Quinn10: don't be so quick to judge. My husband and I have both battled with weight all our lives, so I am very, very strict with what my children eat. My son had this that my cousin's house 7 months ago and has been asking for it since! He has nagged and even cried but I have not given in. [i'>di@DXB: what is the brand of the coconut oil you use? Does it not change the flavour of the food?[/i'> Daza: my son is 7 too. The peanut butter from the organic shop sounds like what I am looking for. Thanks LovelyLilies: I thought grapeseed oil cannot be heated beyond a certain temperature. Maybe I am mistaken. Thanks for the other ideas, they are all great! :) Ladybirdsarethebest: I must really make a trip to the organic shop. Thanks :) I am currently using a live natural coconut oil I bought at the Be Supernatural Organic store in Jumeirah, Organic Foods and Cafe also have an organic coconut oil, it comes in a glass jar, cannot recal the brand name. I find it enhances the flavor of the food and does not overide the flavours at all.

[i'>5 Is there a cooking oil that is better than canola?[/i'> Yes, Coconut oil is great, so many health benefits, a healthy fat and good for you, I use it for everything even scrambed eggs. I would recommend it way over any other cooking oil.

You've been faithfully recommending Skynet to everyone regularly Di@Dubai. I related my experience with them and it could be useful for anyone using them. I had CLEARLY marked the parcel as 'RETURNS', Figleaves is a huge retailer that sends out parcels worldwide, I had filled out a form, Skynet's form for returns, CLEARLY stating that it was returns. There is NO WAY it was to be charged customs for, otherwise there is no point in having the Returns form filled out at Dubai. The DED warning resulted in the parcel quickly being handed over to Figleaves without a customs charge, why? If they were so sure there was not enough proof that the parcel was sent by Figleaves and was now being returned to them how come they quietly handed it over? So again, be careful with Skynet, especially when sending any returns. [i'>"You've been faithfully recommending Skynet to everyone regularly Di@Dubai..."[/i'>edited by Chocobella on 01/07/2013 Yes..because I have never had any issues with them so that's why I always recommend them! My point was your situation with them was not relevant to the OP's question as she did not say she was looking to make a return. She wants advice on a regular delivery so I feel perfectly justified to recommend any company that I have used without problem, If that is OK with you! <em>edited by Di@DXB on 01/07/2013</em>

Be careful with Skynet. They try to fleece you AFTER your package has reached UK. I sent a clearly marked 'Returns' package to Figleaves, filled up a returns form here at Dubai and when the package reached there, UK Skynet office refused to release it saying since it was merchandise it will be charged customs. Figleaves were really helpful, I have all the correspondence, they tried to give them documents that proved that the items were sent from Figleaves and were returns but they just kept asking for some impossible doc. Finally we told Skynet that we will file a complaint with DED if they didn't release it to Figleaves. The next thing we knew was that the package was received by Figleaves, no customs charge. Like I said, be careful. They did this with all documentation in place, including a form filled up here saying CLEARLY it was returns. Also, I think it's 80 AED for 500gms. ETA: Sorry my bad, it is 55 AED for 500gms. edited by Chocobella on 30/06/2013 Your warning may be appropriate for 'returns' where they possibly thought there was a potential customs issue and that can happen anywhere with any courier, I've used them for years and they have been fine for regular parcels to the UK which is what the OP is looking for.

[i'>"The mailing address includes both the company street address and PO box number .."[/i'> I think this could be the problem, it is being dealt with as undeliverable due to the presence of a street address and they are not taking any notice of the PO Box written on it and since there is no postal address delivery here it goes to undeliverable. Try adjusting the redirect to include only the PO Box.

Although it is not a universally recognized condition because it isn't known yet whether its an effect of food sensitivities and an underlying metabolic problem. there is growing evidence to support it by some well know doctors such as Sandy Newmark, M.D., who deals with leaky gut syndrome in children, Dr. Newmark says that it has been established that a significant percentage of children with autism have increased intestinal permeability. http://www.drweil.com/drw/u/QAA361058/what-is-leaky-gut.html I know this is meant well, and I'm all for open mindedness, but I'm sure I'm not the only parent of an autistic child who finds all these studies using sketchy data to link autism to various food categories and unproven intestinal issues slightly annoying. I can only say that in the case of going gluten free there was a marked improvement in our experience with an our autistic LO when we cut it out from her diet. But as with most things not every line of treatment fits all.

Boy oh boy, I sincerely hope you're not forming an opinion on this one (badly written) article, that appears to come from someone who's already a garlic hater anyway. There's some incredible sweeping statements in there: Italian soldiers being poor shots? "All the great chefs" learning to cook without garlic? Hardly tasting anything but garlic once you've added it to your cooking? What about the myriad of legitimate studies proving the efficacy of garlic? Sounds like a load of old phooey to me ... I am keeping an open mind that's all, and who knows there could be some truth in it, if you have any proof that there's no truth to this at all then do share it with us but there is no need to belittle other people on the forum.

Di, do you get the Shea Butter somewhere here or is it mail order? It's availabe at the Ripe Organic Farm shop off the Wasl Road, or you can order it from them online for home delivery, it's 100% Raw live organic Shea Butter. N.B. L'Occitaine shea butter is not raw or live, it's chemcally processed with the life stripped out of it and contains synthetic fragrance too which could easily irritate sensitive skin, they tend to try to hide that fact but it's well documented. Any shea butter that's adulterated willl not have any medicinal healing benefit. hth

Try 100% raw organic unrefined Shea Butter, it is highly anti inflamatory and healing, alongside that taking the natural route, a soap rich in beta hydroxy is also beneficial. see reviews on Keratosis Pilaris.org http://www.keratosispilaris.org/general-discussion/2911-100-shea-butter.html

I really think it's a pity that the Crafters Tables cost AED2000 for a 2x2 table at the event! This is beyond the reach of most crafters, shame the pricing could not have been more reasonable.

Depends if you want a commercial product or prefer an organic natural alternative, I use a whipped organic Shea butter with Argan oil. It's effective and natural, I am complimented all the time for my youthful complexion and without wishing to appear boastful am regularly taken to be a good 15 years yourger than my age. I have heard good things about the performance of certain commercial products and I'm sure many will be recommmed such to you on here but personally I prefer to avoid chemicals that can cause cancer and disrupt hormones.

Good morning Di@Dxb, when I went to pay and they informed me about the price and that they do not have a seperate price for a cut only I said that then I want a blow dry as I am not going to pay for something that I haven't received... But what you suggested is actually what I should have done, I just did not think of that at that moment. Saving the consumer rights n6mber on my phone now for future disputes. I am more upset about the fact that they chose to not tell me that I can't have a cut only than about the money. I felt like I was being taken for a fool. It's not too late still to go back and inform them of your intention to take this up with the Economic dept, I would do that as soon as possible. (They may be closed today it being a holiday.) But you must deal with informing the hairdresser of your intention first before contacting the ED as they will only act to resolve an issue if you have tried to and failed. <em>edited by Di@DXB on 06/06/2013</em>

This is deceptive of them, you should complain to the manageress and if that gets you nowhere inform them that you will be calling the Economic dept, if that does not get you a refund do call the Economic Dept they are very helpful. Clearly they have not been straightforward when you asked for a cut only and then charged you for a service you did not receive. I would not let this go. http://www.consumerrights.ae/aspx/about/contact.aspx

I was in the same boat a few week ago, brand new King Size bed, I knocked the price down 50% which I expected to have to do and still only got stupid offers, one person actually offered me 100 dirhams for it. It was 4 weeks old and had cost 2,800 new and unused. You will need to knock the price down considerably, as it is used although only slightly. Perhaps if you are really desperate try Cash Converters, they may take it on a consigment basis so at least you can dispose of it quickly and will get something for it when it's eventually sold. i find when selling and buying that using email and not posting my phone number works best. it avoids tire kickers and you can send or request more images that way. both baby related things i've posted recently sold in days without annoying hagglers. You must be lucky, I have never posted my phone number on Dubizzle & always only used email but that made no difference at all, still got nothing but time wasters. In fact it was very tiresome dealing with people who kept emailing for details that were clearly described in the ad, then they would come around having agreed on the "last price" when I have said absolutely no further reduction and waste my time again trying to haggle it down to a piffling amount. I had a brand new bed to sell last month and in the end I gave it way rather than be ripped off with a stupid offer.

Have you looked here on the EW classifieds, I find the posters on here much more reliable. Using Dubizzle always reminds me of the fact that there is only a five per cent difference between man and chimpanzees.

If you prefer to avoid chemical screens checkout the list of safe rated sunscreens here http://www.ewg.org/2013sunscreen/best-sunscreens/best-beach-sport-sunscreens/ There's good info about SPF factor rating on each product as well as safety hazard ratings, a SPF claim of over 60 is misleading according to the FDA, You can look up the chemical hazard rating for any product for eg. http://www.ewg.org/2013sunscreen/about-the-sunscreens/496669/La_Roche-Posay_Anthelios_60_Face_Melt-In_Sunscreen_Lotion%2C_SPF_60/

Thanks amandshaks and Sue, will try the Organic store, I would have got a breadmaker machine but I don't ever eat bread, just looking for some for my visitors who are really fussy about ingredients! Otherwise its going to be a case of "let them eat cake" without being churlish at all - cant you tell them to bring their own given how hard it is to source what you need here. Personally I would go for eating the cake rather than the bread any day of the week. edited by DesertRose1958 on 25/05/2013 Yes you are so right, I should have told them to bring the type they like and save myself all this fruitless running around.
