It was always going to be Sunday - either Saturday & Sunday or Sunday & Monday Asti - I would change your appointment, unless your Salon will be open on that anyway! I just called the salon and they assured me they are open regardless of Eid and will be closed Monday and Tuesday instead. Strange. You would think they would want a longer weekend.

How long did they say you have to wait? I think it also depends on your husbands nationality how long the visa will take to process.

You would have to call hospitals in advance and ask if they have it in stock. They sometimes dont have stock so that might limit your choice in hospitals.

Arghhh, BM, that happens to me all the time! Ask for a shoe size 41 (I have big feet :( ) and then they will ALWAYS bring a size 40! Once they even gave me a 39 to try on... Go to a restaurant and order starters and mains and ask for starters to arrive AFTER the mains, and guess what, everything arrives at the same time (one specific restaurant comes to mind)! I know this is not exactly a train smash and the world has bigger problems but when I pay for something with my hard earned cash I expect to get the service I deserve. I am also busy buying a car. What a challenge! Anyway, rant over, feels better :D Haha! Im also a size 41 shoe size and they always bring me a variety of sizes thinking I can just suddenly change the size of my feet! Or they will bring me a totally different shoe in my size!

I completely understand the issues here, being in a Muslim country with all that entails but I did smile as I remembered my most recent spa experience here at home. My sister and I took our mum to a local Hydro hotel for the weekend to celebrate her 80th birthday, which included the use of the inhouse Victorian spa. Men and women used the pool, jacuzzi, steam and sauna rooms together without blinking. Of course, people were in swim wear and there was a sign on the door saying that as the facilities were mixed, nudity was not allowed! Different worlds LOL! Haha! Reminds me when I went to a sauna in a hotel in Munich and a nude man walked in followed by a nude lady. They looked at me as if Im a prude for wrapping myself in a towel. I didnt know that in Germany its normal to be nude in the sauna. I made a quick escape as I felt too uncomfortable but it still makes me laugh to this day.

Isnt that provided by the school? Usually you just pack a lunchbox and waterbottle. The rest should be provided by the school.

Le Royal Meridien beach resort and spa usually have affordable day rates but I do think during eid the hotels will put up prices to the max. Otherwise you can spend the day at Wild Wadi. I doubt if they will change prices for eid. Theres lots of umbrellas and sunloungers around the pools and slides.

They should at least put up a sign at the reception desk in case they 'forget' again to tell other customers. Perhaps give a suggestion to the supervisor as the front desk staff obviously couldnt care less.

This is normal unfortunately. I use the hot water tap for warm water (water heater off during summer) and the cold water tap has steaming hot water. Nothing you can do about it unfortunately. You get used to it. Part of living in the desert.

Universal studios in Florida is also close to Disneyland. We actually enjoyed Universal studios a lot more than Disneyland to be honest. They are both really huge. The hotels surrounding Disneyland have cartoon themed rooms and beds which kids love.

Your dentist can put cream treatment on your teeth that helps diminishes tooth sensitivity. A deep cleaning of the teeth will probably also help get rid of the stains. I wouldnt bleach the teeth after having veneers removed as your enamel is already superthin.Perhaps drink dark liquids with a straw so that they dont stain your teeth. My recommendation is Skyclinic in Burjuman Mall (Dr. Max). Good german dentists with normal prices (dentalspa is overpriced but good too)

Warehouse close to Meridian Village has food and drinks too. Otherwise Yalumba is also a good option. Dont know if Meridien Village itself is open during summer though as its terribly hot. I love going to their BBQ nights in the winter.

I work with US curriculum and in grade 2 they learn skip counting, which is counting by 2s,5s etc. Then in the same year they learn multiplication by pictures, and rows/lines, and memorizing the easy tables of 2, 5 and 10. In grade 3 they really start to memorize tables by repetition, repetition, repetition. Is grade 3 equivalent to a Year 4 british place? Yes,thats correct.

You have to book him early (Dr. Jaffer Khan). I just wanted to go for my mole removal and he was booked 2 months ahead full. Maybe now that everyone is away for summer you can get an appointment with him. He is very popular in Dubai as his work is good apparently.

The apartments in Ghoroob all have big patios/terraces. I think its actually bigger than the apartment itself. Dont know why they designed it like that as a large portion of the year you cant really go outside because of the intense heat. Same with Shorooq.

I didn’t use an agency for mine, we placed ads on Dubizzle and Expat woman. It wasn’t easy but I knew what I wanted and I didn’t know about using an agency + I wouldn’t have paid for an agency. When placing a Ad I was very clear about what I wanted as in - Must have accommodation, must be prepared to live out, must have transport or be prepared to travel every day I even went as far as to say how old I wanted them to be and what nationality. I asked them to call me between a certain times and had a long phone conversation with them and asked many questions, I had everything written down, if I was happy with them on the phone I arranged one day where I interviewed about 10 ladies, my nanny was the last lady I saw on that day. Talking to them on the phone helped a lot, if they called me at the wrong time I didn’t see them, if they was the wrong nationality, too old, not prepared to live out etc I didn’t see them, if they turned up late to the interview I didn’t see them, sounds harsh yes but if they couldn’t follow a simple advert I didn’t want them working for me. We had all sorts of people turn up on the day, women who couldn’t talk English and had her friend call me, one lady was 57 years old when i wanted between 30-40. I still have the advert I placed and the questions I asked if you would like me to send them over to you to give you an idea of what I put please send me you email address and I will send them over. This setup sounds ideal. DH doesnt want someone living with us either so maybe I can get a live out maid too....
