Our son is year 8 at EC and we are very happy with the school. He is in a great group of friends, boys and girls alike. The teachers are passionate about their subjects. My son's form tutor constantly goes above and beyond. Some of the facilities do need attention but I'd rather have enthusiastic teachers keen to encourage my son to learn than an immaculately mowed playing field.

Can anyone recommend either a gardener or a gardening agency that operate in Umm Suqeim 1. We are looking for someone to come twice a week.

A passport was dropped outside the Al Manara Centre in Al Safa 2 this morning, Sunday 18th. We know someone found it and tried to hand it into the centre but they refused to accept it. We are desperate to find the missing passport. If it was you or you know the gentleman who tried to hand it in, please contact on this forum. Thanks in advance!

You should have no worries about Safa School. Our son just finished year 6 there after 5 years and he had the best education and experiences. Our daughter has just finished FS1 and will go to FS2 after summer. She settled in very quickly and has always been happy there, as have we. The staff are excellent and put in more than just school hours.

I had this done at the American Hospital here in December. Yes, it's scary to think you need this but, if your doctor is any good, they will calm you down and tell you it's a relatively minor procedure. Mine was under general anaesthetic, no option of being awake. I was in hospital for one day, in bed at home the next and then fine, apart from some slight bleeding. I was back today for a check up smear and will go back again in 4-5 months. Just one thing - I was not told immediately after my smear that I needed LLETZ; I had a colposcopy first and then it was confirmed that the LLETZ was required. Good luck and remember that the tests are there for a reason.

We were in Paris 2007 to 2009. We looked round the British School and were very impressed with the facilities and space, plus there was a school kitchen on site. However, as my husband and I were both working in Paris and the school was a good distance away, we opted instead for the International School of Paris in the 16th. ISP was absolutely fantastic and we were very sorry to leave there. The British School also has a bus service from Paris, depending on the age of your children. However, to get the full experience, I would recommend staying in Paris itself.

Our daughter has been at Little Scholars since she was 3 months old (is now 17 months). She absolutely loves it and is full of smiles and laughs when we go in the door. Little Scholars has changed its management completely since we started but most of the staff (ie the ones my daughter knows) have been there for a long time. She gets breakfast, snack, lunch and snack provided, all freshly prepared on the premises. Young children being sick at nursery is standard and unavoidable but this builds up their immune system for the future.

We visited Horizon two years ago and were very impressed. We were on the waiting list but never got to the top. The school suggested we try Safa instead. We did and our son is now in Year 3 there. He absolutely loves it. The curriculum is varied and interesting. The school is small so it doesn't have facilities like a sports field but they use Safa Park instead. There is a real community feel about the school with the Head and Deputy Head knowing all the children individually. Horizon and Safa are sister schools and I doubt you could go wrong with either.
