Hello Diamante, i wonder if u can help me in a question of mine regarding JLT am currently moving to gold crest executive and i have no designated parking. i heard DCC will close like 75% of the free parking so do u happen to know how much will ti cost me to apply for a parking spot and how and when should i do that?? thanks for ur support and waiting for ur reply :) I don't think the arrangements have been finalised yet? Have you checked with your landlord about a designated spot? EVery apartment should have at least one, outside the Tower, either concourse level or the underground parking.

SM that reminds me of when I was in grade 6 and someone said 'when you pop off small tiny pieces of poo are in it and if you breath someone elses pop off then their poo is in your nose - f you breath it in then you can imagine!' (As the boys were in their farting to be cool stage, and I did NOT find it cool after hearing that fun fact! OMG! :D You made me laugh so much..... !!! Thanks.:D

Should you be publicizing the new road, or maybe just keep hush as people will eventually find it and then we will have jams through that route as well ! :) Best situation was when the roundabout in from of Reef was open, now with each change, it gets worse and worse. I know, I did wonder whether i should but hey....eventually everyone will find out. Lol. I agree the existing roundabout was much better and tbh there should be 2 exits for SZR from JLT.

I was aiming to get to Cluster D tonight and so I tried the new road instead.... Instead of following the interchange for JLT, follow Emirates Hills and keep in your right lane, ****bear right (I vaguely remember a small sign saying Jumierah Lake Towers) you will enter the new VERY EMPTY and SPEED BUMP FREE (for now) road.....keep going straight, you can bear right before the bridge to get to the new roundabout in JLT or keep on going straight up onto the bridge....this will bring you back down to just before Almas Tower turning. I whizzed across the back of JLT in no time, in fact I honestly thought I wasn't supposed to be using this road as I was the only one on here, then within a few minutes i saw just one :) car in my rear view mirror in the distance behind me. Loving this short cut!! :D *** Be very careful bearing right as you have to cut across 2 lanes on your right. Love RTA for their smart thinking (NOT!). <em>edited by Diamante on 01/02/2012</em>

Dear JLT Community members, DMCC is pleased to inform you that the RTA has confirmed that part of the Western Parallel Road will open on Saturday, 28 January 2012. The Western Parallel Road reaches JLT from Al Barsha through Emirates Hills and is located between the Enterprise Zone 1 (the Gold refineries plots) and the Meadows and connects into the JLT roads network in front of Cluster H, via new bridge as well as via the exit coming round the Enterprise Zone 1 plots. A temporary roundabout will be re-established in place of the current long U-turn leading to the Dubai-bound Sheikh Zayed Road exit. This roundabout will ensure that you can use the new Western Parallel Road as an additional entrance/exit to and from JLT by providing access to SZR through Interchange 5 and areas such as Al Barsha more directly.

DMCC works on Western Parallel back road Dear JLT Community, We are pleased to inform you that we are nearing completion of the road works on the back road of JLT leading to Ibn Battuta Mall and to the southern exit to Sheikh Zayed Road. The final asphalting of the road between Clusters G and K will be carried out over two full days from Friday, 20 January 2012 at 2am until Sunday, 22 January at 6am - without a break. This will require a diversion of traffic from the District Cooling plant leading under the bridge and past the three Mazaya Business Avenue Towers. The rest of the road (i.e. beyond Cluster K) will be completed before the end of the first quarter of 2012 and we will keep you informed of when the works will take place. Johnsons Baby oil I recently was bought Bobbi Browns Gel eyeliner. Love it! Until i tried taking it off with my favourite 'simple' eye make up remover (usually stock up on this from the UK). I just found after 10 minutes of rubbing my eyes till I looked like a panda; all it did was shift the eyeliner around my face. :( Then of course I googled for the solution and it was recvommended to use Baby oil. PERFECT!! So what I do know is, if I use the gel eyeliner, i get a cotton bud rather than a cotton pad and drop some baby oil on it and simply line it and wipe across where I put the eyeliner, then i use my cotton pad to take offthe rest of my eye make up eyeshadow/mascara with my 'simple' eye make up remover. Although after reading this thread I am tempted to try the johnsons baby wash too :) I can't bring myself to spending too much money on eye make up remover........................................but I can on a YSL lipstick!! :D WOW! I'm having IPL laser hair removal done at a salon that I am comfortable and confident with, so I'm very sceptical about trying another for this kind of treatment. However, Ive seen an offer on Cobone for laser hair removal for lower legs @ AED 359 which my current salon would not be able to match the price for, its tempting, I could just do with one or two sessions just to make the hair much finer at least if not scarce. :D Can someone tell me whether this place is any good for such treatment, please: International Aesthetic Medical Centre http://www.iamc.ae Appreciate a quick response as I don't want to miss out on the deal.

YAY!! Yipppeeee!!! I found the wax they use at my Salon (Rica Banana Wax for sensitive skin) and all the accessories that go with it at Nazih Trading, Abu Dhabi. Well, I just bought the cartridge full of the wax and the cartridge heater. So chuffed. I cant wait to get home and do my own waxing. No more wasting money and driving to appointments. Also, if you get a speeding ticket on Shk Zayed road, do you also think you should you be let off because lot's of other people do it everyday and maybe your newborn is crying and you want to get home to tend to them? Sorry to sound harsh, but it annoys me when people park in disabled bays - a baby is not a disability! :\: Ooh! you really are a cheeky monkey aren't you? :) Fair point though - just don't park there.

One is the type for a little girl, you open the box and its a ballerina and is musical. Its quite common in jewellery shops in the UK but I'm struggling to find any here, anyone seen any. Another is a silver one, with a velvet lining inside, to keep those special pieces of jewellery.......I then want to get it engraved somewhere, (not sure who does that here). Hope someone here can advise. Thanks in advance.

Update on parking in JLT: The DMCC parking will be split into 3 main sections, one section for each tower who has purchased spaces from DMCC. These will be allocated to residential/office/retail units who have purchased parking from the sub-developer and those parking bay owners will receive an access card to allow them to use the new DMCC barriers. There will be visitor/paid parking on the top level at the rear of the clusters only. There may be some exceptions to this but in general thats the plan. Your OAs/Sub-developers will have received maps of the parking allocations from DMCC and should be in the process of allocating parking bays per unit, if not already done. Once this is done, and the barriers are ready for service, the access cards will be dished out.

I think it would be nice to get all together so at least we look more powerful. We rented through an agent and he's basically refusing to give us the contact information of our landlord, which I find it very strange. I would also like to make a formal complaint, break the lease and leave the building. Don't fall for this agents trick! You can easily find out. Who is basically going to try and rip you off and make more money out of you if you want to renew. Btw, I asked our Facilities Management Team for the owners contact details when I wanted to rent a bigger apartment in the building, they easily gave it me :)
