I recently burned myself on my face with a curling iron. ( Yes I am super clumsy) And now I have a mark on my face and its not going away. I tried bio oil and it didn't seem to help. I felt like my skin didn't react well to it. Now I am using a Clinique dark spot corrector cream but no change to the mark. Any suggestions ladies? Bio Oil is nothing but overpriced mineral oil, it has no natural ingredients at all, in fact it's full of very toxic petrochemicals so that could be why you reacted badly to it.. All the hype around this product is very misleading. http://www.thewellnesswarrior.com.au/2012/04/8-beauty-brands-you-would-think-are-natural-but-arent/

I use Black Cumin seeds, fine for savouries and breads, they look the same although taste a little bitter which I don't mind as they are full of health benefits too. http://www.livestrong.com/article/338966-black-cumin-seed-benefits/

Now if they only were to show this on all incoming flights [b'>there would be a lot less 'mishaps'.[/b'> http://video.news.com.au/2281511855/Dubai---the-rules Informative and amusing too :) you really think so ?? You think that the types of people who behave this way would take any notice of a video ? How many people take their belts off and start emptying overhead lockers the millisecond the plane touches down, even after being told not to....how many people even pay attention to the safety video/instructions ?? entertaining little video but in my opinion there will be plenty who won't take any notice.... Also, in the list of arrestable offences they mention spitting..... really ?? spitting's illegal here ??? I don't think I said it was going to prevent blatant ruler breakers from doing what they are intent to do anyway so why all the double ?? I said it might prevent "mishaps" Its just an piece of useful info put in a way that's easy to watch, surprised something like this seems to have upset you. I really cannot answer you question on the statistics of how many people might take heed of such information, who knows, but it could well be useful for those who are unaware and who may accidentally fall foul of the rules at least. I am not the maker of this video so if they got the bit about spitting wrong maybe you should take that up with the producers. edited by Di@DXB on 28/03/2013 no i'm not "upset" and no they didn't get it wrong.... I guess sarcasm isn't understood here........ The repeated use of question marks in one paragraph in sets of two and three - 10 in all does give the impression that you totally disagree with what you are quoting. Usually when posters intend sarcasm they put a grin after their post. But I see from your other post that you use muliple exclamation marks as well so obviously you either have a sticky keyboard or its your personal writing 'style' :D edited by Di@DXB on 28/03/2013

I agree with Pikachu. If you haven't considered those things by the time you are in-flight, then you probably couldn't care less. Or possibly be completely unaware. Considering all of the UAE residents who act/dress "unaware", I'm inclined to think it's not a matter of being innocently unaware. It's a matter of not caring and knowing they can get away with it. This video aims at informing incoming tourists not UAE residents.

Flyaway? What about 'runaway' hair? Mine's mental :) You find good stuff, Di. If I get out that way I'm willing to try it. I am a huge fan of my Lush shampoo bar, but now that I am washing my hair more often that usual, I think it's stripping it of its natural oils, so I'm in the market for something else. thanks for the share :) The Born to Bio really does'nt strip the hair, that's what I love about it, clean hair but no frizz and lovely condition, I don't think you will be dissapointed - if it can tame my mop it should be just as good on yours :)

I'm surprised they are selling a natural shampoo. I will check it out. I started using Miriam Quevedo hair serum, which is also paraben-free. It's sold at Areej and Faces. It's not cheap, but I can vouch for it and say that it is better than Moroccan oil. Is the Miriam Quevedo hair serum a shampoo too? I was surprised to see a certified organic hair product in Geant too, but it is a French product and Geant a French chain so perhaps that's how they come to have it.

My DS just drinks fruit juice when he has a hypo, we buy those small multi packs of real jiuce not the nectar syrup type, and find one of those packets just the right amount usually if he is low. ETA plus those small packets are a lot easy to carry around than a bottle of Lucozade, he can put it in his back pack when he goes anywhere and it always within reach. He also carries jelly beans, they are also great for sudden hypos, depending on the sugar levels usually 5 beans does the trick. edited by Di@DXB on 14/03/2013

My daughter sent a box back from Australia via Australian postal services and put my physical address on rather then my PO Box. So I went down to Karama PO and asked if they had it. I was only there about 10 mins and they charged me 2 dhs admin fee and I got the parcel. Very Happy!! You were very lucky as they only keep misdirected parcels for a couple of weeks and if you don't know from the sender that they have addressed it wrongly the chances are you will miss retrieving it before they dispose of it. I've had parcels sent to my home address here by mistake and always found out too late about it, I think informing perople abroad that there is no home delivery here should be on the list of topics about living in Dubai on the 'Guide to Life in Dubai' on the site.

I have not seen the root here only the de-glycyrrhizinated licorice tablets, these do not contain the element in licorice that causes adverse effects which can be serious pregnant or not. A quick Google of its use during pregnancy brings multiple results showing it is highly contraindicated. [b'>It is UNSAFE to take licorice by mouth if you are pregnant. It might cause a miscarriage or early delivery. Not enough is known about the safety of licorice during breast-feeding. Don’t use licorice if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.[/b'> http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/natural/881.html

What do you think manure is? Been used for centuries on veggies and the human race seems to be doing quite well. True, but the timing of when it's sprayed over the crops it vital, if done at a suitable time before harvesting it will be absorbed by the plants but if left too late before picking thats when the problem arises when you will see the fecal matter on the produce.

I could never buy from the "open" spice and nuts, for all of the reasons listed below! All of the people walking by , coughing and sneezing all over- yuck! And God knows what else all over it! It is also gross to me all of the bread and bagels left in the open air at the grocery store. I once watched 2 people carry on a long conversation while leaning over the uncovered bagels. No thanks! (Barf!!) I totally agee about the 'open bread', just cannot fathom how anyone can think it hygenic to have the bread left open to everyone to touch or sneeze over. It's not something you can wash. How the Municipality regulations permit this astounds me.

I recommend Tart Cherry juice or capsules, no need for drowsy meds that make you groggy, Tart Cherry is full of potassium that helps sleep and anti oxidents that are good for your health too. It helps getting off to sleep and staying asleep for a full night's rest. Available at most health stores, got mine at Nutrition Zone.

This 'news' does not surprise me, I have frequently remarked on seeing produce on supermarket displays covered in organic waste matter, partularly the local zucchini seems to always have lumps of fecal matter clinging all over it. Other veggies too. Besides the manure that is left on the produce it is common practice here to water crops with waste water which is not safe for human consumption.

Contact Kiran at Morya Real Estate. Her number is 050 6569472. She'll be very helpful as she does a lot of rentals in the Marina. I'm looking for a rental for friends in the Marina, JBR or Tecom. Have tried to visit the website of Morya Real Estate but they do not seem to have one at all and I do not find them listed as an approved agent on the RERA website, are you sure this is a bona fide company?

She could try Tart Cherry juice or capsules as a natural option, certainly will not hurt her, tart cherry contains a natural form on melatonin and is also full of potassium and anti oxidents too. It's said to help getting to sleep and staying asleep. Have tried it and find it definitely helped without the groggy after effects of full dose melatonin tabs or prescription tablets.

Hi there. Can anyone tell me if it would be possible for me (or my husband) to sponsor my parents. We are British and I have a married sister living in the UK so not sure if that would mean I could not qualify as being their sole provider (even though she does not work)? Does anyone know what exactly they look for and take into account eg if they had their own home would that also go against it?. Thanks - for those that do have "older" parents here do you manage to organise health insurance ok - my parents are 65 and 70 and my mum is also diabetic. Thanks for any advice . You should be eligible, it depends a lot on the salary of the sponsor, which can be you or your husband. There is a deposit of 5k per parent, and with other fees will total about 7k each, the min salary is 7k for the sponsor of course the higher the earning the better your chances of approval. The residence will only be for one year at a time and is renewed quite easily with the normal visa renewal charges. You will need to provide a stat dec of your relationship and that you or your husband are the sole provider and a letter from your side appealing on humanitarian grounds Your non working sister in the UK should not be a factor. You could try Daman insurance as there is no age limit on the UAE plan at least, it covers most essentials inclusing part dental. You pay first 20%. Not sure about how diabetes would effect insurance though. You have to sponsor both parents if both are still living and it will take about two weeks to have a decision. You can find more details on the DNRD website. hth

I save by only buying clothes shoes and major items in the sales. Never do the food shopping when I am hungry. Not shopping for food in the expensive supermarkets. If I see a food item that tempts me but I don't really need it, I ask myself if it costs more than a chicken, if so I don't allow myself to buy it. I call it 'chiconomics', saves me money and sometimes calories :) I love that! I am implementing chiconomics:) :)

Hallo, thank you very much to answer me. Yes, I am looking regular paper napkins but I would like to find more options than in the supermarket. i already found some options in Ikea and somebody told me that in the DRagon Markt, is to use it for handcraft and decoupage. I wil check this places. I think I saw some better quality and more designer napkins in Borders bookstore too.

I shop at Al Maya. I used to do a physical coop shop, and while it is cheaper, I found I was spending 300AED more on things I didn't need. Plus the kids would always see Subway and want that. Cut the 300 and subway/week and bingo 1500AED straight to the savings. Some things I could still cut, one is juice. We buy a lot of small juices, big bottles would be cheaper, like gallon bottles of water are cheaper than a box of 500/330ml ones, but these two are still my more money things. So I would get, say Al Rawabi juices, from 1.50aed at Al Maya, DH could get them for 1.25 at a little store. We buy 40 a week, instant 10AED a week/40 a month or 480 a year. Send DH to get washing powder, cleaning products, toiletries from coop, men hate shopping so he will only get what you tell him to, that could save you 400 a month, or 4800 a year. Use your coins. As I mentioned, Indian restaurants are inexpensive, they could be paid for with your coins, it's like a free meal. Cut corners in some things. For me it is sponges, I buy cheap sponges for cleaning, good ones for washing up dishes. [b'>Is there an equally good shampoo a bit cheaper? [/b'> Basic TV packages still have good channels and you'll find shows you like. I really use to be wasteful with money, buying far more than necessary, eating out, just not accountable. I didn't want to pass that onto my children, I wanted to pass on property. Yes, I find the Australian brand 'Organic Care' excellent, they do a range for all hair types and a kiddies shampoo, only dhs14 for a big bottle and it lasts a good long time. Organic too and free from SLS, SLES etc. Even the bottle is plant based material and bio degradable. Its in C4 and Lu Lu as well as Geant.

[b'>She probably is referring to KHDA reports[/b'>. IMHO, EIS has been there longer, has a more established reputation which is why I'd prefer it. I also like EIS is also IB. I have relatives there and they are extremely happy, from primary to high. EIS also has a good reputation when going to a uni here or applying for a job (from what I've heard). Do you think KHDA reports are something to pin your decision on? We have just applied for Raffles and been told its full, we had one child there before this, she did extremely well academically and loved the school and the teachers. No idea about EIS but it would be our second choice after Raffles.
