Hi, I bought mine at home in Boots so might be worth trying there. They also sell a tea tree shampoo that I find helps prevent this occurring again. Welcome to Doha by the way. Jen edited by jdcgl on 26/12/2014 Hiya, I tried Boots but couldn't find one. Teatree is probably the way forward once I'm done with the fiasco, god knows I don't want to be in this situation again. Thanks for the tip

Hi Curlyezzy :) We went through this phase last year and I too was at my wits end searching for a comb and my pediatrician friend recommended buying a cat flea comb!! Seriously lol! Wasn't quite the same as the UK Nitty Gritty and was small so took a while but it did work eventually. Hope that helps as I agree re lotions as they contain pesticides x Ooooh Teapothot, cat flea comb, now that's a new one. Right off to the pet shop I go, may even get a cat to go with the comb! Lol

I will be in Carrefour in a couple of hours and will have a look for you. If you send me an email Katya0711 at gmail dot com I can send your photos to save you a wasted trip. Email sent, thanks for being so helpful.

Hi There was some hair lice treatments and combs in carrefour at city centre, next to the medicines ( bottom shelf?) though I'm not sure of the brand. Another option is to call a salon and ask if they could recommend anywhere. Desert princess which is english owned may be able to point you in the right direction? How annoying that I was there yesterday and didn't think to check at Carrefour. Thanks for the tips, I'll give it a go.

Ladies thank you both so much for going out of your way to help me. 2nd opossum, I also went to City centre mall this morning to the Ebn Sina pharmacy and got odd looks when I tried to explain what I was looking for. So thanks for trying from your end. I looked around many of the pharmacies that I could find and couldn't find anything. Dra, thank you for generously offering to bring one over. I would've snapped up that offer in an instant if I wasn't going to be in the UAE when you arrive. I'm hoping to get one there although I really didn't want to wait that long. I wonder how long it'd take to get one shipped over, may do that if it's fast enough and gets here before I leave for UAE. Thanks again ladies, really appreciate it and if anyone knows where I can find one here I'd be forever indebted.

Hello all, So we just arrived in Doha (Sunday night) and I'm completely lost and overwhelmed. And like that's not enough, I just discovered that both my daughters have headlice. I can't begin to tell you how embarrassed I am to be writing this even though I read countless articles on the internet last night telling me how normal and common it is in school age children. So, it looks like I need to get hold of a metal nit comb. One that has the 'nitfree' logo like the Nitty Gritty brand one. I have looked in the pharmacies close to where I live (al Mirqab) and the one I got there is not helping at all. The teeth don't seem to be working the wonders that this other comb seems to. I'd be grateful if anyone can send me in the right direction as to where I might get hold of one of these as I feel so helpless looking at my girls as they scratch their hair and I really don't want to go down the pesticide route. Thanks in advance and help me PLEAAASSSEEEEEEE
