Looks like nonsense to be honest. So they wrap things around you that pass a current or heat and make you 'exercise' whilst doing it and give you a nutrition plan? Really? Just exercise and eat healthily. Seems like a waste of moeny.

l have tried lemon juice and its effective. on empty stomach in the morning take on glass of warm water and add juice of one whole lemon and add one spoon of honey into it. take this for two months and drink plenty of water during day time and add walk for 1 hour at least and cover at least 3 km a day. A calorie deficit of 3,500!!!! WHAT?! Totalling that up that's 4,000 calories. NO ONE should be eating 4,000 calories a day, unless you're a world class athlete or insane body builder. The recommended daily calorie intake for women is only 2,000 calories. Consuming only 500 calories a day is a starvation diet and basically puts the body into Ketosis - not recommended. The only real way to lose any kind of fat is through a good healthy diet and exercise. Good mixed weight/cardio workouts are the way to go - building muscle burns fat fast and keeps burning those calories long after a workout. The hot lemon and honey water has no scientific basis for fat loss. It is however a great way to prepare the digestive tract first thing, aids with digestion, has a detox effect, gives energy etc. Unfortunately belly fat is ALWAYS the last thing to go and abs are made in the kitchen, not in the gym. There's simply no quick fix or miracle cure - short of having lipo and a tummy tuck and sucking it out! It takes hard work, dedication and effort.

What ind of discolouration? White flaky patches or yellowy patches are usually nail fungus. Easily treated by putting Apple Cider vinegar regularly on the nail, or soak in a footbath of warm water with Apple Cider vinegar and baking soda. Or you can get nail paints from the pharmacy. Avoid using nail polish until it's gone.

There's a list of 'essential items' that won't have VAT imposed upon them. Tobacco products are all going up 100%, tax also imposed on alcohol and fizzy/energy drinks - this is because the powers that be want people to cut down on these things.

And just to throw another news source into the mix here's an article from The National which says getting a tattoo is not legally penalised and only that it is forbidden to get tattooed by someone unlicensed. The article is more current than the other two sources so I'd say laws could have changed since 2012. https://www.thenational.ae/uae/uae-legal-q-as-are-tattoos-illegal-1.117346. Still not exactly clear and a grey area I think. Regardless, I would never get a tattoo here - speaking as someone heavily tattooed - the "talent" pool is far too small and there is just not the choice of quality artists. You should always choose an artist who specialises in the type of tattoo style that you want - not someone who is a jack of all trades and will scratch any old design on your arm with poor lines etc. Get something done in a major city around the world that is full of world class artists. Why would you ever want to put anything less than the best permanently on your skin? I read that Q&A - it's not an article. But there in lies the catch 22, yes they give licenses for 'medical and cosmetic tattoos', but they won't issue ones for people to operate a tattoo parlour, so those licensed are doing artistic tattoos on the side, they certainly won't be doing them within the salons/clinics. Also again in the Q&A it states that artistic tattoos are frowned upon in Islam, which is why it would be very unlikely that a tattoo parlour would ever ben licensed here. As someone who works in media and news, we would have been told if the laws/rules had changed, but nothing. There's a really simple way to find out, pick up the phone call the DHA and ask them. There are some really excellent artists here, who've operated in parlours all over the world and take part in global competitions every year. There's only one that I use and he's a true artist and his designs and the time he takes and his detailing is incredible. But these people are hard to find, because they will only be recommended by previous clients and then only to people that they know.

Thanks albeit another interesting news article rather than anything published by the authorities but I'm sure it's correct. . It doesn't seem to mention the issue being Islam..... more of a health issue, which makes sense. Completely agree about the tattoonation site ..... didn't ever think it was genuine I'm not at all confused .... I was simply seeking clarification of your previous post stating "Tattoos for artistic purposes are illegal here and always have been" now you say "tattoos themselves are not illegal" which sounds slightly contradictory but I get what you mean. Either way looks like it'll be easier getting it done outside the UAE :) Thanks for the info and your help. I think you misunderstood what I said, I never said HAVING artistic tattoos was illegal - they're not and that would be ridiculous. HAVING artistic tattoos done here is illegal, that's why there are no licensed tattoo parlours. You seem to be being argumentative about the situation for some reason. Not sure why.

Also if you look at that tattoo nation website, it's all very vague, no address, no names of artists, no prices, fake phone number. I recognise some of the work, so it's artists already operating in the UAE, but doing it privately, because, as we keep saying, you can't get a license for an artistic tattoo parlour. So it's people probably licensed through cosmetic salons and doing the other stuff on the side. The fact that you have to email them for details also suggests they'll look at who is asking first. There really is no point saying, but, but, but. That's the way it is. There was only ever ONE licensed tattoo shop, but it closed down years a go and they haven't done anything since, because as I said, under Islam it's not allowed. The alcohol argument is moot, as it IS allowed and license.

Sure. Here you go. It's a few years old, but still stands and nothing has changed. http://gulfnews.com/news/uae/health/providing-tattoo-services-in-guise-of-body-art-is-illegal-1.1007390 Licenses for artistic tattoo parlours have never been granted. As I said, 'some' of those cosmetic places that have licences will sometimes offer artistic tattoos if you ask them 'under the radar' but they're not meant to do them, for the reasons stated earlier. I've had tattoos done here, both cosmetically - in a salon, and artistically, by my 'go to' amazing guy. But his details I definitely won't be sharing. Also I think you're getting confused - tattoos themselves are not illegal, but there is no license given to do artistic ones.

Tattoos for artistic purposes are illegal here, and always have been. Certainly it's NEVER been legal in the 14 years I've lived here. Semi-permanent make-up done by the salons is legal and they have licenses for that. But you can't get a license for a tattoo parlour - because, as far as I'm aware, permanent body adornment of that sort is haram under Islam, because it's seen as self harm. There might be 'some' clinics that do it, and are licensed but these aren't really professional artistic tattoo artists. However, that's not to say that there aren't people, and really good tattoo artists operating under the radar. I know of two of three really excellent ones, but they will ONLY work on recommendations from previous clients, because, huh shock, horror, it's illegal.

You could try agencies like Diva Models or Bareface. As for increasing confidence? Could actually have the opposite effect. The industry is ruthless and competitive and if people don't get picked for whatever reason, it's actually a confidence knocker, increases lack of body/looks confidence etc. Think very carefully before allowing your child to go down this route.

Speak to your friend, tell her what's happened. Tell the daughter she can stay, but her husband has to go. This is NOT acceptable behaviour. He's stealing, he's been caught. YOu definitely need to go and speak to the bank directly. But the car dealer wants to give you 15,000 less because you missed ONE service? That's utterly ridiculous. It makes absolutely no financial sense for the bank to auction the car off and get virtually nothing, when they have a guaranteed buy back from the showroom. I think you need to try and get someone in a position of authority in the room with the bank as well and let them hash it out - that's the beneficial solution for both those parties.

Technically no. Husbands can't work under a wife's sponsorship. If he's setting up a business through a freezone, he can get his own visa. As the company owner, he's have an investor visa. All easy enough to set up.

As far as I was aware if a husband changes job/company, then all the visas of his dependants have to be cancelled before his can be cancelled/transferred, then he has to reapply to sponsor everyone again. You really need to check with the DNRD as I've never heard of this.

Most of the freezones offer freelance visas and no you don't have to operate within the freezone, only TwoFour54 freezone in Abu Dhab i does that. Shop around and see which freezone offers the best thing for you. But bear in mind these visas are costly, around 20-25,ooo dhs a year, then you'll need to get your own health insurance +++++. I can recommend contacting Vital Corporate Solutions in JLT - they'll give you ALL the options, so you can make an informed decision.

Well in all honesty, with brunches going on this year etc. I think Ramadan is becoming more and more relaxed. I reckon in under 5 years, it'll be like other countries where everything just carries on as normal. Unfortunately this is all economics, where the country's revenue wants to come from tourism, trade etc and move away from oil based revenue - it has to, oil won't last forever. I just really don't think they can afford to be strict with rule which would deter people from coming here for a month, and let's face it many people disappear to other countries during Ramadan and I'm sure they'd rather have them stay in the UAE. Plus there's that old argument - which come from many of my muslim friends and colleagues, that if you're not tested, then what is the point? Their fast is private to them and no one else's business. This is not to say that some things should be excused.

Unfortunately males over the age of 18 can't be sponsored by their families in the UAE. They either have to get a student study visa or an employment visa. I'm not sure if there are any exceptions for special circumstances. You'd need to contact immigration and ask. ETA: a friend has just said there's a humanitarian committee where you can state your case and they then decide whether to allow you to sponsor a family member outside the normal rules.

You'll need to check with the individual rental companies but I 'think' it'll go something like this: You can rent a car on your US license when you arrive, but as soon as you have your residency, you'll have to head to the traffic department and exchange your US license for a UAE one - this process is easy once you have all the correct documents and doesn't take long. Once you have your UAE license you'll need to go back to the car rental company and give them all those details for them to update on your rental. But as I said, check with the car rental companies first.

Maybe the CPAP machine airflow needs adjusting then so reduce it. Has he been to a sleep centre and had analysis done? It sounds ridiculous, but because sleeping on your back in one of the biggest culprits, I have know people to stitch a tennis ball to the back of a t-shirt, then when the person rolls onto their back, it's uncomfortable, so they roll over onto their side again. As already suggested, sounds like he needs to see an ENT.

You need a gastric specialist not an ENT. I had reflux and it's horrible and I suffered for years. I had an endoscopy done to see how serious it was. There's a surgical option to reduce the opening so the acid doesn't come up into the throat area. However, you can reduce the symptoms. I found certain foods used to kick it off, mainly anything spicy or rich, dairy also can be a culprit. I used to have to take things for the rhinitis as well.

Not specifically true about the FZE info. I have a FZE trade license and am in no way restricted to operating within the freezone. TwoFour24 is the only one that does this, as far as I'm aware. Your actual red tape area is the working from home part, because operating commercially from a residential property puts you in breach of your tenancy contract.

Invisalign is only really good if you don't require major alterations. I went the traditional train track route, as it works much faster. Just bear in mind that whichever you use, you WILL need retainers afterwards. As an adult, get the permanent ones put in. If you don't use them, all your teeth will move back and it will have been a waste of time. FairyDust - Just a few questions: How long did you keep the train tracks in for? Did you have any speech difficulties with the retainers and are they difficult to clean? Thanks I had train tracks top and bottom for 9 months - you get used to having a bit of a lisp and it goes away after a while. What many people don't tell you is that braces HURT!!! Especially when you change up the wires to more rigid ones, but they're heat activated, so sipping ice cold drinks of sucking on ice lollies helps. Retainers? No, because I have permanent ones cemented behind my teeth top and bottom. They need a bit of attention when cleaning your teeth, but I forget they're there most of the time.
