Hello, please check this link.. http://www.brandsforless.ae/productdetails.aspx?p=Baby-Boys-3-Piece-Embroidered-Satin-Christening-Set-38404 They used to have a Laura Ashley Christening Gown but it's gone. If price is not an object, there are children store in Dubai Mall (top floor) that sells "formal" boys outfit that you can check if acceptable. edited by che731 on 26/11/2014

@Gingerdee, I really do not want him to miss out on regular food and I am 99% convinced he does not have CMPA. So I guess we will go just go bout the normal way. Reading the posts in the FB support group makes my heart ache for the kids and parents. I really hope your daughter outgrows the allergy soon! Thank you for all your answers! You guys are awesome!

Gaaad! Thank you! Yes! There really is no point! Just a first time mom that worries a lot. I was asking the Doc why he is giving him that type of (hydrolized) milk since he does not have any symptoms, he said that his allergy is in his chest (he had a flu!). And, this killed me, "Don't you want what's best for your baby?". Mommy's guilt! Oh well, we had been giving him Liptomil HA since he will not take Aptamil Pepti. So here's hoping for the best! .. He is having ..yogurt...so far no reaction. Yoghurt is full blown cows milk protein, there is no point in giving a hydrolised formula if you are giving yoghurt, and if there is no allergic reaction to yoghurt, then there is no cows milk allergy. Why not just stick with the formula that has been fine up until now? can you not get it anymore? Besides the one off vomiting stint, have there been any other issues/symptoms that make your Dr think there is an allergy? edited by che731 on 13/03/2014

So sorry, no we DID NOT freeze. =( I was not given a special diet. It all happened so fast. We were supposed to visit 2 more clinics but after meeting with Dr. Ghada, my husband decided to go through with her. She was really quite awesome. She knew our circumstances, she was very sympathetic and reassuring. Yes, keep positive. Try to take at least 2 days off your feet after transfer. Just imagine them implanting, I know its weird but everything help. I'm not sure about your beliefs, but I was praying the Rosary every time I was doubtful. You need some sort of meditation, to calm you. Oh best of luck. My prayers will be with you. At whichever clinic you decide just have faith that they have are doing their best to grant you your baby wish!

Thank you gingerdee, I'm so happy with your advise. We're from the Philippines and I spoke to several mom-friends and paeds but they just tell me change milk until he finds one that suits him. We had been giving him Liptomil HA since January, with no reaction at all. Been feeding him "normal" food since 6 months. He is having store bought sliced bread, yogurt, bouillabaisse soup, he even had brownies with nuts, so far no reaction. I saw the posts in the forum and the things they are going through is overwhelming! I am a full time working mom, we are living in RAK and the resources are scarce! I hope he doesn't have it or if he does, its temporary. Thank you again for taking the time to share your knowledge.

Thank you Gingerdee. Your answer is very helpful! I was planning to have him tested for the allergies but I don't think I will go through that now. But I will visit another pedia soon for second opinion. I did found that group in Facebook and I am reading through the threads, I am learning a lot. I posted a question as well and the ladies there are fantastic. At least for now my worries are abated! I do not think my son has CMPA but I would rather not risk it. Still I am careful in introducing new food to him and reading through the ingredients. Actually, my main concern is what will be the long term effect if I do not give him the special formula and just stick to an HA formula. I hope your daughter will outgrow this!

No, we did freeze. We cannot afford it. We are staying in RAK, the commute has terrible as well! I hope your hubbie stays with you during the procedure, his support and attention will lessen your stress. Unfortunately, we did lose 1 baby at the 27th week gestation. We thought we would lose them both but thank God the other one survived and came on the 34th week. Premature but healthy otherwise, he is now 9 months and a bundle of energy. Wow, that's a whole lot of money. We did not go for PGD, it was not offered at that time. My blood tests were okay but both fallopian tubes were blocked so IVF is the only solution for us. The whole process is nerve racking and utterly stressful. I was injecting myself with the meds and was crying all the time. Whenever I am doubtful, I look at baby pictures in my friend's facebook photos and I get determination. Do not entertain doubts for now, keep positive and imagine that in a few months you'll be a mommy. Check Mummabear's posts as well. She had a positive experience with Dr. Fakih's clinic. Do keep us updated, I am rooting for you!

No probs! I am glad to share my experience. Consultation was done September 2012, we went ahead with the procedure on October 2012. 2 weeks of Stimulation, one day to collect 19 eggs, 11 were fertilized, 6 were grade A, 2 implanted, got twins (2 Boys). 1st IVF and we got a positive. Egg collection was just 1 day. There was no confinement. Transfer was 1 day. I had to stay for an hour or so after just so the anesthesia wore off. IVF is 25K. Add to that the scans after you get pregnant and the meds, it will come up to almost 30K. Like most clinic, you will be quoted just the IVF fees (just for procedure itself), ask about the consultation fees, medicines, scans, etc. Just so you go through it with knowing what to expect. I had the most awesome Doctor, Doctor Ghada, but she is not there anymore. =( Still, the staff is great and if given the opportunity, I will go back to them. I also went to Dr. Fakih for consultation, unfortunately it was very expensive for us. But there are a lot of expatladies that were able to get pregnant on the first try.

Oh Joyce, I teared up reading this. Please tell your daughter not to give up. Like her, I have always dreamed of becoming a mother. We had to go through IVF too and we only had 1 shot at it, I had to take out a loan and it will 4 years to pay. We took a leap of faith and was blessed with twins, we lost 1 at 27 weeks but we still have a bubbly little boy. I can only imagine her disappointments and frustrations, she is not alone, a lot of us go through that, and more. My prayers are with her and with your family.

Hi che731! I also got pregnant on my first IVF with Enjab Hospital in Sharjah, Got implanted with 4 embryos and 2 stuck. I also got pregnant with twin boys. Everything went well and gave birth on my 36th week , one is weighing 2.08 kg and other is 2.21 kg, they are both well now on their 7 weeks and gained so much weight as well. I remember we were in the same thread with that IVF thing, glad to know that you had also twin boys and sad that one was not able to make it. Yes, I remember seeing you on that thread as well and I am so happy all went well for you and for the babies! Glad that they are doing well. I can only imagine you juggling 2 babies, twice as hard and twice as joyful I presume!

Thank you mamabear. It was a difficult time and the longest 5 weeks. I still mourn for my other baby. Seeing the "double" stuffs we have at home still gives me PTSD. But i do have a beautiful baby boy And for now this is enough. I still thank God for letting me borrow an angel for 27 weeks. LO is lucky to have a companion for a while. :)

Hello sakn, I did not put him in a cradle. I just placed him on his crib. As long as we was swaddled he was okay. I (full) bathe him every other day, in the morning. On days i don't bathe him I (half) bath him with just warm water and wash cloth. Every evening, just wash cloth and warm water as well. Make sure you turn off the ac and have everything ready esp a thick towel just in case they get chilled. H We used baby first gumdrops pacies. He does not seem to like other pacies. We only use pacies when he wants to be fed and we need to warm his milk. We don't let him sleep with it. We are using avent bottles, but did notice he was choking a bit. So i checked the flow of each nipple and noticed that there were 2 that seems squirt instead of drop, all nipple are 1. I was able to buy preemies clothing at babyshop. They were on sale at the time so i was able to buy a few, good thing though coz he grew out of them so fast. I live in RAK so I don't have suggestions on the doc in dubai as well as for where to shop for preemie items. edited by che731 on 23/08/2013

Good for you! I hope you are all doing well. Yes, I boil the water. My baby latched but was too lazy to feed (he was called Lazy Boy at the NICU). I started expressing as well and my milk stopped at 1 1/2 month. I really wanted to BF but he will just sleep when I hold him. We tried taking off his clothes, tickling his feet, even put some water in his closed eyes, but no avail. Yes, he slept a lot. I was very worried initially. Even now at 2 months my baby sleeps 15-20 hours a day. I guess they're making up for the time they are supposed to be in the tummy. I am giving my baby Liptomil 1 as prescribed by the doctor. My baby gained just a few ounces after 2 weeks. Then on the third week, he won't stop feeding and he was finishing 20-30 ml in every 1-2 hours. I was again worried! (Jeeezz!) But I read that they go through a growth spurt. I am not sure about the stiffness, you should ask your doctor. My advise is list down all your concerns and questions so you can the doctor on your next visit. Yes, I lay him on his back, all bundled up in his swaddle. But now at 2 months he prefers an adult pillow when trying to sleep, I still lay him on his back once he is asleep though.

Hello everyone, I forgot I was on this thread. Just an update. Got pregnant on my first IVF with New Hope. Got implanted with 2 embyos and 2 stuck. I was pregnant with twin boys. All was well until 26th week. On the 27th week, it was found that one baby had no heartbeat. I was devastated. Still am. But other baby was doing well. Days after we found out we were scrambling on what to do. After tons of test and UTZ from different hospitals, clinics and doctors, it was established that they have separate sacs and placenta, I can carry the other baby til term or at least 34 weeks. Baby came at 34 weeks 4 days. He is now a healthy 2 month old. I do not know how to end this. I am happy and sad at the same time. I hope everyone is doing well with their TTC. Best of Luck!

Hello Sakn, I posted the below reply on a different thread. I'm not mamabear but I am hoping I can help. =) First up, Congratulations!! I am hoping all is well with you and the babies. I also delivered at 34 weeks. I was allowed to go home the day after delivery but since my baby is still in the NICU, I opted to stay. My baby was at NICU for a week, he would have been allowed to go home at his 5th day but his bilirubin level went up at the day of his discharge. My baby weighed 2.14 kg though and I had steroid shot at 28th weeks due to some complications. So his lungs was okay at birth. In my case the doctors at the NICU told me that his weight was okay, he was breathing well, sucking (feeding) well, and was eliminating well. I guess these are few of the concerns that needed to be addressed before baby is allowed to be home. It really is scary to handle such fragile creatures at first. I was a first time mom and hubbie would not even hold the baby as he may damage him. When I took him home, I would almost cry whenever I'm changing his nappy, his clothes, his cap, they were too big! None fit! Even the tiniest socks and mittens would fall off. But babies are resilient, my 2 month old preemie has caught up size wise and weight wise. We had our check up today and the doctor told us that his weight and size is that of a normal 2 month old. He grew so fast some of his 0-3 clothes were not used! Now I am using some of his 3-6 months clothes. This is not to say I was not worried, I was so paranoid that every cough wants me to bring him to he ER! Just take it a day at a time and enjoy every day. It will be challenging but it will be rewarding as well. I'll watch this thread just in case you have any questions, as I said I'm a first time mommy so not at all an expert. hi,sakn here.hope you are doing well. I delivered at 34 weeks, week ago.i have to ask you so many things to help me takecare of the babies. Please tell me how long you were dischaeged from the hosp.what abt the LOs they stayed in nicu?what was the birth weight.for mine was 1.8kg.n please let me know how to handle such small baby n how long will it take for them to grow. edited by che731 on 18/08/2013

I made an inquiry with Fakih as well as Conceived but we decided to go ahead with a clinic in Sharjah called New Hope Hospital. We are also blessed with twin boys on our first try, now at my 27 weeks! My doctor was very nice and the staff is very supportive. Here's their phone number should you want to inquire, 06-525-4446.

Has anyone taken these medications? inshAllah i have a little strong baby trying to stick and grow. good luck to all! @T85, Oh, such good news! I really hope the little one or two will stick! Continue to be positive and hopefully we'll hear a confirmed good news by next week. I was given crinone (vaginal cream) after the transfer and continued to use it up to 12 weeks of pregnancy. Only that and the usual vit supplement. Will continue to pray for you and the baby! Have a happy new year everyone!

I would like to know when was your first beta hcg test and what were the results. Thanks in advance @T85, I'm so sorry you are feeling down. It is too early to test, I was told to go for my beta after 14 days. But I cheated and bought an HPT at 11 days and it was (-)! I left the HPT at the washroom for 10 mins and when I came back I found the faintest 2nd line. At 12th day I went for my beta and it was 500+, my doctor said, I was TOO MUCH pregnant, which worried me initially. I guess, its different for everyone. Just hang on a little bit more. We will pray for a better beta levels in two days.

@T85, I did have menstrual like pains. But it was very mild and tolerable. Try not worry in the meantime since it is out of your hand. Just visualize them growing inside and bond with them. If you have a serious doubt, call your doctor. You are ALWAYS entitled for an answer and support. I'm really sorry I can't offer you more, I did this only once. My prayers will be with you in the coming days! :)

@T85, So far, it looks good, 2 more days and you will know how many will be viable for transfer. It really is not the quantity but the quality of the eggs. =) They harvested 19 from me, 11 were fertilized and 6 were grade A, 2 were transferred. But I did not really have a problem with my ovulation, both of my tubes were blocked, thus the IVF. After ER, I was only prescribed 2 panadol per day that I took for 2 days. Also given crinone (a progesterone cream) that I still use til today. But other than that, no other meds. We'll continue to pray for the embies and hopefully we will hear more good news in the coming days! :) :) :)

@jimnbaby, I did have some back pain after the BFP. It was not cramping though. But i called my clinic to ask if i could get a massage, i spoke to one of the nurses & she informed me not to get any massages. After a few minutes my doctor called me to ask where the location of the pain & to decribe the pain. She was very concerned & told me to call her for any worries i have. I think you should call your doctor & ask. I understand your paranoia. I bought a bunch of HPTs and whenever i feel "wierd" (i had menstrual-like pains) i take one. Seeing the lines calmed me. I dont think the worries will go away. But you need to check with your doctor for your assurance. I am no expert, i did this only once & i can only share what i experienced.

@plumtree, Yes, It could be implantation spotting. I did have sort of mentrual cramps during the 2WW. About the crying, its okay. I cried so many times, its not funny! ? feel free to blame it on the hormones, on the weather, whatever gets you through. Nobody really knows what we go through. And you, having been through this before, i can only respect your strength & perseverance. Hold on to the positivity for a few more days okay? My thoughts are with you daily & i am keeping you & jimnbaby in my prayers. I know it isnt much, but that we are here for you. *warm virtual hug*

@Jimnbaby-- Congratulations! You will be in my prayers always.. fingers and toes crossed for you! I only took 3 days off from work so lucky you that you have 2 weeks! Try to stay relax and listen to inspiring songs. I used one earphone and place the other one on my lower belly. I know they can't hear yet! But sharing that moment helped me bond and visualize that they are growing inside me. I listened to Matthew West's Safe and Sound and put it on repeat! =) Also I prayed a lot. Whenever I get a [i'>bit[/i'> of my "hysterics", I say the rosary. I used it as sort of meditation. You can use any meditation that can calm you down. Also, I watched the season 1-8 of Scrubs (one of my fave series) to distract me during the 2WW. Best of luck! Take care always!

Thanks che731, tonight at 11:30pm is my scheduled egg retrieval. do you have any tips on what to do before the time comes? i'll be fasting for 8 hrs starting from 4pm today. what was your experience when you did it? Wow, good luck! I had my retrieval in the morning. I was sedated but still very conscious during the entire procedure. It was a bit painful but tolerable. The process took a little more than 20 minutes. After the procedure I was allowed to rest for an hour in the clinic and was then allowed to go home. I was groggy the rest of the day and just slept it off. The next day I felt much better and no residual pain. Still I was prescribed panadol for 2 days. My doctor told me how many "good" eggs were harvested. I had my retrieval on a Thursday too, then on Saturday I got a call from my doctor informing me how many was fertilized and how many was grade A. Best of Luck. Truly, my prayers and thoughts will be with you tonight.

Hi Jimnbaby, No discharges for me. But I did have a little cramping on my lower tummy, its very tolerable though. I thought it was because I was hyper-producing eggs and enlarging them. So I took it as a good sign! :) Still, best to ask your doctor. Good Luck with the scans, I really hope you get good size eggs!

Yes, cut out caffeine. It was probably the most difficult thing I have to do after years of drinking 3-4 cups a day. Also, try to relax. I know, easy to say. I am an over thinker and worrier so you can just imagine how much crazy I have to reign in. :) Try to visualize positive thoughts as well, listen to calming music and read post of ladies getting a positive through IVF for inspiration. I also informed my husband that the treatment will wreck havoc on my hormones so expect extra (extra) mood swings. This helped a lot, I got ice creams and massages! :) Best of Luck to you T85!

Hi All, CHE731... thank you for your reply.I will also make an appointment with New Hope as another option. can you provide the cost at that clinic? I will probably start treatment mid December. So I still have some time to think it through. I am so happy to hear that you have found a clinic and doctor that you are comfortable with. :) IIVF cost at New Hope is AED 15,500. IVF/ICSI is AED 22,000 it was only AED 19,000 a month or so ago. This above is cost is not inclusive of the meds and blood test. I have spent a total of AED 25,000+. We did IVF/ICSI but we were able to avail of the then lesser fee. My thoughts and prayers will be with you.. Keep us posted! :)

Hi Homesick, I just want to share my story to you as well. We had been TTC for 3 years and went through the same course as you. My first doctor, Dr. N, initially asked for some lab test, SA, etc. Results went back okay and I was started on clomid, etc. Every time, she tells me I'm ovulating "beautifully" and I will get pregnant this month. So whenever AF come, I am a basket case. Between treatments, she did an HSG (this was done in her clinic with just the ultrasound) and told me both tubes are patent. The treatment continued for 6 months. Then she went on vacation and I went on my annual leave, so I stopped for 6 months. I came back to Dr. N for another 5 rounds of (almost) the same treatment and still nothing happened. At my friends egging, I decided to go to another Doctor, Dr. A. After 2 treatments and BFNs, she asked me to go for diagnostic HSG (this involves an x-ray of the tubes while the dye is injected). It was found out that both of my tubes were blocked. I was devastated even though this was my suspicion all along. The next step is IVF. The reason I stayed so long with Dr. N is because she keeps reassuring me that there is nothing wrong and that [i'>"You will get pregnant this month!"[/i'> I guess I was scared of finding a new doctor that will tell me that THERE IS something wrong. But after months of emotional roller coaster, I got fed up. I was glad I sought another opinion and take an appropriate step for resolution. Dallydoo is correct, do your research and if time and resources will allow, visit several doctors before making your decision. Peace of mind is a valuable commodity for us that are going through this. You are so brave to ask and hopefully you will have your answer soon. All the best! :)

Thinking of checking New Hope Center as well. 2 people here seem to have good feedback but for some reason i feel they are ads as the people posting have 2 or 3 posts only? i do not mean to offend anyone but just saying my thoughts. Anyways would love to hear more. Thanks edited by T85 on 08/11/2012 edited by T85 on 08/11/2012 I'm not at all offended. :) It is understandable that you feel that way. When I read Ms. Zahra's post below, I thought she was an ad too! :) I am a lurker and I did not feel I have much to share until now. I posted my high regards for New Hope in the hope that it brings good news to others as well. This forum have help me shaped our decision and made me ask relevant questions during the visit to the doctors. I want to do my part as well. There is no harm in visiting several clinics, that was my intention at first. Make sure that you bring all the tests results, etc. I even wrote a history of my treatments just so I will not have to narrate over and over. I was charged AED 750 on my first visit to new hope (but this included an SA for the hubby). Dr. Fakih's clinic charged AED 300 for the visit. There are a lot of factors to consider before taking the IVF plunge. The stability of the clinic, success rate, etc. I think the Doctor's attention and how she made us comfortable was one of the factor that settled us with New Hope. Dr. Ghada spent a lot of time time with us and answered our questions with patience. I really can't thank her enough! All my best wishes to you and hopefully you will find a clinic that will make you comfortable enough to have peace of mind when you have the treatment.

Hello everyone, long time lurker, first post. I just want to share my IVF experience for the benefit of those who are making their decisions. I went to New Hope Hospital in Sharjah, I am also happy to say we got our BFP! The staff was excellent and our Doctor, Dr. Ghada Hosny is not only an awesome doctor but a wonderful person as well. We were never hurried and we were encouraged to ask our questions. We initially wanted to visit several clinics so I made appointments with New Hope, Dr. Fakih and Conceive. We went to New Hope in the morning, then to Dr. Fakih in the afternoon. We were scheduled with Conceive a few weeks after. But after meeting Dr. Ghada and the staff, both me and my husband made the decision to go ahead with New Hope, best decision ever. We hope all the best to those that are trying. As hilsbils said, IVF is not for the faint hearted. Keep strong and my thoughts are prayers will be with you all.
