Have you tried them stuffed cooked in both a lamb/tomato base and alternatively a yoghurt base? I have been known to grate them into a carrot and date cake. Made it nice and moist.

They say he was in protective custody, i.e. being checked on every 30 mins. Did the check involve making sure he had nothing that could cause harm? Rather sloppy from the prison authorities... Can't imagine how the victims feel now that justice will never be done. Yes I was thinking that too. He should not have had as much as a sheet!!

My mother had regular migraines for 20 years or so, in the end she saw a hypnotist who taught her self-hypnosis. She was, and still is to some extent, a tense person. After she mastered the self hynosis, which didn't take long, she never suffered from them again. If she ever feels a headache coming on, she does her relaxation thing and it goes away. Not saying yours might be the same as hers, but it's food for thought.

Hmmm, although one of the victims said in court she hopes he stays suffering in prison the rest of his life as he made her suffer for 15 (or something) years. Hopefully there'll be sweet justice on the other side.

Thanks for your input ladies. I'm wondering if I can kind of do both? The masters is 2x3 hour lectures a week for two years. The Bachelors, of course is fulltime over 3 years. But I'm wondering if I can do the masters and do one subject in the Bachelors. Basically I want to get somewhere in my work arena, I currently work for Auditors, but can branch out, I'm sure with a Masters in Psychology. It just opens the way a little more. But in the long run I'd like to do something in the psychology arena. It fascinates me. (being a nut-job n all :D )

Thanks ladies for the ideas. I don't think she has nightmares, just particularly clingy at the moment. That book sounds good Mrs O, although I may have to have a look at it before I go reading it to her. Kids are so complex!! I ended up sleeping on a mattress next to their bed last night, we all got a better sleep, but I do prefer my own bed, I must say!

Izzy and Daza you are both right respectively. The light is on, so that's sorted, but I need to make sure she isn't exposed to anything potentially scary. and one on one, yes. I'm working fulltime now and I think she misses me. She is tenderhearted, unlike her twin who couldn't care less!! My only worry is setting a precedent that she sleeps in our bed every night!! She kept me up half the night with her movements and then her sister woke up at about 3am asking where she was and feeling jealous that she was with mummy and daddy!! So then I ended up sleepin in bed with the two of them. Needless to say I'm exhausted. I'm thinking maybe I need to sleep on a mattress on the floor next to their bed and over several weeks move it (and myself) slowly further and further away, till I'm out the door, down the hall, into the lounge and eventually back into my own bed!! The layout of the villa is different to the apartment we were in. Our bedrooms are separated by a foyer, a dining room and a loungeroom, whereas in the apartment we were right next to each other, but it's been months in this new place and this has only recently been occuring.

We moved into this old villa about 4 months ago and yes the AC is very loud in their room, but this has just been happening in the last 2 weeks. I know the maid has them watching cartoons, which they've never watched before, like Scooby Doo. It seems pretty benign but they do go on about ghosts and things. I wonder if this is what it is related to. I ask her all the time and she just says she wants to be with mummy and that she wants the light on. Never specifies anything.

My smallest twin didn't reach 8 kilos till she was about 2 years old!! She's now 5 and only 13 kilos. But she's healthy, just a skinny, lean kid. On the other hand, my sister in law's 18 month old is 18 kilos, which is the same weight as my other 5 year old twin!!! As long as your baby seems healthy, is eating well and not poorly, I wouldn't worry too much. Just my humble opinion

My Dr wrote on a piece of paper supplements that I could try to help with my insomnia. L-Tryptophan, 5HTP and GABA. Never heard of Gaba, and he's hard to get a hold of for clarification. The only reference I could come up with when I googled was Gabapentin. What do you think? Could it be something else?

Thanks for your replies. CCG, I've never been tested for these disorders you've mentioned and wouldn't know where to start!! I'm contemplating going to a sleep center like tattler suggested, but i'm sure insurance wouldn't cover it. If anyone out there has recommendations, I'm all ears. I've slept with a mask and ear plugs since the age of 11 and always took hours to fall asleep, even with those aids. I'm thinking of trying hypnotherapy and CBT. Did you have these here CCG? Any recommendations? Your explanation about the melatonin was spot on it seems, I had a bout of rebound insomnia. In the meantime I'm taking V, (which I've slowly cut down by half after having been taking it for only a week - I plan on cutting it slowly off over the next week). I've started SJW, and been back on Melatonin for the last 10 days or so. Once I'm off the V, and if I still have problems, do you think we could meet somewhere and I borrow one sample of the supplement you're talking about? I'd be so grateful. I'm sleeping like a baby now but that's because of the V. hopefully by the time I'm off it, my sleep pattern (if you could call it that!!) will be back to 'normal' :/ <em>edited by Ginnee on 25/08/2013</em>

I second the charcoal capsules - they're like magic :). But don't take them at the same time as taking other meds, they will render them useless, as they suck it all up and it gets eliminated (this is why they use charcoal for drug overdoses) just take them four hours or so either side of other meds. But maybe you should also talk to your Dr.

Anti-depressants without being looked at by the pharmacist like you're a drug addict!! and insurance to cover depressive illness. and pure vanilla essence. *like* - Ginnee I stock up like crazy when I go back to the UK on vanilla extract. Hey you know you can make your own with v0dka and vanilla pods (altho for obvious religious reasons this is not an option for all) Yeah, I'm muslim, so no liquor licence for me :)

Yes, they do check the face type of skin and take the product line that is needed... i would say give them a call as they have more information definitly than me.. and btw, they do callus treatment too.. good luck and let us know what you end up trying and how was it!! Thanks, will ph them :-)

I did a bit of research and found that vitamin b complex has a calming effect.I get Neurobion. I use a myriad of natural remedies as well as prescription meds as I suffer chronic depression. I did find since the introduction of the vit B I feel less anxious. I wonder if aromatherapy might help too - there's a great place in JLT which sells all 100% oils and they can advise you on which ones have the calming effect.

YOU CANNOT FUDGE THIS RECIPE - I made 3 different types and this was the best and easiest - a monkey could make this and not muck it up - It literally took a maximum of 10 minutes. You could flavour it with anything, mint, irish cream, add macadamia nuts to it. It was sooooo easy and sooooo decadent: Super Easy Chocolate Fudge Ingredients •1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk •1 (12 oz bag) semi sweet chocolate chips (I used all semi sweet ch chips as I like mine dark, didnt use the milk ch chips) •1 cup milk chocolate chips •¼ cup butter •1 tsp vanilla Instructions 1.Line a 9 x 9 inch pan with aluminum foil and grease with butter. Set aside. 2.In a large sauce pan, add the condensed milk, chocolate chips, and butter. Cook over low heat, stirring often to avoid burning. Cook until mixture is melted and well combined. 3.Remove from heat and add vanilla; stir until combined. 4.Pour mixture into the prepared pan. Tap few times to remove air bubbles. 5.Place in the refrigerator to set for at least 2 hours. 6.When set, remove from pan using the foil and cut into pieces. 7.Store fudge in fridge for long storage. Just remove from fridge an hour or so before serving to soften.

I know, I know!! I'm a sweet freak although I hardly ever make them for myself. I was given several cans of evaporated milk which were sitting in my office about to go past their use-by date, so I took them home, made fudge and brought most of it back to the office. They were most happy to say the least!! I went by the recipe, where the majority of them say to test it with the thermometer till it reaches 120 celcius, but it wasn't enough. Was peeved to say the least until I have my brainwave (a rare happening :) )

There seems to be a good recipe on the Nestle web site. The topping is made of semolina rubbed in Ghee and fried slightly, I think. I love Knefe too (Beiruti Pronounciation!!) but you can't ever beat the one you buy in Beirut, sometimes I bring it vacuum sealed and freeze it once I get home!!

Dangerously addictive :) thats true. since Ramadan my family had this 6 times and still I am thinking to make it again on coming Friday :D Oh my gosh!!! I haven't had it for a long time now because once I start, I can't stop. with my 4 ft 11 frame I can't afford to gain weight, I already have 2 kg's to lose after Ramadan!!

Laimoona, I looked at feel pink, but it wasnt very clear. do they do a consultation and then do the facial as per your skin type/needs? This is what I'm looking for.

The only thing I can think of is that your 5jumbo croissants weren't jumbo enough. Its also a matter of personal taste, some like it runny and others don't. You could eye-ball it to a certain extent and add an extra half a croissant and see if the mixture seems lessrunny. U can usually tell to a certain extent before u put it in the oven.

Thanks ladies for your replies. I'm on melatonin, but ran out and failed to get a new bottle in time, this is the reason I ended up not sleeping for about 5 days!! I'm back on it, but even after 5 days of being on it, i'm still not getting any sleep. The dr put me on something substantial (wont name it here). Anyway I've asked him about the supplements you talked about CCG, and he said give it a try. So as soon as I can source some, I will. I know you can get L-tryptophan here, but phenibut is going to be a challenge. 5 HTP, is that no St Johns Wort? I have some in my fridge, unused. I also heard about magnesium citrate, my Dr poo-pooed it, but said it wont hurt to try it. I'm going to try them all!!! This Z-12 that you get from the states, does it work straight away or do you have to be on it for a while to kick in? The reason I ask, if it's fast-acting, is it possible to borrow 1 tablet from you to give it a try before I go importing it? Don't be shy to say no!! But no harm in asking!! As for Chamomile tea, warm milk, valerian etc, yes, for me they are like giving water to an alcoholic. I wish they worked but they don't!! I've been an insomniac all my life and I'm now 42. My earliest memory is beggin my mother to sew black curtains to keep the light out of the bedroom, and then my absolute joy at the age of 11 to learn that you could buy ear plugs, which I've been wearing in my ears since then every single night. And a sleep mask - can't live without it. I once stayed somewhere where I'd forgotten my ear plugs - nowhere to buy any. luckily I found chewing gum and glad wrap - chewed the gum, wrapped it and stuck it in my ears!! Otherwise I would not have slept!! It's an horriffic problem. I had two days off because of it, because I had literally slept maybe 6 or 7 hours in a space of 6 days. My body was so weak I could hardly lift my fingers to type and I was worried about driving. And yet my eyes were wide open, no yawning, nothing,. Wide awake from the neck up but feeling jet-lagged from the neck down. Uggghhhh. Thank God for certain meds, but I'm going to have to slowly wean myself off them over the next two weeks (done it successfully dozens of times in my life), but hoping to find another solution by then :(
