rera calculator reads .. Rent is lower by 8% of the average rent for the type of unit you have chosen . According to the law governing change, your rating category is 10% So you are not entitled to any increase of rent. Then regardless of the 90 day notice period, you write back and simply state that according to the RERA rent calculator and the LAW, you are not entitled to any increase and therefore your contract shall be renewed under the current terms and conditions and at the current rate - end of story. If he has a problem with that, then HE must go to the rent committee.

The absolute best thing you can do is contact BKC and arrange for discounted neutering for the mother cat. All the organisations are full at the moment and really can't take on any more cases unless they are absolute emergencies.

I'm about to ditch DU and OSN as they charge ridiculous prices for endless repeats. They did send emails out about it and put a notice on their site about the increases.

Also you might have voltage issues and problems with plugs, any electrical stuff from the US is generally a problem. If you buy from the UK you won't have any problems I dont think. Good point - voltage differences are a pain.

These are dog ticks - avoid walking your dog on sand as they hide then catch a ride inbetween the toes. These things I swear could survive a nuclear blast, they are virtually impossible to kill. They drop off the dog and then will go and hide in corners of door frames, skirting boards anywhere dark and cosy basically. Frontline doesn't work on them - for the dogs the ONLY thing I found that ever worked was the tick and flea collars. Honestly bug bombing and pest control can take ages to get these things out. Burning them seems to be the only way to kill them. Just vile things.

You will pay duty on anything valued over 300$. Difficult with electronics as putting them through scanners etc has the potential to fry any onboard software - had that happen before - I ordered a specialised router and customs fried it with the x-ray machine.

Taking driving lessons here won't help, the driving schools are the places that actually *create* the bad drivers. If you've passed the UK driving test, you're already a much better driver than anyone who passed their test here. Yup, taking lessons is likely to undo all the good driving you currently have, not worth bothering with.

During rush hour? That's going to take you at least 30 mins in free flowing traffic. The major routes down to JLT from the Ranches get very clogged. I didn't take driving lessons, just drove around with friends in quiet areas for a while.

Hi. I own an apartment in CRW which I rent. The quality is much better than your average Dubai construction that's for sure. Some apartments have had their issues but once sorted everything seems to be fine. I think it's a good neighbourhood. Victory Heights villas are next door as is the Els Club. Motorcity for supermarkets, gyms etc is close by. It's going to be under construction for a while as only the Med building is handed over so far. I wouldn't expect the other two buildings to be handed over until at least the end of this year and the big one - Venetian sometime next year so there will be construction for a while yet. Plus the canal won't be filled until everything is finished.

There must be some kennel out there even if it is in another Emirate. Some pet shops and vets also offer boarding. All the GOOD ones will have been booked up months ago for the summer season. Never board in a pet shop - they're stuck in tiny crates all day.

oops - must read more carefully. I used to pet sit and dogs were generally ok with 2 45 minutes sits a day. Personally, unless it was a friend i would never take in someone else's animal - especailly with the amount of abandoned animals here.... who's to know this isn't another one..... Maybe find a local pet sitter who can come in - if you google pet sitters dubai you will get lots. Sadly it wouldn't be the first time I've heard that happening. Someone palms their pet off on a mate to go away, only to never come back! Most pet sitters insist at least 2 visits a day for dogs.

Put it this way - if it's too hot for you to go barefoot - it's definitely too hot for your dogs feet. I got mine from Modern Vet on Al Wasl Road. Pooch never goes out daytime without them.

If you want to go the juicing route to loose a few pounds in a short space of time, then Jason Vale's 7lbs in 7 days works wonders BUT it's mostly water weight. As you come back to a 'normal' diet, still juice once of twice a day. Crash diets are ridiculous and mess about with your metabolism. Healthy choices, moderation and exercise. It's a lifestyle - NOT a diet.

Well I'd be getting in touch with the organisation and reminding them that naming and shaming on social media in the UAE is classed as slander and not allowed!!!! How is it slander when it actually happened? It's classed as that here - don't ask me why. BUT regardless, it's not allowed and goes against personal privacy laws. So still, they should be contacted and asked to remove everyone's names. It's been covered in the press consistently over the last few weeks, reminding people that they cannot post about others on social media without their express permission. <em>edited by FairyDust on 10/06/2014</em>

Good luck with that! I was always jipped as all my family live in Australia, but we got flight allowance to wherever our passport is from - so the cheapest possible flight to the UK. Now, we get an annual allowance, but I think that will change to again, cheapest flight possible. You can only ask and they can only say yes or no. Now I know we live in a place where English is not the first language for many so I'm happy to over look the odd quirk in advertising. But there is a major US store advertising their sale on radio 92.0 -- "Until supplies last!" Who checks these things? It completely undermines their credibility to have such a blatant error in their grammar ... Aw heck! I actually corrected that script to 'while stocks last' - clearly as a native English speaker I know nothing and the 2nd, 3rd English language writers and agency know better! Am furious!

You're probably better off getting stuff in the sales now. For DSF and DSS they tend to bump the prices up, then reduce to around the original price, so it 'looks' like you're getting a good deal. Used to have trouble finding it when i was on it. Would always go to the small pharmacy just across NMC hospital. They always had stock How can you get it from a pharmacy? It has to be injected by a doctor! Try GMC on Beach Rd, that's where I always used to go.
