Just do a google search for: who pays visa fees in Dubai - and a whole bunch of news articles will pop up - take your pick.

It's illegal for them to make you pay for your visa and medical, so you can pull them up on that right there. THEY are responsible for paying ALL costs to get you here, sorting your visa and medical and they should also provide you with 30 days accommodation on arrival, so you can sort all this and find somewhere to live - until you have your residency you will be unable to rent anywhere. Doesn't sound great from the start to be honest. If they're willing to not take responsibility for their obligations from the start, what else will they not want to do down the line. I'd pass in all honesty.

However, it is still important to have the HPV test BEFORE getting the vaccine, as the strains that put you in a high risk for cervical cancer are only a few and if you already have those strains, there is zero point in getting the vaccine. I speak from personal experience on this one. Also people need to realise that HPV isn't just an STD, you can get it through other means and some people are just natural carriers. Always test first, then consider the vaccine.

You need to join the 'Dogs in Dubai' facebook group for advice on this situation, as unfortunately there have been a few of late. What breed is your dog? What 'can' happen in this situation is, unfortunately if your neighbour has make a police case, then yes, they can come and confiscate your dog. It can be taken to the Municipality, where they can access its behaviour to deem whether or not it is dangerous. In many situations the animal is given back to the owner, along with a fine and a stern warning. I would strongly suggest that you go and speak to your neighbour, make it clear that it is YOU who is to blame for this situation (true or not), and for them not to be so inhuman as to punish your dog for a mistake. Dogs can attack other dogs for the simplest of reasons, mine gets aggressive at other dogs when they're all on the leash, as he has 'small dog syndrome' and feels he needs to get in before he's got at - leave them all off the lead and no issue at all. Your neighbour sounds like a really horrible person to take delight in this situation, something that you might question them over. In the meantime, if you have somewhere you can send your dog to, a safe place, to a friends, a kennel for the time being until you can resolve the situation, I suggest you do so.

Ruby123, you can try the gynae at GMC/Mediclinic on Beach road - she's very nice. Also if it's for you, first thing to do is actually have the HPV test - more than 50% of people are carriers anyway and it's not necessarily a transmitted STD - contrary to popular belief.

I would do some serious research into this vaccine and get medical advice before you decide to use it, either on yourself or your daughter, as there have been incidents of serious side effects and the jury is really still out over whether it's effective or not.

Wow thank you SOOO much ladies, these have really helped me out. Just some general day to day life questions. How easy is it to get the following to deliver home/ provide services in Remraam; - takeaway -pharmacy -maids -laundry I can get most of these done quite easily in JVC which is soooo convenient, so need to mentally prepare for an it if a change if it's more difficult there. All the takeaways in Motorcity and DIP deliver here - so no issues there. We have a small Geant for day to day groceries and things. We also have a pharmacy in the community, as well as a coffee shop, dry cleaners and a barbers. There are other small shops and food outlets coming in the soon to be completed area by the mosque. Plenty of maid agencies come to the community, so no problem with that either.

You mean you've never seen people refer to AR as 'The Dark Side'? It's a joke! There's a friendly rivalry between the two sides.

I live there and I'll answer some of your questions: 1) Is it better to live in Ramth or Thamam? Al Ramth is known as 'The Dark Side' lol - doesn't really matter, but you'll find that they tend to charge more for Al Thamam as it's completed, whereas there is still construction going on in AR. Both sides have pools - when they\re operational, but AT has the supermarket and other little shops, a basketball court and tennis courts. 2) What are the costs of electricity/ dewa/AC per month in a 2/3 bedroom apartment? I live in a 2 bed and it's around 500 dhs a month at the moment, including housing fee. Really depends on how much you use your AC. 3) What is the general vibe in the community? Are people happy there? erm I'd join one of the Remraam community groups. People always moan and complain about some thing. However, we do have some serious issues at the moment, with a severe lack of parking, some of us unable to use our parking sports due to leaks from the ceiling which has stripped our cars paintwork off, messy people, noisy people, people not disposing of rubbish, kids pooping in pools meaning the pools are out of action, complaints about pets - you know, the usual gripes about community living. 4) Which is the best floor to live on? Are there issues with living in the ground floor? Many people say avoid the top floor, as you can get a lot of noise from the rooftop ac units, plus the top floors are hotter - heat rises. Ground floor, depends if you like your stuff destroyed from people chucking cigarette butts all over the place. I suggest coming and having a look round, especially during prayer time, as (no disrespect intended), the mosque can be very loud at times, so if that would bother you, then there are certain buildings you'd need to avoid. 5) Does anyone know a good agent who deals with Remraam? None that I'd recommend - they're all sharks.

Why don't you just get your hair died a decent colour - reds ALWAYS wash out and are high maintenance, have a treatment to restore some health in your hair and find a good hairstylist that can use clip in extensions for your wedding day.

how long does it stay? That really depends entirely on your hair type and how often you wash it. You have to bear in mind that these aren't straightening treatments, but smoothing treatments. If you have very wavy/curly hair, it won't get rid of that completely, but made it smoother and more manageable and take out the frizz. To give you an example, I have wavy/frizzy hair and washed my hair about 4 times a week - although every day if I'm gyming. The old kerastraight treatments probably lasted about 3 -4 months. The new formula - forget it, does absolutely nothing for my hair, because they basically removed the active ingredient, which is why I opened for the Brazilian Blowout instead, which last about 4 months.

Well of course the dealer car will cost more, as they have to put a mark up to make a profit. You can take the car to Tasjeel to get it checked over. Check to see if there's any outstanding loans on the vehicle.

So long as your phone is unlocked and not locked into a US network, then yes, you can get an Etisalat or DU SIM. Personally I wouldn't bother with a contract here, as they're a pain. I've have a pre-paid Etisalat SIM for 14 years, no major issues. Have a data package. I facetime or skype my relative abroad as it costs nothing.

Hey, don't be embarrassed, it happens as we get older. I got an 'at-home' treatment from my dentist. They take a mould and make personal trays for you, then give you the gels to use at home. You can get varying strengths of gel, to either use overnight, or ones that you use for a couple of hours. I did this, purely because I have super sensitive teeth and the in-dentist chair treatments I know were going to be too much for me. Any of these treatments will set you back around 1,500 dhs.

I've used Aliza for a couple of Brazilian blowouts and her charges start at 800dhs for shoulder length hair for that. Are you talking about Kerastraight? I used to have these, but stopped as they changed the formula and the way it's done and I found it's no where near as effective as it used to be - basically they removed the active ingredient, which is formaldehyde - the Brazilian Blow out still has this, which is why I find it better.

You could ask the managing agents such as Emaar for your building what the average cost for a one bed. in a certain building is likely to be. You can also reduce cost by not running A/C all the time - many people switch it off in the winter for a few hours but you have to be careful you don't get any mould from damp. Some landlord may include it in their rent as they are the people who would pay the actual bill usually. er no we don't! If it's Emicool, the tenant has the account in their name and they pay it, owners don't. Also Emicool has a standard minimum fee a year.

If you do a search, this has recently been answered. However, Dr Jafar Khan and Murizio Viel are both very good. You'll pay around 1,500-1,800 dhs for the forehead area. Many injectors now use Dysport, in favour of traditional Botox. It's well worth familiarising yourself with the things that can go wrong, as everyone is different, so the results are not always the same and some people experience issues and others don't - but that's not a reflection on the injectors, it's just the human body and how it reacts to certain things.

Not really. Depends why you're asking for a reduction. But legally, according to RERA, your current rent has to be 25% below the market rate as per the rent calculator. If it isn't, then your landlord can refuse.

Hi can anyone recommend a good place for Botox that's also easy to get to since I don't know my way around yet ? How much is it here in DXB approximately for two areas ? Thankyou for helping Both the DRs I use sadly aren't near MOE. Expect to pay AED1300-AED1500, avoid the cheap places as they usually water it down or use products that aren't allergan or Dysport I'd avoid saying things like that, as you can't prove it!

Everything that's been suggested so far is all fine and well, but it's the OTT stuff. As a seasoned traveller, I'd also suggest checking out the old and historic parts of Dubai. Go across the creek on an abra, visit the spice souk and the big old gold souk. Do a desert safari. Have a wander round the the bastakia. The Dubai museum is well worth a visit.

They 'could' have a permit that allows them to carry on during the night - you can ask to see it and if they can't produce it, then call the municipality to get them to stop. They usually have permits to pour concrete during the night, but other noises are a no no.

Unfortunately he will be classed as having been working illegally, as he never had a visa or work permit. He signed a document to say he'd received all his end of service benefits - you NEVER sign anything unless you've actually received it. The company can provide this as evidence against any case you might try to bring against them. Unfortunately in this case, you really don't have a leg to stand on and as has been said, you'll probably have to right it off and chalk it up to experience.

You can use Shea Butter in pure form. Google to see its benefits it supposed to be good for pigmentation and is a natural sun block besides other benefits. I use it as a primer for my base as well and its just perfect. I started using it since any other moisturizer would give me acne so its worked perfectly for me. Shea Butter certainly is NOT a sunblock. It's SPF varies wildly and only ranges from 0-6 and certainly does nothing to block out UV rays, which are the ones that cause the problems. Not recommended. You need a proper facial sunscreen with an SPF of around 30 to be effective.

The absolute MUST is to use sunscreen on your skin every day! It HAS to be part of your skincare routine, especially here. Use a nice natural one, that is easily absorbed into your skin and put your makeup over it. I like Neutrogena, as it's not oily.

They've done interviews in the media and released statements. I'm really not sure what else people expect from them. At ANY concert, ANY where in the world you will have congestion and queues etc., it's certainly not a Dubai thing. Unfortunately many people seem to have the Dubai mentality, where they leave home 30 mins before the gig and expect to waltz in with no issues - um and if 9,999 other people do exactly the same, what's going to happen? We've always got to any gig at least 2 hours before show time - it's necessary to avoid these issues. Departing however, is a whole different ball game.

It's only the Abu Dhabi freezone, that requires you to work within the freezone, the rest don't care. UAE, Fujairah, DMC, DSS really aren't that bothered. NB freezones don't issue labour cards, because they're freezones and self governing with their own labour laws, so as far as I'm aware MOL rules don't always apply. I don't have a labour card and haven't had one for a couple of years now, I'm not working illegally, as my permits and licenses are legal. It's certainly not one hard and fast rule.

Sorry saralou, but not strictly true. fluffyfrank, what they're basically doing is employing you as a freelancer - I have one of these contracts, as I am freelance and have my own visa, as do many of the others that work with me - those in spouse visas are required to provide an NOC. Our contracts are only in English, and it lays out our key responsibilities and what is expected. 30 days notice is what written for us. This is normal, not at all illegal. But you don't have any rights as an employee, as you're not on the company's sponsorship and they'll just pay you the agreed shift rate. It's fine. Basically because it's a freelance contract - that's why they've put you as a consultant, none of the labour laws really apply and in that respect they can't ask you for 12 weeks notice, which is ridiculous. I'd say approx 30% of the staff in my department work under these contracts, so definitely not illegal - and ours is a company that does everything by the book. Hi FD So does that mean that anyone can work from home and no form of permit is required other than an NOC from Husband? Everything I have ever read or heard from the authorities has stated that you would need some form of work permit/licence to freelance It would be great to know this for clarification Thanks Working from home is a whole different area and NOT what we're talking about here. Because if you're running a business and earning a living from a residential property, it puts you in breach of your tenancy contract - hence why a whole load of home tutors got fined a couple of years a go. As I said many of our freelance staff are on their husbands visa, all they had to do was provide an NOC and a copy of their visa and EID to HR and there's been no issues at all. But the NOC is a must, unless you have your own visa. I don't even think they issue temporary labour cards anymore. I have a consultancy visa and a trade license.

Unfortunately I don't think it's as easy as that. There's a 30 day grace period to renew a trade license after expiry, but then the DED fine you 200dhs for every month after that. So even if you give it for free, anyone taking it still needs to pay several thousand DHS in back fines, unless a freeze was put on the license. - unless that information has changed.

Watchdogs and research have proven it has zero benefit and you're better off eating fruit and veg and you average, cheap supermarket bought multi-vitamin has more benefits than this junk.
