Don't bother - use SPF 40 or max 50, as the sheer amount of chemicals in any sunscreen over that is horrific and they don't actually give you much more protection - all told to be by several dermatologists. If you want better protection, wear a rash vest.

Your best bet is to register it with an agent - they can handle most of this for you. But depending what sort of boat it is, will decide how easy it is to sell. It took over a year for us to sell ours.

Staffordshire bull terriers in general are a banned breed, as per the municipality rules. Although there are these dogs in the country, it's not allowed to keep them in an apartment and they have to be leashed and muzzled at all times in public. Great thanks. Yes we aware that we would need a villa and no problem with the lead and muzzle But you'd still need to find an airline who'd fly that breed - a big ask. Anyways good luck with your research I know how precious our pets can be. It's not even about flying the dog, first you'd have to see if the municipality would actually allow you to import the dog - given that it's a banned breed - they might deny the import papers.

I had train tracks, top and bottom at Dr Michaels a few years a go - it was about 16,000 for the full treatment. You pay in instalments every time you go. The orthodontist was at the Al Wasl branch - Dr David. I have permanent retainers cemented behind my teeth. When I went for a recent check up at another dentists he said the work was excellent and he's seen some really terrible orthodontic work here. Up shot - you get what you pay for.

Your phone is linked to your visa, so every time you renew your visa, you have to renew your phone registration. People without visas can still keep their numbers - my mother did this when she came for a visit recently - she's on DU, just had to pay a small reregistration fee to activate the number again.

That's the thing - if money is exchanging hands, then you should have a business license and be registered to do that. There are several pet sitting companies and they all have licenses and insurance to cover what they do. Plus all staff are trained what to do if there is an emergency with the animal. Many communities to reciprocal pet sitting, where neighbours look after each other pets - but that's a whole different thing, as it's a 'favour' and no cash in changing hands.

So there was water leaking and the water has been turned off and yet no one has accessed the apartment? As an owner I certainly would have done. Given that the rent has not been paid, the tenant is in breach of contract and it was an emergency, I'd have gone there and gained access to see what was going on. I ALWAYS keep a spare set of keys in case of an emergency situation. If the apartment has been left empty all that time, I dread to think of the state of it inside. Don't most people change the locks? I have done as I have no clue if any previous tenants have old keys. I do inform the LL of this but they have never asked for a spare key No, as changing the locks without permission can put you in breach of your tenancy contract. I got several sets of keys when my apartment was handed over and the management company who deals with everything, advised me to keep one set - for emergency cases only. Luckily my tenant is awesome.

Regardless of whether there is a warranty or not, he sold you an item which didn't work to start with - so it was faulty. The manufacturer has an obligation to replace it with one that actually works.

My husband bought me a horrible pair of wide framed florescent green knock off ray ban sunglasses from dragon mart. I doubt that the lenses are uv protected. I didn't want this gift but I was guilted into accepting them and wearing them in public. I'm pretty sure you will find what you are looking for there. True, they won't have UV protection or be UV tested. Giving people something that could potentially damage their eyesight - not cool.

These are lithium and alkaline batteries. The white powder is alkaline residue, you can just clean it out with a brush. New batteries should not leak. What sort of toys are you using them in? These sorts of batteries are meant for high power, high drain devices, such as digital cameras, gaming consoles etc so they might not be suitable for the things you're using them in.

Oh... I don't like the idea of this I must admit. But if it stops people who would otherwise go to Africa or elsewhere from shooting endangered animals then I can just about see it. I don't want to say I support it, and It might not do the above at all. It won't stop people doing that, because none of the animals in this 'resort' are endangered.

Well when I walk my dogs in the desert area behind Motorcity every morning, you can literally see the smog bank stretching from the Marina to the top of Shk Zayed rd, it's awful. It's VERY easy to see where the pollution comes from - gas guzzling, giant cars, sitting in endless traffic jams pumping out fumes. Plus all the trucks on the roads - do you think many of these are emissions tested? Although there are emissions tests for all the vehicles, it still all adds up.

Oh come ON LC - you very well know, that although there are many 'rules', they are bent and overlooked much of the time - they have to, otherwise no one would come here!!! And the reason people come to forums to ask questions, is because there is so much conflicting advice on the internet and people like to get honest opinions of people who live somewhere. We all know very well that the UAE and Dubai in particular is a land of total hypocrisy - so don't sit there in your high and mighty chair and speak down to others. As I said, there are ways and means of saying something to someone. And yes, THIS might seem harsh, but sometimes people need a reality check.

Thank you ladies, The reason to why i wash my hair daily is because i want to get rid of the oily greasy look! I have meetings almost every day at work and I really feel insecure when my hair looks oily and not clean :( will try the organic shampoos and see...I hope it will solve it But this is what we're saying, washing it every day is actually the problem and causing it to be oily. Realistically, you only ever need to wash your hair a few days a week.

Well you could actually be washing your hair too much. If you're washing every day, you're stripping the oils out too quickly and that could make them come back even oilier and greasier. Try using a medicated shampoo like Vosene once a week - it's brilliant for keeping the scalp and hair healthy.

Easy, get up an hour or so earlier. These days I am up by 4:30 else I won't fit it in. You can also do a true high intensity workout in 20 mins, it is all you need, and most of the time, it can be all body weight exercises. 3-4 of those a week is how I am getting by and my jeans are looser than ever. Just set your alarm and do something. Flippin' heck........ how much sleep do you get? To be fair, I have friends, who when they're training for an events will be up at 3.30/4am to run and workout. These people are INSANE!

What is up with all the 7days letters about what women are wearing during the lead up to and during Ramadan? How come women have to dress differently and "hide the bingo wings" and men are allowed to still let it all hang out? Finding it patently unfair to publicly harass and body shame women this way. The majority of the time, those moaning are busybody expats and not actually people adhering to Ramadan - it's always amusing to see these people taking 'offense' when most fasting muslims (the ones I work with and friends) couldn't care less what other people do. The UAE is one of the few countries that shuts down eateries etc during daylight hours, many other muslim majority countries don't actually do this.

Same chezmoi. All our Muslim work colleagues just tell everyone else to carry on as normal, as their fast is their personal business and nothing to do with anyone else. Most of them also find it silly that things are banned, as their opinion is if they're not tested, then what's the point?

sheikhandbake, PLEASE go and read the articles, look at the pictures and see the videos before you comment! We do not deliberately boil other animals alive, skin them alive, take their fur off with a blow torch while they are ALIVE!!!! Many of these animals are pets, that have been stolen. The Chinese Government denies (unbelievably) that this festival even exists. Sad thing is most Chinese are also opposed to this 'festival' and many actively fight to rescue the animals. 10,000 will be brutally tortured to death on Sunday. Also sad thing is that social media is banned and blocked in China. If you can honestly sit there, look into the eyes of a suffering animal who is literally being flayed ALIVE and think that's acceptable - there's something seriously wrong with you!

The authorities need to do a lot more to regulate animals. Stop all these animal markets and shops selling animals. Make people have to buy a license and have their animals registered. Fines for abandoning or abusing animals. Also I really hate to say it, but organizations, no matter how good and kind hearted it sounds with a 'no kill' policy are highly irresponsible. So you 'rescue' (some people just pick up animals randomly when actually they're perfectly fine on their own) an animal that is badly injured, FIV+ and injured, lying at deaths door, spend thousands getting it healthy, putting it through hours, days, weeks of pain only to then be kept in a crate at the vets, shoved from home to home for months or even years on end. Surely, it is kinder to put some of these cases to sleep and divert the cash to paying off the extortionate vet bills that are being racked up and put it towards TNR programs and animals that actually stand a chance of being rehomed. Not meaning to be cold-hearted, but sometimes people need to leave their emotions out of the equation and actually consider what is good animal welfare.

Thank you Sue for writing that. The recent articles and seeing all the rescue groups crying for help is heartbreaking. I've lost faith in most people - anyone who would do that to an animal is a disgusting person and no part of the human race in my book. Have you also noticed the distinct rise in people looking for others to 'foster' their pets whilst they go on holiday? Because they couldn't be bothered to sort kennels or a sitter out when or even before they booked their vacation, or can't be bothered to pay? These people take away desperate foster homes for animals who actually need one - it's an awful practice.
