It's so sad. I don't think she ever got over the death of her mother, who died the same way. The poor family is dogged with tragedy. It's not for people to judge, some people never beat their demons and clearly she had many.

Maximum increase anyone can ask is 20% and then the difference between what you currently pay and the calculator has to be 40%.

This all gives me a headache. So now my LL has served me TWO, yes TWO months notice as he 'doesn't wish to renew'. RERA again stating what he's done is not allowed - even though it states in my contract he can terminate with 2 months notice - but then that contracts an 'automatically renewable contract'. Plus he hasn't stated a valid reason not to renew. Why do they put us through all this drama and trouble. Just fed up of it now :( <em>edited by FairyDust on 28/04/2014</em>

I would suggest going to your doctor and asking them to prescribe a similar medication as a replacement, that is more readily available. When I took Zoloft years ago, had the same issues, sometimes available, sometimes not - so got an alternative.

The municipality take your details so they can follow up with you, but they won't inform the owner of who has complained against them. Depends on the owner - we have someone who has 3 rotties, locked up in a cage on their balcony of an apartment building - municipality went there, fined him, but hasn't done much about the dogs. It's illegal to keep rotties in an apartment. The owner only took action and brought them inside after basically everyone ganged up on him on a group, telling how shameful his actions were.

Australia is massive and it really depends what sort of thing you're into. I've loved Perth - heading over to Rottnest Island is a definite must see - from there you can do a four day outback tour and see loads of things - brilliant experience. Brisbane and the Gold Coast is fantastic - take in Surfer's Paradise, go on a whale watch. Sydney - travel up into the Blue mountains, enjoy the opera house and gardens also the fantastic zoo that they have.

How does this work though when any changes in contract have to be made 90 days before renewal, if the calculator only updates monthly? I asked someone at the Land Department this question and was told what you can do is agree the terms and then agree to go by the rent calculator in terms of rent increases, if there are any, in the month that your contract renews. Complicated much?

After several attempts to contact our new landlord we received a response on the day the contract expired. He asked for a 40,000 AED increase and changed the contract to non renewable. When we told him we wouldn't accept any changes he said fine you can have 2 months to leave :) And what happened?

It's Remraam. Considering there are zero facilities, it's hard to get in and out of, the build quality is terrible and the issues people have - the rents they're asking now are a joke.

So it's now my turn to have to deal with an unreasonable LL. He's missed both the 90 day (RERA) and 2 month (contract) deadlines for making any changes to my contract - I had already emailed my intention to renew to the agent I deal with. Now the LL contacts me directly looking for a 20,000 Dhs increase! That's 23%! The Rent calculator says no increase as I'm only -4% below the market rate for my area. Why do they even try it on?

Actually I was at a loss for a username and looked up across the room when I tried to think of one. White orchids on my dining table were the first thing I saw... et voila. It just so happens that I am also v white and constantly get asked why I am not tanned when I return to my home country. LOL I'd just been watching the 'Tooth Fairy' so thought of FairyDust :)

I've never heard of them asking people to go and buy credit before though. Normally they ask for the number on your SIM card, which FYI is the same on ALL SIM cards. I feel really sorry for the OP, as it must be awful. But I guess you live and learn. But no one is ever going to ask for your bank details, to send them credit etc if you've 'won' something.

Never EVER put your number on Dubizzle! Always just let people email you, otherwise you will be driven insane by these people. I usually just all the info and if they ask me questions relating to that info I simply state 'it's in the ad!'. You'll still have a person trying to barter over the price as they're wheeling the thing out the door. It should be the result of green thumbs minus red thumbs .... And they should have it listed somewhere so we know how the system works... But as Fairydust rightly says, it's all meaningless anyway as most people will be thumbing the poster rather than the post ... I prefer the way other forums do it. There's no option to 'unlike' something, only a 'like' button for the post and a 'thanks' button where people can leave feedback and that contributes to reputation. Thumbs Up and Down aren't particularly constructive IMHO

To be fair many of the F&L products merely even out skin tone - so can help with sun blemishes etc and not necessary for bleaching the skin a lighter colour. But swings and roundabouts really, others lay in the sun all day trying to get a tan.

What about the men who go away to work? Plenty of military guys, or those working in the oil/gas industry who do 4 weeks on 4 weeks off - they all have to be self sufficient and just get on with it because they have to. It works both ways really.

There are certain airlines I will never fly with due to their appalling safety records, but Malaysian isn't one of them. Look at Air France and their crash? Mostly mechanical, instrumental and human error.

Thank you ladies, Malaysia Airlines it is then :) You are having one of their planes missing and no one knows why! I bet they have some very good deals right now ;-) That's pretty negative. After any incident is probably the best time to fly with an airline as security and procedures will all be under scrutiny and tightened up. Malaysian has one of the best safety records out there. I can't imagine anyone would pay much for a Malaysian Airlines ticket at the moment. Personally wouldn't fly with them even if I got paid for it. At the end of the day, anything can happen to any aircraft at anytime. It's a mechanical thing, they go wrong, it's just sad that when something does happen it's the sheer number involved.You're still far more likely to have an incident a few miles from your own home, than you ever are on a plane. <em>edited by FairyDust on 20/04/2014</em>

the more expensive the shoe, the better made and therefore more comfortable they are.. This is so NOT true. I fact I'd say the complete opposite - price has zero to do with comfort. Kate looks wonderful. The fact that she wears accessible high street brands as well as designer gear is great.

Slimfast shakes are not good - they are highly processed and full of sugar! You're better off looking for a good protein shake. Try Lean95 - all natural ingredients, gives huge energy boosts, the downside is that some flavours don't taste great. You need to look for a protein shake.

Latest news is a mini drone has been sent down 4.5kms to try to retrieve the black boxes. Fingers crossed. It took 2 1/2 years for the AIr France Rio plane black boxes to be recovered thanks to this technology. I am confident the Maylasian flight will be eventually found too. They brought the sub back up - it was too deep :(

So is it worth me reading the books first, or just ploughing through the series on TV ? The second book is BOOOORING! Basically lots of wandering around, then stopping a bit, then a bit more wandering around. Stick with the tv.

It's been like this since 5.30 this morning. Massive smash between several trucks on the Business Bay bridge, so the police shut it off. It's still not clear and has been causing chaos around the entire area. Avoid at all costs.

Sadly it looks like the 'pings' have stopped, which usually indicates that the batteries on the planes black box flight recorders have now run out of power. It's completely agonising for the families but the longer it goes on, the more chances that this could end up as one of those never solved mysteries.

They will just bring the vaccinations up to date. If he intended to take the cat anywhere else, then breaking the cycle of vaccinations could cause issues if he doesn't keep them up to date. ALL domestic animals must be vaccinated and registered regardless whether they are indoor animals or not.
