Ok so, new gym opening in Almas Tower in the next few days, visit them for a tour of the facilities they offer. http://fidelityfitnessclub.com/ I have to say I'm impressed with their machines, usb/ipod compatible, watch your own tv channel.... Although feedback on their webpage on facebook, has tarnished their reputation slightly. I'm thinking of becoming a member, since they are offering classes like Zumba, Body Combat, Body Pump.... and its within walking distance of home. edited by Diamante on 13/06/2011

Hey there, i saw them just yesterday in Lulu's Al Barsha. They definitely do them! I did pick one up but didnt buy as we enjoy freshly brewed espresso at home grinding coffee every morning :) I think this might be the place as I have been there recently.

I really need one, I am constantly on Skype calls and I need to walk around the room :D so preferably would prefer a wireless headset. Can anyone recommend a really good one; it has to be compatible with Mac.

I'm glad I started this thread. Good to see mixed reviews and not all the offers are that bad after all. Would really like us to continue updating on this thread, to share our experiences; we don't have to mention company names if they're awful, just the offer ;) Totally agree with Mishmash: [i'>[b'>'And while we are at it and I am sure sooner or later one of the Deal organizer companies would be reading this thread.A message: Please do a background check on the merchants you promote.Your business relies on promoting good products and services and if you fail to do that then you'd be out of business as well'[/b'>[/i'> edited by Diamante on 09/06/2011

where did you go? A salon in JLT, thought if I found a new place close to where I live, I'd have a backup place to go to if my usual place is booked up.

I wouldn't buy a voucher for a place I didn't already know to be good, or which hadn't been recommended to me by someone I trust. Which means you don't try out new places for yourself (salon/restaurant....)? edited by Diamante on 08/06/2011

We just got stopped by these two guys at Spinneys Town Centre in the Springs. Same story - they want to give away surplus stock in exchange for an iPhone from the shop. Hubby said he didn't have the money and they suggested following us home so we could get the money and then go to the store!!!! They are driving a white Toyota Rav 4 with Abu Dhabi plates: 28155. Did you report them to the police?

Rock and Sole gets really bad reviews! Any others? ....and now I know why!. Eaawwww!! Thank god I didn't pay full price (cobone vouchers) for my greasy chips and smelly hammour.....YUK! The empty restaurant (on a Thurs night too) was a dead giveaway to begin with but I thought I would give it the beneft of the doubt, plus I needed to use my voucher. I WONT be going back there.

I'm one of them.....falls asleep on sofa then like a zombie makes her way to bed. If I washed my face I'd surely be wide awake. Lol. Bare minerals.............. 'The best thing since sliced bread' :D I swear!! I have converted so many family and friends and they're all long term users of it now. So natural and so flawless. The bare minerals lasts me just over 6 months before I have to buy again. Used Mac for prob near enough 8 yrs or so. Did cringe everytime I practically painted my face with mac foundation and you can always see it wear off during the day, especially when it gets hot. With bare minerals you don't get that. I will never part with Bare minerals/escentuals now, been using it for 2 yrs now and hubby things it awesome for my skin. He loves the fact I don't looked caked like some other women. He always tell me my skin looks so great and it has been since converting to this. Also no need to 'paint my face' anymore, I just 'swirl, tap and buff' ;) I'm one of the naughty ones that doesn't wash her face at night (well I rarely do) :) and this is perfect for me. Even though I sleep in it, I have no problems with my skin. Try a makeover at Sephora someday. edited by Diamante on 02/06/2011

I don't think they serve alcohol at all, but I like Tche Tche, on plaza level above Movenpick Hotel, JBR: http://www.tchetchecafe.com/ Nice shisha, nice food, nice atmosphere (indoors & outdoors). But no alcohol, well, I don't think. I don't drink so don't know for sure. They'll be one opening up soon in Downtown, not far from Burj Khalifa, .

Pls dont use their foundation.....too cakey and yes, always different shades. I used it for years and found it was this that caused the odd spot and blemishes. They are great for eyeshadows though ;)

i recently went to this salon called Mira something in Karama (opp Burjuman)... they charged me 100dhs for full arms, full legs and underarm waxing... i wouldn't call it pain free but it was definitely less painful than the normal sugar wax... i don't know the name of the product they used but i could see it was a white tin that had a banana print on the outside... i think it's some sort of fruit wax coz even the colour was a pale yellow (as opposed to the bright caramel colour of normal wax)... ******* THIS IS BY FAR, THE BEST WAX (RICA) ********* http://www.skininc.com/products/body/hairremoval/90088292.html This wax you're talking about is a fruit wax it is LESS painful - not quite pain free. It is HONESTLY the best wax I've tried. No red bumps, no ingrowns (that also depends on the lady who is waxing and how she waxes). My favourite lady has over 25 yrs experience of waxing. She takes the wax off like she's taking chewing gum off your skin, practically peeling it off but at the same time quick, so you don't really feel much. If I'm feeling adventurous to try another salon I always ask if they use this wax, if they don't, then I don't bother with them. But generally I always go to this lady as I know I don't have to worry about feeling any pain or her missing any little bits. The banana wax and the milk one is for sensitive skin and i use either. The best wax ever, in my opinion!! Every EW should try it once ;) This link will explain why its less painful (4th product down): http://www.nwstylist.com/whats_new/2010/0210/0210_ca_whats_new.html edited by Diamante on 30/05/2011

I THINK its the first Pharmacy thats just opened in JLT. It's called 'Supercare Pharmacy', located at ground floor level of Al Shera Tower (Cluster E). Just roudn the corner from 'Park n Shop'. Opening times are: 8.00 am - 10.30 pm every day. Although I think they need to be open till later than 10.30pm. You always need medicine after hours :) edited by Diamante on 22/05/2011 edited by Diamante on 22/05/2011

i have a steam mop - i bought one for my mum originally but so good i bought one myself too - took my housemaid a little while to get the hang of using something different but it's great - no buying floor cleaner or mop heads - kills 98% of bacteria, etc. and only uses water. Can buy in Carrefour, Sharaf DG, etc. Well recommend it edited by happyindubai on 18/05/2011 Whats the brand? and do you plug it in? I hear so much about steam mops; which ones the best one? The Towers are made up of 'Clusters' of 3 Towers (left tower, middle tower, right tower). Each cluster are identified as letters 'A', 'B' and so on...... On the outer of the car park, the Cluster name eg, C, D, E, will be shown as a BIG black letter on a white banner. For example....Cluster 'D' is the set of 3 Towers right outside JLT metro station (not to be confused with the Marina metro station). Cluster D for defnite has recycling facilities and its situated inside but at the exit of the underground car park. See Page 9 of the link below for more info on the recycling facilities, other clusters seem to have the same: http://jlt.ae/jlt/jlt_launch/pdfs/JLT_Issue_3.pdf edited to attach link of map, this will explain it better: see map: http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?p=13221577 edited by Diamante on 18/05/2011

I bring a load back with me from the UK, a multi colour pack (of 20 colours or so) for 1 pound, and they're big sheets too. In fact I purchase various birthday cards from there too :D It's so dear here for the 2 or 3 (small) sheets you get. I'm not tight :D......I just want to get my moneys worth ;).
