saadiyat island in Abu Dhabi last week. Stayed at Park Hyatt. It was fab! Theres a kids club with indoor and outdoor play area. Theres a shaded kids pool. All the pools are temperature controlled too. The rooms and balconies are huge! I would defnitely recommend it for a family getaway.
