Interesting reading! I've actually lived in Dubai since 1997 and have recently left due to the cost of living. I totally LOVE the UAE and my time in Middle East has been the most amazing time ever…i Its true what I've heard from many who have left…"there is life after Dubai" and I'm only starting to realise it now. So true about there being life after Dubai. We left Dubai a few years ago and I was extremely sad at the time, thinking that I will never get over my expat life! Must admit that it took some adjusting at first but hey life has moved on for the better and we get our dose of Dubai every few years holidaying there :)

Hi Pinkypie. You are right-the intensive course is very hectic and hands-on. If you have small kids, or a job, or basically other commitments, it might be draining to get through the 4 weeks. You pretty much need to dedicate that time to just doing the course and plan to put in extra hours after class everyday. Both the part-time and full-time have the same worth and once you get your certificate, it does not mention whether you did it FT or PT. I cant't give you any input on Zayed University but it should be standard across the board. Cambridge has very strict standards and the assessors move around to all providers to ensure consistency. My best advice would be to do the full time course if you have no other commitments. it's a great course. All the best!

direct2dubai replied : Hi gcommumtobe. we both have the same due date....i'm expecting a girl and also my first pregnancy. I'm in Australia and will be delivering here. Don't think I would've managed the Dubai heat while pregnant. Hi direct2dubai, we'll have to compare notes when you get back! How soon after the birth are you planning to return? :) DH is on project in Aus so will be here for a while. We can def keep in touch. I'm starting maternity leave in 2 weeks - cant wait as I'm feeling more tired. edited by direct2dubai on 09/07/2011

How is everyone feeling about labour? Is anyone else absolutely freaking out about the thought of pushing a baby out? I havent quite come to peace with the whole process and am terrified of it all ...........:\::\: I think most of us first timers will be anxious about the birth. It's hard not to think about it. DH and I have completed 4 antenatal classes and we have 1 more this Sat. We'll also get a tour of the birthing rooms. The antenatal classes were useful & interactive, especially for DH who has never changed a babies nappy! It also covers topics of breastfeeding, labour & birth (water breaking, the role of a support person, pain relief, birthing positions), baby blues (postnatal depression). Got the stroller, now looking at car seats...

Ladies, how are you all coming along with the baby shopping. We are buying the stroller and car seat this week end. Got cot and change table as gifts. Starting to think about what needs to go into the hospital bag....

You can have one made for around AED 100 to AED 200 in Satwa or Bur Dubai. Satwa on the main road where all the car accessory shops are.

I can totally empathize with you after having morning sickness from week 7 to week 16 (I'm now 28 weeks). the thought of it still gives me the creeps but hang in there. It may seem never ending but it will. Crackers, ginger etc didn't work for me. In fact nothing seemed to ease it. I use to eat sour worms, or jelly sweets just to get rid of the bad taste after throwing up. Every1 told me by week 12 it should go away but just continued.....until week 16. Once it's over, you'll find a new found burst of energy....

Hi all. Due date is the tail end of Aug and may end up delivering in early Sept. Expecting our first and found out it's going to be a little girl :) Been having severe sciatica/ sacriolic pain since week 15 and have been going for physio to help cope, but nothing much can be done. Hopefully delivery will be the cure! Anyone else having similar pain, or maybe just severe back pain? Also are you able to sleep well at night?
