I agree with below, they can not evict you, see my earlier post. I repeat go straight to RERA. I have seen all the copies of title deeds and Dubai court papers that they have provided but I would never trust them, especially if they have their own bad history. I would also stress the importance of ensuring you do not have spare keys floating about anywhere (i.e. with security/maid etc), just for your own assurance.

Hi all I always follow but never post but I'm desperate for a bit of reassurance. Our apartment was sold illegally to our old landlord and the new landlords have issued a notice saying....... Hi, I think I know which Tower you are referring to, as apparently there are a number of properties who this affects. My friends friend has found out some interesting information about this 'new landlord' ..... Who has served you this notice: http://blogs.mirror.co.uk/investigations/2009/01/dodgy-promises-from-dubai-heav.html http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b012r6v0 I don't know what's fact of what's going on, whether a scam or true but certainly you can see that you need to be careful dealing with this 'new landlord'. They aren't exactly angels. DO NOT SEND ANY PAPERWORK TO THEM. DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING WITH THEM DO NOT MEET WITH THEM AND MOST IMPORTANTLY.... DO NOT HAND OVER ANY MONEY .... Just go straight to RERA. !!!!! Their history is all over the internet. edited by Diamante on 24/04/2014 <em>edited by Diamante on 24/04/2014</em>

Note, all samsung screens are very expensive to replace. Wherever you go to get a quote you won't find it for less than 500 Dhs. It's cheaper to drop & smash an iPhone. Be warned if you are clumsy with your phone.

Last weekend I took a stroll, the security told me it will open this week. Anyone know if it has before i head out there and only see what I saw on the weekend - just two shops/cafes open. I love how it looks, beautiful! and great sand sculptures if you havent seen them already. If someone can let me know the status as of today please? Thanks.

I came in the other week on a night flight, so the longest queues ever but went right to the far end (far right) as the queues looked smaller. To my surprise they were registering passports on an electronic system and registered my passport via 'smartgate'. Apparently next time i can just scan and walk through - note I did not pay anything for this. Good job too as I didnt get chance to buy the egate as I was leaving Dubai so thought I'd do it next time. If smart gate replaces e-gate cards why bother paying for an egate card? If this is free? See link for more info: http://dnrd.ae/en/Services/Pages/Smartgate.aspx

Hi ladies, Just wanted to let you know of a really good discount I got when I ordered my new Bed. You simply go to the Mall of Emirates Facebook page, find the Home Centre advert and simply 'Like' it. You can do this in store, as they will print the 20% discount voucher for you. I saved AED 1000 simply by doing this, not to mention i then got Shukran points on my purchase too. Note, its only applicable for Home Centre in Mall of Emirates. Great discount if you're looking to buy Home furnishings. Happy shopping!!!

I believe you. Similar product by Phyto: http://www.beauty.com/phyto-phytolium-4-thinning-hair-treatment/qxp319261?catid=13006 Read the reviews all over the net of this product, part of the Phyto range. I have seen my mums friend in her 50's suddenly have much better hair, all thinning spots disappeared. I am tempted to try this and I'm only in my 30's but Dubai :( has taken away most of my hair. SO I need this solution!!!

So….. which ones are better Cloud Nine or GHD's. I've had GHD's for years, I don't think its as hot as it should be. I want to purchase a new one but don't know which one to go for…… GHD have really marketed themselves well when they first launched so its so difficult for me to go to another brand. Advice please.

I love El Sombrero (Mexican) in the Sheraton. They do all-you-can-eat and all-you-can-drink margaritas on Fridays for only 150Dhs, amazing. In the same hotel there's also an Italian place (Mama Mia? Mama something.) which I've had some excellent meals at. This sounds good. But i should have mentioned it needs to be Thursday.

I have an LG direct drive washing machine. I've had it for nearly 6 years and never had a problem. It's a 7kg capacity. Really quiet. Loads of choice in wash cycles. Clothes really are well spun that they hardly need much drying time. I've had mine for 6 1/2 years but the same story! Ladies whats the model number. The fact thats its quiet has now sold me :D

Hi. I saw one 2 days ago at Areej in front of Carrefour in mall of Emirates. Worth checking other stores like Debenhams and Harvey Nichols to see what they're offering before finally deciding which one. I didn't get chance to look anywhere else but I got a better bonus time elsewhere when I shopped around, depends what you want in your bonus time and what you would actually use. I'm running low on my eyeliner and foaming face wash so WILL be going on the hunt myself soon. Do let me know if you manage to come across anything sooner.

Oh! These?? : http://www.amazon.com/Tetley-Elaichi-Cardamom-72-Count-Bags/dp/B001XUIF3K Never even heard of them but agree with Apricot, the Rainbow milk with cardamom does give a really nice flavour. If you dont find them here I guess you could order them. :)

Dont forget to check that it has FACETIME! Yes, some may sell it cheaper to you but thats because they may not have facetime on their product. Always better to get the most out of your gadgets ;)

I laughed at this. I can honestly say I've never encountered a pink abaya readymade or otherwise (yet). Your best bet is to go to a tailor and try your luck anyway especially as it's for a little girl and will be less work. Good luck. I know :) Little girlies & their requests. I just thought maybe someone might have seen one about. I'll get one made though.

Hello, I had the same problem with mini ipad screen. Try Cell metro, they collect and deliver to your door. It cost me 595AED though. Expensive repair, but well worth seeing the smile back on my DS face. Tel 044541416 based in JLT. www.celmetro.com. Hope that helps. Wow! thats very expensive. I know pick up and drop offs that do it for 350 dhs. But I'd rather pay the 140 dhs mentioned below.

How awful! Hope everyone is ok? We were going to venture to the mall last night and decided to go somewhere closer: Marina Mall. Seems like people were seriously stuck. As for the scalding hot water, I really hope no one was scalded in this.

MY EXPERIENCE TODAY: As I mentioned below, landlord is still sending my Original Tenancy contract by courier, and agent is being arsey about getting in touch with him for a scanned copy. So I did something really naughty and faked his signature. (SORRY!) had no choice. I told the man at the counter I only have a copy and he said thats fine. :O............... :D Anyway, newly opened Municipality building at Al Manara (SZR) has the Ejari counter there, as well as the typist, the RTA, and Immigration. So I gave: My passport copy with visa page - COPY DEWA Bill - Original (because I had one in my car) Title Deed - COPY Tenancy Contract - COPY Paid 195 And it was done in less than 5 mins as I handed this over to the guy at the counter. Nice place, new, clean & systematic and fairly empty at 4.30pm today. The only thing I would say about this place is, BE WARNED, security pulled me up for my sleeveless top. I was wearing a high neck top but sleeveless (he told me I should wear a shawl or go get abaya from there - pointed in some direction). Nothing else showing except my arms and a little shoulder. I apologised and just walked out as I'd just finished Ejari anyway. Just FYI ladies.

Did you manage to do this with just photocopies? And also is the one in mazaya centre just a typing centre? You don't need to go to the Land Department - the majority of typing centres now do Ejari registration. I went to the one in the Mazaya centre - they did it whilst I waited and it only took 10 minutes. They printed out the certificate and gave it to me there and then - easy. Be aware that agents will rip you off! Some are charging 500 Dhs to do it, which is insane. Typing centres will only charge 35 Dhs. So the cost is 195 Dhs in total.

I bought some in Safestway last week - it is in different packaging to the UK, bright purple bottles, so it took me a while to spot it. But they have all the types there. OMG!! I'm too excited. Just ran out thought I'd have to get someone to bring it over for me. Going to Safestway this afternoon :-D (fingers crossed its still there!).

Hiya, Good for you - sounds like an awesome plan! For our anniversary I treated my husband and I to a booking at The Talise Ottoman Spa at Jumeirah Zabeel Saray - I could not have been happier with the experience. We had one of the hammam experiences and then a full body massage. But before and after there are jacuzzi's and huge beds in 'quiet areas' that you can just lounge around or have a doze on hehehe. The whole place was very nice and I would have happily just spent the entire day relaxing/lounging/reading/sleeping - but my hubby got bored of the 'doing nothing' once the treatments were over so we left :) http://www.jumeirah.com/Hotels-and-Resorts/Reiseziele/Dubai/Jumeirah-Zabeel-Saray/Talise-Ottoman-Spa/ Hope you have a wonderful birthday! Thank you for the birthday wishes. This sounds good. How much was it. There are no prices on your link. <em>edited by Diamante on 06/10/2012</em>
