My husband's company aren't going to help us at all so any information would be great. Hate the thought of wandering around Immigration trying to find the right place so if you could roughly tell me where I need to go for the transfer that would be great. Don't have approval yet, although we have had a maid before. Do I need forms for the transfer and approval? Thanks so much.

Does anyone know how easy/hard it is to transfer the sponsorship of a maid here without an agency, to save the expense. Also I know there was a problem with Filipino visas, is it possible to transfer a Filipino maid? All advice really gratefully received. Thanks so much.

Is this a different group from the Doha Mums group or the group that Mohana runs? edited by Bubbles on 25/01/2012

Hi, There are currently 2 writing groups on the go here. One is run by Mohana Phongsavan and they meet at Bread and Bagels at 6pm every fortnight. The other group is run by Christine Gerber Rutt and meet once a month in the mornings, location varies. If you want anymore information, such as email addresses for either, email me at lisadotisolamagazine@gmaildotcom

Well we were some of the lucky ones and got in but it was chaos in there. We were denied entry to the section where our seats were and they were 'full' then redirected to another area. When we asked officials what would happen if the ticket holders for those seats turned up we were told they wouldn't...I guess by then they had closed the gates. I spoke to an employee at Aspire this afternoon and she told me that all staff members received an e-mail on Thursday afternoon saying that if they arrived at 4.30pm with a friend/family member they would be admited for free if they just showed their pass. What a joke!
