I am new to Barwa City. It had some amenities - good supermarket, some cafes and restaurants, good school and kindergarten, but it is lacking others - no community center (yet), no swimming pool yet, no gym, no library, no playground yet. The apartments are quite spacious but have no balcony. It feels very safe here for a family. Does this help?

Yes schools are quite expensive here!!! You mentioned that your husband will be working in the airport so I am presuming something to do with Qatar Airways or its affiliates. They opened a school for their staff this January Oryx International School http://oryxschool.qa/ Thanks Bsamra, that was really helpful. It seems like a nice school. We have been given a company apartment in Barwa City which is just across the road from Newton international School. I had a look around it today and it had a good feel to it, though it's much bigger than any school I've ever been to. Do you know anything about it?

I hear Park House is good. 2 new British schools will be opening sep. 2016 Kind's College Doha and Royal Grammar School Guildofrd- Qatar .They are currently accepting applications for admission http://www.rgs-guildford.co.uk/645/international/qatar Thanks for the advice. I have read an article on these and whilst they look very impressive I'm afraid they're out of my price range!
