Thank you for these suggestions. I have been looking for the "Green door" store for quite some time, but without the name, I could not find it. I will check out both stores.

I am trying to buy a medium sized coffee table. I am looking for the type that is essentially an old door with glass put on top. Does anybody know stores which deal in this type of furniture? Many thanks.

Thanks for the replies. We intend to buy a three-day pass. I think that I would like to hire a guide. What is the best way to do so. Through the Tourist Association to assure that the person really knows what he is talking about?

The animal souq at Souq Waqif is torture for me to ge through, but they have what you need for animals. I find Carrefour to be expensive. For most regular/routine care, vaccinations and such, I use the government vet. I have to buy some of the vaccinations (40 QR) and the microchip (70 QR bought at pet store , same as the vaccine), but they implant and vaccinate at no cost. The government vet supplies some vaccines at no cost. The facilities are definitey not glamorous, but I found the vets to be caring. I take my (stray) cat there and if they need care, the fledgling birds that invariably end up with me each year.

We went in February and observed several tutles coming on shore, one of which chose a very steep incline. She worked soooo hard to get her heavy body up there. I felt the urge rise to run down and help push her up. I felt so sorry for her. Digging this nest was so much work. The real treat for us was at the end when she started to cover the eggs. All in a sudden, she ended up with a tiny turtle on her back. While digging, she had disturbed another site where the eggs were just hatching. Since we had some light source with us that would have confused the turtle baby, the warden carried it to the water. It was a beautiful experience. Our accommodation was about 90 minutes away. We drove the centre and then drove back.

I believe that the rule applies to boys over 18 traveling w/o their father. My son was recently held up at the airport and luckily, his father was in the country to come to his rescue and issue an exit permit. I was simply not aware of this regulation. Maybe I have been living under a mushroom before............ and it is a bit strange that girls do not fall under this regulation.

Warning.I have purchased 3 garden lights from LuLu and have returned them today. One had dangling wires right away, the other 2 did not work.I took them back and asked the customer service rep to check the remaining boxes and try them out in order to save unsuspecting customers the trouble of buying a product that evidently is poorly made. My suggestion was met with a blank stare. I am pretty sure that my boxes eventually end up in the shelf again. The plastic wrapper inside was missing for 2 of them and I believe that I have not been the only one taking them home.... I will be off to Techno Q now....

You can go to the government vet on Airport road. I will be taking my stray cat there this week for vaccinations. They do not have all the meds there. Last year, I had to buy one type of vaccination from a pet store and take it with me.

Thanks, could you please tell me where the Lulu is? I am only familiar with the Health Centre, but there is no shopping centre close to this. Will also check out the show room as well.

Black sensible shoes. If they are seniors, then they should be dress shoes for the males.

I am looking for solar powered lights for the garden, the type that has a stem that can be dug into the ground. Has anyone seen those? Anybody knows where to buy them? Your help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Thank you for these responses. I called the Pets and More store. no cages at all. I had already visited the store at whole sale market. They just do not have the combination that I wanted, large, with tube possibilities. They were either large or had tubes. I am really happy with the cage that I bought before for my senior hammy, just this particular type does not seem to be available any more. PuppyLove 2: Thank you for your offer. I might try to connect them, but they would be difficult to move then. At night time, we have to take the cage out of my son's room as this hammy lady is a real rebel rouser all night. I would like to talk to you about your experience with the penthouse apartment cage. When you have time, can you give me a call, please? 4487 1921

Good monirng, does anybody have any experience with Canadian Veterinary Clinic. It seems to be a very new business- since November, I believe. I need a teeth cleaning for my cat and one of the established vets here quoted 800QR for this service as they want to perform this under a full anaesthetic. It seems a lot of money for this. I thought that Family dental clinic was expensive, and they charge "only" QR 500. Any comments/experiences will be appreciated.

Park House does a combination of Edexcel and Cambridge. It depends on the subject area. I do not think that places are an issue. Give the school a call and ask for the Secondary Secretary. Good Luck

Thank you for the tip, Carolina. I always have a jug of water next to the door. How much lemon juioce would you have added per liter, appr.? The paw was swollen due to the infection from the bite. The cat needed antibiotics and a pain killer which added up to cost QR 500. At least, the cats feels better today, but I fear that it will be mugged again. I kept it indoors until today - which it did not like at all.

Sparrrows are seed eater,s but the parents are feeding the babies insects. I have hunted down 3 flies, and a student brought in 2 and I have had many offers of cockroaches - which I declined. I feed the bird pretty much the same thing as I fed my dove last year. It did very well, and started feeding itself after a few weeks. Unfotunately, it did die before we could release it, of unknown causes, something like a heat attack. It just fell over. It was really sad as we all had become very fond of it. I had found it in my yard when it was only one day old. Never could figure out where it came from, no tree in sight, no nest, nothing. Anyway, it had been recommened to me to use puppy food mixed with grains. I mix in some sesame seeds since they are so little, ground up wheat, ground nuts and apple sauce. It seems to be agreeing with him. It eats a huge amount and has graduated to a larger cage for flying practice. I feed it every hour and when I have time, more often. iI travels to work with me. It is also very messy and has already ruined a few papers by having accidents" on it. White-out tape does not cover these well at all. Its name is Tot.

I have been given a fledgeling sparrow. I child collected it. He/it is doing well, but I think that I should add bird vitamins to his diet. Do I have to go to a vet to get these or are they available at pet stores/supermarkets. This little bird cannot fly yet. It is eating very well, but shows no interest yet in seeds. How long do mothers looks after their fledgelings when they leave the nest? Does anybody know? How long will I have to be a bird mum?

I am looking for a specific puppy food, but I do not know where to get this nor what the name of it is. It comes in a little flat aluminium pouch in one piece servings. The food is in little chunks in a gravy. I have checked Family Foods Mega Mart and Al Meera. Ladies when you go shopping, could you please have a quick look in the pet section for me? Thanks

I will definitely want to go to one of the water parks. While getting information, I read on a site information about a coupon booklet for AED 350 with 2 for one coupons, but I could not extract from the site much information as to what type of coupons are available, other than lots of restaurants are featured. Does anybody have experience with these booklets? They are called the Entertainer, and presumably, there is one even for Qatar.

Dr. Mandy at the Women's Hospital (Hamad) is very good. You can make an appointment by calling the Women's Hospital. I found her to be very accommodating with appointments. She also works on Sundays at the Al Gharrafra Health Clinic. Dr. Mandy really listens and is extremely helpful.

Hello, ladies, I would like to go to Dubai for a few days, and as a Canadian, I have to purchase a visa now. I have contacted the hotel as presumably, hotels will apply for the visa for you and I had heard that this is the cheaper route, however, here is what I read in the form letter that they sent from the hotel. (They organize the visa through an "out-source agent"): Guarantee Fee: AED 7000/- (USD 1428/-) per person/visa has to be deposited as a guarantee which will be refunded after we receive the exit stamp page of the person for whom we made the visa. The same amount will be used to pay the government fee if the person (visa guest) over stays or abscond. Deposit can be done by bank transfer, local cheque, credit card authorization or cash. Has anybody of you organized the visa though the hotel and had to pay this guarantee fee???? I hve not heard of this fee. Any help in info about procuring the visa will be appreciated. thanks. I was not aware of a guarantee Fee.

So sorry, but I seem to be more dense than most computer or forum users. On the left, there is only this huge long column titled "absolutely everything in one long list". Everything there deals with Dubai. I really do not quite understand why all of this Dubai info is flanking the Qatar site. Sorry to be a other, but I need more help...............

Hello, Ladies, my husband has been transfered to Bahrain from Qatar. Subsequently, I am looking for schools to accommodate my 2 boys. They are presently attending a British school in Doha. One would have to enter Year 11 (to repeat it, unfortunately), the other will progress to AS level. I have read through the various notices in this forum, however, most concern students much younger than my children. I understand that waiting lists are long for the junior grades. I have applied to St,. Christopher's , but I have not heard anything. I have looked at the website for the International School of Bahrain, the American school, but it would appear that it caters only to children whose fathers/mothers work for the US military. Are there other good schools for the Senior level that could be recommended? I wanted to find out information about the British School of Bahrain, but their website has been down for a while. I am looking really for a school that offers A level rather than IB. I must say that I was surprised at the ligh level for the fees, much higher than in Qatar. Any advice and / or information will be gladly accepted.
