Well it would be lovely if they actually finished all the other 'under construction' projects first before launching new ones. Still waiting - 7 years on, for the other Canal to be finished in Sport City! Dubai is a constant construction site - do you really think tourists want to come and be stuck in traffic jams for hours on end and 'try' to get to places? No, people want to come somewhere with good infrastructure, that is 'easy' - Dubai is far from 'easy' at the moment.

No, alcohol is not allowed. It's now owned by one of the Sheikhs. Booze was banned along time ago, due to people acting stupid and causing damage - like driving a jetski into the side of one of the VERY expensive house boats - since then, it's a no no.

As I said Marroosh, his was clearance for residency in another country, so had to be done through Abu Dhabi. I've done them before at the Dubai Police HQ - do NOT let them send it to you - it'll likely to take ages and/or get lost. Just ask them to call you when it's ready and go and pick it up.

Take originals and multiple copies. Can't tell you how long the fingers prints take. I had to go to Abu Dhabi to do all this for my friend as apparently police clearance/certificate of good conduct etc are all done there now. So check you're not meant to go to Abu Dhabi. But his was clearance for another country. <em>edited by FairyDust on 04/10/2013</em>

I've just done this for a friend, they require your passport copies, visa copies and your Emirates ID, they will also want to do fingers prints as well.

Kelly at Salon Ink is brilliant with colour. Reds are tricky and only really take very well to hair which already has red in it. If you're talking a bright poppy red, then if your hair is dark, they very often have to lighten it or bleach the hair first - the up keep of this is a lot of hard work. She wants an affordable hairdresser. Salon Ink is anything but affordable. Well in my experience, you get what you pay for. If you want decent and people that know exactly what they are doing with colour, straightening etc you have to expect to pay a decent amount for it - not all hairdressers are capable nor have the skills to do a decent job - as OP has found out.

Sadly SH12, you are dealing with a selfish person who does not give a sh*t about you or anyone else! The only way to make these people learn, is to be an inconvenience to them! You've gone down the polite route, where did it get you? Nowhere, she deliberately went ahead and disturbed you - that's the kind of mentality you are dealing with. On your next note, state clearly that this is the second chance you're giving her to act like a considerate human-being, if she continues, the next complaint will go to security, then to building management, then to her landlord! Don't be a pushover.

SH12, when she's home and has finished prancing about and has obviously gone to bed, why not bash on the ceiling with a broom? Give her a taste of her own medicine. If you have an audio recorder, record the racket she's making.

The complete sentence...... was "In the next few months Dubai is further poised to enhance its status as a global city, with positive feedback and support from across the world for our city’s bid to host the World Expo 2020." Am not actually sure what they mean and am sure they mean Emirate when they say city..... So basically should be 'Dubai is poised to further its status........' typical *fluff* writing, using unecessary words for the sake of it, which makes the entire thing boring and incomprehensible. If that sort of thing lands in my inbox, it;s automatically filled under B - for BIN! edited by FairyDust on 01/10/2013 <em>edited by FairyDust on 01/10/2013</em>

Hang on you 'rent an apartment for your husbands office' - so he's running a business out of a residential property? Does he have permission to do that? Be very careful taking it further if he does not as in all tenancy agreements it will clearly state, that apartments are not to be used for commercial purposes and that would put you in breach on contract, not to mention breaking the law. <em>edited by FairyDust on 01/10/2013</em>

I 'think' the buyer will have to come to Dubai and you both go to one of the licensing outlets here. They then have to put export plates on the car for it to be taken to RAK, where the new owner will then be given another set of plates for it. I'm not sure how much the fees are or who pays them. The RTA will be able to tell you.

Well before going and speaking to landlords, calling the police etc etc - how about going and talking directly to THEM! You can explain that sunbathing topless is not allowed here. As for the sharing - not it's not allowed, but still many people do it. So long as people don't do anything to annoy their neighbours, or cause a problem, I consider that no one elses business. But what ever happened to people talking to one another? People seem all too quick to 'dob' on each other here - it's a bit ridiculous.

Having gone through all of this myself - I still wear a wedge in my shoe most days - if the alignment can't be corrected, then by not doing anything to keep things properly aligned, your son could face issues later on, because his pelvis, spine etc will all realign to compensated for the descrepency in his leg lengths - this is the issue I now face. Trust me, it's better to find a good solution now than to have to deal with issues later on which are harder or impossible to correct. Try Get On Track 04 380 55 69 - they're fantastic.

Switzerland and France are both countries where people expect to rent their home all their lives, not buy it. However, in both Switzerland and France, tenants can reasonably expect to stay in the same home, if they choose not to move, as long as they pay their rent on time and do not damage the premises. There is none of this "you've got to pay an outrageous rent hike after two years or move out" mentality that you get here. Very true, but those countries have a very different set up. The UAE is seen as transient - people are not expected to stay here all their lives, they inevitably HAVE to leave.

I just don't think people should be pressured into having families early - for many it's not financially viable and many couples want to live their lives and have fun first. Granted more and more people seem to be heading down the IVF route - it seems to be coming more common these days.

I think people have to be reasonable and fair on both sides. Whilst obviously tenants have rights, they must remember that they are living in a property owned by someone else! So if, the proper 12 months notice was given and the property sold, I would assume the new owner would want to live in it themselves, if they don't want a tenant - how on earth is that fair to the new owner? It's swings and roundabouts - sadly we live in a place where the majority of people rent, it's the nature of the thing.

I agree with the others to a point - some people just don't want children and it's useless to try and change their minds. I totally disagree when people say at 29 and 32 'time is running out' - practically everyone I know who are only just starting their families are all in their late 30's, early 40's. People are now starting later because careers come first, people are healthier, living longer etc. Many guys in their early 30's still don't have much of clue what they're doing and he might well be being totally genuine when he says he wants to wait 5 years. But if he really, honestly doesn't want children, then she's fighting a losing battle.

Yes. If they are enforcing the country code, as a mall could, they can. Only country decency laws, not stricter than that. In which mall is dress code enforced. EmmaRitz doesn't state they do - which they don't - the most they ever do is give out a leaflet to people they deem inappropriately dressed, and that was only during Ramadan. edited by FairyDust on 25/09/2013 <em>edited by FairyDust on 25/09/2013</em>

Perhaps 'giving cuddles' was a bad way to phrase it. What I mean is physical reassurance. When my dog is scared or anxious he comes to me and sticks to me like glue - he needs the physical closeness to reassure him that everything is ok.

What about the Depo injection? You just have one jab every 3 months. If you want to know how it will affect you, Cerazette uses the same hormones, so if you're ok on that pill, the depo will likely be alright for you as well.

You need to reassure him that everything is 'OK'- tell him, talk to him in a calm tone. Give him cuddles etc when he starts to get scared. Take a ball outside to play with. He needs to be reminded that being outside is fun and alright again. You need distraction for him, throw a ball/frizbee, find another dog to walk with.

Who's fault was the accident? If it was the other party and you have medical reports to prove that your suffering is because of the accident, then their insurance should pay for it. Whiplash can take a long time to correct, depending on the severity of it and the side effects you have becaues of it. Have you had scans done to make sure there's nothing else going on? Maybe try another physio who takes a different approach.
