I would buy organic skin care products for baby, especially Weleda products are much more expensive in Dubai .If you choose cloth diapering buy them from UK, even if you will wear disposables it is good to give baby skin a break from them. Personally i would skip moses basket as Dangerous Blonde said you can use pram bassinet for sleeping or else you might sleep with your baby in the same bed. :) What is more don't buy much clothes size 0-3, baby will grow out from them so quickly. For traveling you might need Moby Wrap or Ergo carrier with newborn insert, don't go for BabyBjorn ( it is not suitable for babies at any age). Emirates will take stroller free of charge. HTH :)

Mmmmmm you must be exhausted. A Friend of mine has also a "not putting away" baby, I want to give you some advice regarding baby carriers. 1. DO NOT USE Baby Bjorn( unless you have ergonomic version of this carrier) or anything looks similar to this brand: [url=http://fotoforum.gazeta.pl/zdjecie/2899661,2,8,wisiadlo-i-nosidlo.html'>look at this picture and see the diference[/url'> 2.Never carry your baby facing the world, [url=http://www.bobafamily.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/frontfacinghollowback.jpg'>like on this picture[/url'> [i'>Not facing the carrying adult, and facing out their center of gravity is off. Pressure is placed on the baby’s shoulders and the chest area, often retracting the shoulders and hollowing the back even more. Facing out is a nonphysiological position that places pressure on the inner thighs of the baby and the base of the spine. Upright carrying facing out is stressful on babies.[/i'> If your baby want to see the world it is mean that is strong enought to be carried on the back [url=http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_EdDV31w0iMk/TLuAyoJromI/AAAAAAAAADk/mixGNBlTFeo/s1600/ergo+back.jpg'>the way this handsome daddy ;)[/url'> In my opinion you could try baby ergo carrier with newborn insert. The other option is baby sling/ wrap, if your LO is not heavy you can buy Moby Wrap, which is elastic and quite easy to wear. Else you can get woven wrap but you will have to get help to learn how to wear properly. Things will get easier as your Little one will grow,And if you have chance give baby for your husband and take relaxing bath :) edited by evelyn2000 on 12/02/2013 <em>edited by evelyn2000 on 12/02/2013</em>

as far as I know they use only technical English in work, the company is located in Poland and they don't use English on everyday basis but the need to know basic. What I need it is just to look at the grammar and if words are appropriate.I tried to fix her translation but I know it could be done on higher standard <em>edited by evelyn2000 on 31/01/2013</em>

I haven't ever tried CIO so can't comment on that but here are some non CIO techniques should you need them http://www.parentingscience.com/infant-sleep-training.html. What you are doing now sounds like a technique called "the kissing game" basically you promise a kiss leave for a few seconds, return with the kiss, leave for a bit longer, return for another kiss and so on, until they fall asleep. The key to any techniques success is consistency, and as SG says, you know your own self and your own child better than others. Evelyn you might like to have a look at the site I linked to, and I am happy to send you a PDF of "the no cry sleep solution" which is a very useful book for those who choose not to sleep train. I would love to have a look for the "no cry sleep solution", thank you kiwispiers :D .My <em>edited by evelyn2000 on 23/01/2013</em>

What about not to swaddle her at all? and see what she will do maybe get tired and sleep ;) . Regarding the ring sling there is some links with instructions: http://www.slingbabies.co.nz/Site/In...dle_Carry.ashx http://site.peppermint.com/instructions/kangaroocare_ringsling.pdf http://zolowear.com/WearingTroubleshooting.aspx http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O6U4xI_yZZE I have never seen that sb swaddle baby in the sling. I don't think so as sling by it self should be tight around baby. Ach from my experience it take time to learn how to wear sling, I don't know which type you order but if its woven try to wash it with little bit fabric softener and iron. For us at the beginning it was hard to tighten it but now we got little more practice and its ok, also i used to put our sling on the sofa and sit on it to make it softer :D. Good luck . hopefully you will get some sleep soon.

Mine baby is 2,5 months old. Some days he will sleep all day long with wake up for feeding, some days will stay awake most of the day and wants to hold him carry. And same thing i offer breast and he is getting nervous as he is not hungry and want other "entertainment".I have sling while i put him in and go for walk he fall asleep after few minutes.I would recommend you maybe Moby Wrap, as i heard is easier to wear than woven sling( I have woven and took while to learn how to tighten it properly). I heard also that there is thing which might work like :white noises, or try to remove some part of clothes like socks or cap,try not to swaddle maybe... .In my opinion its growing sprut and soon everything should settle soon. Also me i dream to sleep for longer than few hours :). Wishing all best. edited by evelyn2000 on 19/01/2013 <em>edited by evelyn2000 on 19/01/2013</em>

as usual my MIL has just delivered a new missive. she rang me up yesterday and said she has read somewhere that making babies (boys) wear diapers make them impotent.t [b'>you have so stop making him wear diapers[/b'>. i use pj's and cloth diapers during day and put pampers at night. also if you are going out you have to put diapers. being a science student myself i knew that sperm production does not start until puberty. i searched online but has not found anything concrete. there is no latest news or research in this category. as usual she has troubled me again :( i apologize if anyone is offended by this post. So what to wear? ;) :):)

I think [i'>angel joy[/i'> the temperature inside can reach even 50C ( in wet nappy) plus all chemicals they are using to manufacture...So imagine that you are overheating your baby boy lest say for 2,5 - 3 years... edited by evelyn2000 on 16/01/2013 [b'>50 degrees, really?[/b'> I love the idea of cloth nappies, and they are more environmentally friendly, but disposables are certainly more comfortable, and don't result in nasty nappy rash like the old school cloth nappies we wore as kids. I guess in theory, overheating as an infant could affect fertility (like in the case of undescended testes) but I've never noticed nappies getting warm, you have me curious now. I read somewhere that 50C or i remember wrong [img'>http://www.pic4ever.com/images/297.gif[/img'>, what I know that is higher, maybe not 50....Also depends how long baby spend in dirty nappy, cos if its changed just after i think there no time to get overheated. I notice that my baby get warmer in pampers type comparing vs cloth, sometimes while he has to stay longer while driving and there is not possible to change him. We are using cloth diapers at home and we don't have any rush problems. Also now you can get really comfortable cloth diapers which are not much bigger than disposables. And in my opinion you have to change baby anyhow whatever you use so why produce full bag of rubbish? But every mum has own system.:)

I don't wake up my baby sometimes he sleeping 2-3 hours. We don't have much routine, he is 2 months and one week, feeding every 1 hour sometimes 45-30 mins unless sleeping. The only good thing he is sleeping during night with 2-3 feeds until around 7 am.We are coosleeping so its fine i don't need to get up only to change his nappy . Before i tried to wake him up during the day but it was silly idea as he get moody later so i left him as he is. Babies are clever they follow instinct.,

I tried to wrap him in the cradle position but he was getting fussy so we change for pocket cross carry which my baby was happy but stil I am not to sure as he is just 2 months if its good for his back.

I have read somewhere buy i can't find it again, that there is no clear evidence that medicine for colic's really works. What is more that giving baby medicine, grape water, water etc, formula will make it worst and the best solution is breast milk.If i were on your place i will try to cut down formula and give BM and also wouldn't give baby water. But this is my personal opinion and i think best if you see a doctor. Good Luck for you hopefully everything will settle down soon. Try to search for Tummy Tub i heard it is good for colic's as baby relax in water. <em>edited by evelyn2000 on 03/01/2013</em>

"Why is my baby so different? She is not like any of my friends' babies. They sleep through the night. They're happy being held by anyone. My friends don't seem as tired as I am. What am I doing wrong?" Sound familiar? Your baby acts the way she does because that's the way she is. Your baby acts the way she does, not because of your parenting, but because of her personality. "In the early weeks after birth you get a glimpse of who this little person really is. Even while pregnant you may have gotten a hint of the challenge to come. High need infants tend to be full-time tummy-thumpers and bladder- kickers, as if telling the world even before they're born that they need more space. In some ways all babies are high need babies, and most babies have high needs in at least one area of their life. Some have more high need areas than others. The neediness of the baby is often in the mind of the parent. Some experienced parents of children have widened their expectations of what babies are "normally" like, and they adapt more easily to a baby with high needs; new parents often are not so realistic. After Hayden introduced us to high-need babies, we learned a whole new way to parent. The babies that followed her each had their own particular high needs. We were able to recognize and respond to them because of our experience with her. None of them were as thoroughly "high need" as Hayden, but they came close. In retrospect, we realized that the babies who came before Hayden had high needs, too, in some areas. We had met those needs as best we could, knowing what we knew then. The difference between those babies and Hayden was not only a difference in need levels; Hayden also had the forceful personality to let us know just what she needed. (Factored into this whole spectrum of parenting is that we were young and full of energy with the first ones. Hayden was born eleven years after Jim. We had less energy, perhaps, but more experience.) We have met many high need babies over the years. Based on this "gallery" we have compiled the following profile of high need babies. All babies will show some of these features some of the time, and these features are descriptive only. As you will see, each of these personality traits has its blessings and its trials. These personality traits should not be judged as "good" or "bad." They are just differences between babies, but these differences do make high need babies challenging to parent. Ultimately, what matters is how the child learns to use these special gifts. Our goal is to help parents identify these unique features in their infant and child and channel these traits to work to the child's advantage." continued here :[url=http://www.askdrsears.com/topics/fussy-baby/high-need-baby/12-features-high-need-baby'>link[/url'>

A very good post. Although some women must know that stress, eating and fluids does come into play when producing. And some need to realize that yes there are women that can't produce or produce very little. I'm one of those. My first I tried and because DS1 was a preemie he wouldn't have enough strength to feed and pumping only worked for a few weeks. DS2 was a preemie and had reflux and no luck feeding unless it was a bottle. Soon DS3 will arrive and I'm not going to worry about which route I need to go. I had a consultant, I took supplements to help, tried the Guinness and no luck. Yes try your best to feed if you can but if you can't you shouldn't feel like you're going to be judged. Totally agree with you.Everyone is different and thanks God we are living in modern times where we can get high quality formula feed and good bottles.Sometimes we need to help Mother Nature to stay alive. The most important in my opinion is the knowledge which can help us make right decision for us and our babies.

First congratulations for breastfeeding your baby :) despite all what happen. [i'> However i have noticed that i can hear my son gulping down and that he drinks quite quickly and will some times beat me on my breast and i'm not sure why?[/i'> Mine ( 2 month old) doing exactly the same, especially afternoons.Sometimes when he getting very moody on breast i put him back or give to carry to my husband.I think the same what your midwife said.I took it as normal behavior for my baby, he is a human so has right for his moods.Sometimes he also chew his hands, but your baby maybe is teething, i dont know. [i'>Also i feed DS at 12 and he gets up at 3am and 6am for a feed, is this normal?. [/i'> I beat it is normal for 4 month even books says baby feed every 2, 3 or 4 hours.every baby is different, [i'> I keep hearing from my mother and MIL that the reason for this is because i don't have enough milk for him, which is making me consider giving him formula[/i'> blah blah i wouldn't listen her at all, i hear the same from some ppl.If your baby putting weight normally i wouldn't bother. We've had similar problem. I did a lot of investigation and mediocre insurance schemes which didn't cover for a lot were coming in at anything from AED2k a month up. A full BUPA type scheme was costing from AED4k a month for our family (we're older parents). I know everyone says that you have to have adequate insurance but we just don't have that type of cash in our budget - every dirham is accounted for until I find work. I had to see a GP this week and it was AED500 for a consultation. She recommended further investigation but I fear the costs could run into lots. It's a situation that worries me. I believe that in case of an accident etc one is taken to Rashid but would then be billed there although not as high costs as at some other hospitals. I still haven't managed to get a clear picture. Why don't you go to the Iranian Hospital?Visit is around 100 aed, its busy there but doctors are good. <em>edited by evelyn2000 on 26/12/2012</em>

Instead of starting a young and particularly acne prone skin to all kinds of chemicals, why not try pure Shea Butter, its documented as being beneficial to acne and will hydrate any skin naturally as well as having a wealth of other benefits. Must be raw live organic and unprocessed, do not use commercial creams that contain processed shea butter as these have other ingredients like synthetic fragrances (such as L'Occitaine) that will aggravate acne. I agree with Di@DXB try sth organic. We don't know what is a result of exposing our skin(esspecially young skin) for all parabens, fragrances and other nasty chemicals which are claimed to be "safe".Help your daughter to make right choice.[url=http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.php'>[img'>http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-basic/happyyes.gif[/img'>[/url'>

DD was feeding and continues to feed for more than 2 hours if I breastfeed her and will wake up hungry within 1 hour, "In the early days, hunger is driven partly by a hormone called CCK - the same hormone that induces relaxation and sleep. After a feed baby has a high level of CCK, which tells him he’s full, but it drops again after another 10 or 20 minutes, so he thinks he’s hungry again. He may go through this loop several times, in what’s known as “cluster feeding,” before dropping into a solid, longer sleep."

Dear B , did you manage to contact a doctor? ( I know its very difficult here in Dubai to get by the phone to the doctor.) There is La Leche Leauge in Abu Dhabi this is a website https://www.llli.org/uae.html. The ladies there are very helpful and expert on BF so maybe they can answer your question. I wish you get answer for your question quickly, and Inshallah you will continue BF your baby. There is also some users on the forum they seems to have very wide knowledge about babies and bf, maybe they will also help with answer. <em>edited by evelyn2000 on 16/12/2012</em>
