You can buy it at Daiso. Most Japanese mascara brands have a fibre lash mascara in their ranges. I buy mine overseas but be warned...they dry out quickly and you defnitely need to use waterproof makeup remover as those things do not come off your lashes easily. They do however make your lashes look very full and thick.

Its so nice when someone helps you. I had the same predicament in Bur Dubai. My car broke down in the middle of the road and everyone honked at me. One gentleman from South Africa stopped his car in the middle of the road behind me and managed to get my car started again. I will also never forget that. Gentlemen are hard to find.

Use an agency maid? no it's not abt cleaning... i already have some1, she comes over twice a week... i need some1 to stay with me all day and part of night and then sleep outside... take care f my baby with me and maybe baby sit once in a while... that's all... but i believe it's a fantasy dream... So you want a maid that helps you with your child raising duties and when the baby goes to bed at night,the maid has to go home?

If you want a school that has great sport facilities and also good academically then you cant go wrong with either DESS (Dubai English Speaking School) or JESS (Jumeira English Speaking School). Both schools have waiting lists though but it doesnt hurt to try your luck.

Not sure if this will make you feel better but Katherine famously did her own makeup for her wedding to Prince William. Now she did get a few lessons in advance and probably had unlimited help, but you-tube is priceless these days and you are likely to find loads of online lessons! I agree. How much do you tip for home delivery? And does anyone know how far out they usually deliver? Most of them automatically add a service charge to the bill already. Chain restaurants usually deliver everywhere but specialty ones usually just in their surrounds.

Its usually booked out months in advance already but hotels usually just advertise it on their own websites. I know Bayan Tree in RAK has a special on at the moment that they advertised.

The Kodak photoshop in MOE made lovely canvasses for us from family photos and it was reasonably priced too. It located nearby the cinemas,close to the toyshop.

I like the taste of Timmys coffee. Its a lot better than the dishwater they serve at the overrated Starbucks. Their chicken wraps are yummy too.

Lilypad,I think your right. I have found the H&S shampoos here in Dubai not that effective but when I go home and buy it there it somehow works. I think I will try something strong to get rid of it and then move on to the milder stuff. Will go look for some Alphosyl. :)

Hello, I'm new to this, and new to Dubai, we are just relocating. My husband has visited Arabian Ranches and likes it - but he tells me you have to drive out through the desert and construction sites to get there. Is he mad? Is it a big deal? Its a lovely neighborhood but yes,its is that far out. Everything is a bit of a drive on the highway close to it. Your husband described it correctly but the thing in Dubai is that you have to make compromises. There isnt really a perfect neighborhood. Everything has its pros and cons. If your okay with having to drive a lot then it would be okay otherwise look closer to town. Most people try to get a place close to their children's school or husbands work.

its a Toyota Corolla 1.8xli,2006 model,fully automatic,lady driven for 35000aed. its done 60000km so far. Theres no way you will get dhs35000 for a 2006 Toyota,regardless how low the milage is.

Dubai American Academy and American School of Dubai are all close by to Downtown. They are both very popular schools though and usually have waiting lists. You can always call at end of August when admin staff are back at schools and enquire. Another good American school is Universal American School that is located next to Festival City.

We went away for two weeks only as DH only had 15 days leave. Think next time I will calculate it better and perhaps book it for August instead of June. At least their grandma is coming in a few days,so then I can have a break too.;)

I live in an apartment block with very good security staff so they wont get in Look through the peep hole and if you dont know them dont answer :-) We dont have security but I have stopped opening the door to people I dont know.

I do love living in the Middle East and all the opportunity it affords us. But it does attract a certain kind of vulgar person and lifestyle that I just want to avoid. Very few people here are down to earth, genuine and know the true meaning of friendship. A lot of ppl are out to make money and scam ppl. Couldnt agree more. Genuine people are a rarity here.

I think Qatar buys their awards. Always had crappy flights with them and they have lost my luggage twice. Their staff isnt better than emirates either. As the saying goes 'money talks!' The olympics 2020 is a good example....

They have something for all ages there. Theres a toddlers soft play area for the small kids. Your little one will enjoy it regardless. Theres also a dolphinarium opposite the childrens city that has shows on through the day.

from what I searched the fees they charge at JBS is no more than most of the GEMS schools and american schools such as ASD and DAA. So I don't understand what the big fuss about the fees are? Maybe because it's a new school and parents don't trust it that much to pay such high cost for a school that's not yet well estableshed. ASD and DAA are proven schools with a great track record,JBS is not and can therefor not really justify their ridiculous school fees. Especially as their IB curriculum hasnt even been approved by the IB organisation.

Pottery barn has childrens flip out sofas. Although they are of course very expensive. There is also flip out sofas at Ikea. Maybe just buy a few kiddie pillows to decorate it.
