Thanks for the heads up Shaks, only saw this product the other day at Geant and wondered how good it would be. Shaks, have you tried any other in comparison to the mousse one. Which one would you prefer? Would any of you ladies who regularly use home dye say you get the same kind of result as in a salon. I've noticed a few whites past couple of months and more noticeable areas, I am definitely ready to start covering up now as moving my parting isn't helping anymore. :( Can anyone recommend, home dye! I know it costs a lot more at a salon.

I second that! I went last week for the first time. Loved it. There are entertainer vouchers for them too. But I think its a dine in option for their vouchers. Even still nice to sit in. :) Then theres always 'Cafe Nero' Ground floor of Almas Tower, just behind (Cluster D) or 'Coffee Planet' on 48th Floor of Almas Tower. Great views.....but only if the windows are clean :D

Seen some shops around Karama that sell these. You could try 'Perpopolis' (Big Souverneir/gift shop), right in the heart of Karama.

So where will visitors to D park in entry to the Concourse level (regarded as a de facto visitors car park) is restricted with access cards? The temporary solution has made things worse and i thank God everyday i dont live on the front side of JLT! As for Carrefour, who would have thought you would have 3 Carrefours within 1.5 km of each other ! I'm assuming nearer the shops, a bit like in Cluster E, near Park n Shop where you can park for a short while. But I am just assuming. And if that is the case, then its definitely not enough. The amount of residents we have in 3 towers for 1 cluster, how many visitors do you think we could possibly have. None if this will be the case.....where will they be expected to park if they're full. Its not like there are any side streets like in JBR. :\: edited by Diamante on 10/10/2011

Exit to Sheikh Zayed Road in JLT - Update "Dear JLT Community, As you are aware the temporary RTA solution for the access from JLT to Sheikh Zayed Road was implemented on Monday, 12 September. DMCC has recently been informed by the RTA that their intention is to open up part of the Western Parallel Road coming from Emirates Hills towards the end of October and simultaneously create a roundabout where the newly created U-turn currently exists. We remain extremely hopeful that this will help further alleviate much of the traffic conditions that the development is currently experiencing by providing an additional entry and exit point into JLT from Interchange 5. DMCCA has your comfort and ease of travel in mind and continues to work with the RTA to create the best transportation solutions for the JLT community. Kind regards, The JLT Community Team"

Entry barriers (access card type barriers) are being installed on the concourse level car park of Cluster D today. So are CCTV cameras :\: (With love from Concordia) On another note, I believe yet another Carrefour is open for business. It is situated at the beginning of the JLT entrance. edited by Diamante on 05/10/2011

I had my bikini line done 11 years ago. It's still fine. Maybe a couple of little strays here or there. I costed it at the time to be about 18 months worth of waxing before I "broke even". Waxing for me was terrible - I would end up in big purple welts that would take 3 weeks' to fade and then I'd be due for a wax again. 11 years' on it has paid for itself and more because of the spontaneity it's given me and the time it's saved me. Wow! So - its worth it then? :)

Its not 100 dhs :D but my visitors swear it is as comfortable as a bed: http://www.ikea.com/ae/en/catalog/products/S29874379/ I have had 3 different visitors, and each one of them has made comments about who comfy it is and i only went for the standard mattress rather than the upgrade versions. ;) So imagine that! edited by Diamante on 04/10/2011

Short sharp bursts of what can only be best described as a snapping of a rubber band. It’s a lot less uncomfortable than waxing and I've been told that it’s much less painful than electrolysis (never had that done myself). I haven't screamed or shouted "Ouch" yet, so its bearable :-) The lady at 'La Contour' is so quick and precise with each shot, it's over before you know it. edited by Diamante on 04/10/2011

In the week I was up all night with toothache, I sat on my balcony and watched a fella working thru the night and was still working at 10am, I put a large bottle of water in the freezer to get it really nice and cold, handed it to him along with a 100dhs, you should of seen his face, he was speechless. Come on it's not that hard to give a helping hand to the less fortunate. edited by salsB on 03/10/2011 Isn't it just a good feeling to know you've made someone feel like that. Goods on ya salsb! ;)

I have done 4 sessions of IPL for my underarms, and I can say it was worth every penny (sorry Dirham) :) I have no more dark thick black hair (yuk!), except now just a few 'baby hairs' which will surely enough disappear with the remaining sessions. I was told I could shave in between sessions if I wanted but to be honest the hairs left are that faint, you can hardly tell they're there. I've still managed to get away with wearing sleeveless tops. I recommend this treatment to every woman who wants to remove any unwanted hair. I swear, it is by far the best money I have spent. :D Anyway, its now convinced me to go for Bikini and I remember a friend of a friend telling me its the best thing they ever did, which is what I feel about my underams. I just want to know if anyone has done this for their Bikini and how successful it was. Will I see quick enough results like I did for my underarms? edited by Diamante on 03/10/2011

Dear JLT Community, We would like to thank our community members for their feedback regarding the lakes in JLT and take this opportunity to update you all on the latest measures to improve their appearance while working on completing them. As you have probably observed, DMCC and Concordia are managing a comprehensive treatment programme for the improvement of the lakes in JLT. We are pleased to advise that the treatment course for Lake A, which has been completed over the last month, has led to marked improvement in water quality and appearance. The other lakes in JLT are next in line to receive similar treatment to control algal growth and improve the aesthetics and quality of the water. We have devised a series of measures based on the results in Lake A and have commenced treatment on both Lakes B and C. This will be followed immediately by Lake D and a re-treatment of Lake A. Ahead of the water treatment which is being carried out from boats on the affected lakes, DMCC and Concordia have cleaning personnel manually removing as much algae as possible. In addition to the water treatment work, we are also working on balancing water levels between the lakes to allow for the treatment to have the best possible effect. Independent water testing laboratories are assisting us at the same time with the monitoring of the results. These are interim control measures as the lakes remain under construction. The final lakes design will not be dependent on further routine intervention through the use of water quality treatments, relying instead on water being changed over every 10-14 days with fresh gulf water. We appreciate your patience and understanding while these important measures are ongoing. Kind regards,

Oh no! You must get it - its saved so much money for me too. I've done exactly what 'TheMrs' :) has done (ha! ha!). :) And another tip when you do get it, is to bookmark the website: Saynoto0870, which will give you the alternative landline numbers to all them peak rate numbers we have to call 0845/6/7 . They then fall under normal landline numbers rather than peak rate numbers. :D edited by Diamante on 12/09/2011

I have very fine long hair and GHD were the only ones that i could actually use that straightened my hair easily.. and didnt leave static . My hairdressers uses cloud nines and she literally has to run them over my hair once and it is bone straight. I have used babyliss tony and guy ones GHD's ( Darling neice will inherit these and how happy she will be) My Cloud Nines are wider plates with temp control and using them this morning took me 5 minutes instead of 15 with my GHD's. Hope this helps Oh! I have long hair, hence why I use the wide GHD's. Which hairdressers is it that uses Cloud nine, I might pay a visit to try it. :D edited by Diamante on 04/08/2011

Just wanted to share my experience. I went to dnata on sheikh zayed road this morning to get my egate card. there were 2 people in line. Got to me within 5 minutes. I gave the lady my passport and she gave me a paper for payment. I went to the cashier seated in the same room as them and paid AED 220. Afterwards, I went back to her and got my passport and the egate card back. Took less than 15 minutes! I'm stunned! :) Bye, bye, waiting in long queues at the airport :) Is that a NEW (seperate) e-gate card or did you just put the e-gate access as an option on your emirates ID card; heard its a lil cheaper that way, and so much easier as you don't then have to carry 2 cards.

"Dear JLT Community members, In reference to DMCC’s circular issued in November 2010’s regarding the undertaking of the works on the JLT Embankment road (the road leading to Ibn Battuta Mall) (see attached), we would like to bring to your attention the major diversion which will be in place within the next two days. We would like to advise you that the routing of the road will change and the existing roundabout will be relocated so kindly drive with caution and follow the signage that will be deployed to ensure the safety of all drivers. This diversion is expected to remain until all works are completed in the area which is targeted for early November 2011. DMCC recommends printing the attached map showing the diversion and posting it on your respective Tower’s Notice Boards and lifts for all the JLT residents to be forewarned accordingly. Should you have any queries just let us know. Kind regards, JLT Community Team" link to map, as its too large to post here http://img651.imageshack.us/img651/2...rsionstage.jpg
