Also I'm wondering if we've lost some posts in the migration. I remember seeing a post about some details for a counsellor here in Qatar in the last month and after having promised to retrieve the details, I can't see hide nor hair of the post despite scrolling through the pages and using the search facility. Can you help please?

Emma, you weren't seeing things! There were quite impressive fireworks on the Corniche - like you, I only saw them from the road. I asked our security guys what they were for and he suggested New Year! Maybe the beginning of the tennis tournament? Don't have any other suggestions.
