Do you mean a cargo barrier? If so, Nissan should be able to supply them or I saw them occasionally at Yellow Hat.

I know very, very little on the topic but I do have some friends with snoring CKC spaniels. The vet has told them that the dogs snore more than 'usual' (one literally out-snores my husband and that's really saying something!) because they are overweight. How's your dog's waistline? Does she have one? Sleeping in the bedroom if you don't want her there is all about leadership and training. It's possible to get her to sleep elsewhere without soiling the house if you make sure she know's who's the boss. ;)

GQ is right in that it's only legal for her to work for her visa sponsor. I also doubt you'll find someone willing to pay for all of the sponsorship costs and provide all of the other things legally required (flights home, health card, food etc etc) if she's only able to work part-time. I'm sure there would also be some legal issue with part-time sponsored work as each country has a minimum accepted monthly salary for her visa to be granted. With a 100K fine now in place for 'illegal' maids, it's not a risk many are willing to take any more. (not to mention that the lady would be jailed then deported if caught working illegaly) I hope you find a solution that works for her. <em>edited by Green-ish on 08/03/2011</em>

Gorobattie...if it's not too late, can I suggest you somehow find a way to get in a taxi and go to look at DSO\? Where your villa is may have a big impact on how long the walk is to groceries etc. Some villas have small supermarkets quite close, some are quite a hike...a factor to consider especially with little ones in tow. DSO is lovely, clean, pretty, villas are well built and reasonably well maintained (not so much if you're not with EK), pools are nice...public transport is ok, it's all main roads to go anywhere. I don't live there anymore so will keep my mouth shut on the factors I didn't like. (I'm well aware the things I didn't like about it were partly because we were not with EK and that things may have changed a lot since we left) I think you really need to see it to decide. Awful, unfair time-line they've given you. Maybe one of the lovely ladies who lives there could meet you and show you around?

I was doing the shread and decided just to do the treadmill thing at home and after just a month, have started doing 5k a day. For some reason I've put on three pounds in the last week (am seriously upset :( and I need to loose 3.5 stone) but I can see the difference. More importantly I feel sooo much better. Do you ladies plan on training for any specific event? Yay Nobbles! 5km a day is awesome! CT would be the expert to ask, but I think the whole point of the shred is to mix it up and keep challenging your body. I understand that once your body gets used to a particular program of exercise, it's common to see periods of no weight-loss or even small gains. Maybe try something different (longer session or shorter but more intense or add some other exercise???) to see if that makes a difference for you? Don't give up!! ;)

Hi girls! :) I'm flat out here (in Aus) so not getting to check in as often as I would like. I have started Week One again after too many distractions. First run last night and it felt awesome. I am appropriately sore today. :D I'm so glad I have a podcast to run with. I have downloaded a different one to that mentioned by buttonmoon, but it's working for me. I like having a 'running partner' along the way to keep me going. SO much better than when I did this technology-free ten years ago and I had to try to read my watch the whole way for stopping and starting runs. My short term goal is the 10km run of the Gold Coast Marathon festival (July 2011 - http://www.goldcoastmarathon.com.au/default.asp?PageID=14470 ) and next year the half-marathon (21km) at the same event. If I can do that and successfully juggle my life as it is at the moment, I'll be one happy girl! Buttonmoon...I did a spin class, ONCE, when I was quite fit (a LOOOOONG time ago) and so nearly threw up that I never did another one! ;) CycloneT...can't wait to see you over here. :D Not sure I could run over there in the Summer, but no doubt the Shred will have you fit and ready for it. My shred DVD has arrived :D , but I'm determined to finish this program so I'll start shredding some time down the track.

...I would suggest you get both neutered asap if not already. Watch you are not overfeeding re protein and look at the individual dogs issues separately rather than looking at them as siblings. I have homed male litter mates with no issues and would suggest it is far more to do with the fact that you have two dogs the same age who are still need educating and are just being kids combined with natural inherited breed traits. *LIKE*!! Excellent advice on neutering and looking at them individually when dealing with them. I know many people who have raised litter mates and none of them have had more than the 'average' puppy problems (which, there is no doubt, can sometimes seem never-ending ;) ).

in a large sauce pan boil about 1.5 - 2l of water and add chicken boullion cubes (2 Knorr or Maggi) and a tablespoon or more of garlic powder. Get about 1kg of beef liver and cut into 1/2 inch slices - drop in the chicken boullion - poach for about 5 min - remove slices from boullion (save it though, I actually let it reduce for about another 15 - 20 minutes - my dog loves a spoonful or two on her dry food as a treat) Cut the slices into strips (so you should have long strips about 1/2 inch around) put in a low oven (about 250F maybe a little hotter) - let them dry roast for about 1/2 hour until dry but not too brittle - then chop into 1/2 inch cubes - they can be frozen. This makes a lot of treats - my cats love them too. My supermarket sells beef liver as a combo with kidneys and hearts which I also give the same treatment. This recipe is **** for non-liver likers in your house (I love liver myself so the handling of the meat and the smell is not a problem for me) as the smell is quite strong edited by marycatherine on 13/02/2011 I used to just dry roast the raw liver on baking paper. Is there a reason why you cook it first? To be honest, I'd be worried about all of the salt in the stock cubes too. Completely agree about the smell though!! Definitely do it on a day you can leave the doors and windows open. I can't think of much worse than getting that smell through the AC! ;)

I'll have to get back on it in a few days. My herniated disc is acting up again. Just a question - can you do cardio every day? I still want to go on the treadmill for about 30-45 minutes if I can't do any weight bearing for a while. I'm hoping you've sought medical advice before starting (any) new program, given your back problem? :) So sorry you're in pain. From my understanding of this program, if truly starting from "the couch" then you are supposed to have rest days (ie nothing more than a walk) between program training days. The theory being that it's better to rest and have long term success than to overdo it and either burn out way too early or suffer an injury. Only you know your current fitness level and what your body can cope with.

Hmmm...Might re-start after the weekend when the girls start kindy/daycare two days a week (eeeeek!) so at least 2 of the 3 days I can be on my own. :D

Monnie, search commercial agents online - Raine and Horne, Kings, Ray White Commercial, Lend Lease, they are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. Get em ALL through your property and pick the ones you think are most on the ball. [b'>Get hold of the ombudsman/regulator too.[/b'> Go GIRL! I second that! Here's the link to the Ombudsman's site...however, they don't deal with Real Estate agents (there is a link on the site for REIQ who does). http://www.ombudsman.qld.gov.au/AboutUs/OurOffice/AgenciesIssuesoutsideourJurisdiction.aspx Since "Ozzie Opportunities" is appears an overseas based company, REIQ might be able to tell you what legal recourse you have, if any. I also agree you should contact as many commercial leasing agents as possible. The development seems to be in a genuinely good location so I can't imagine why it hasn't leased in all of this time (assuming acceptable lease conditions etc) Good luck!!! <em>edited by Green-ish on 09/02/2011</em>

I even started to feel that 'addiction' that true runners talk about. I hope that ten years later I get the same feeling and don't just feel OLD! :D

Day 5 level 1 done. I'm so pleased I got it out of the way nice and early :D and I'm going to try really hard not to miss a day again, as I felt it was harder today having missed yesterday. Just one question about abs. My stomach muscles never joined back together after I had DS and my dr says I'll need surgery to rejoin them once I'm done having babies. Can I still do the abs? I feel like my tummy sticks out even more now than it did before I started the Shred! Hi DC. :) I second CT's advice to see a GP and he/she will probably recommend you see a physio. I think Sally-Ann Spencer is amazing!! I didn't do enough about my diastasis after my first two pregnancies so I really suffered some through the second and A LOT through the third. Without that core strength, everything else has to work so much harder just to do basic movements so add the stress of another pregnancy and it's very, very uncomfortable. Sally-Ann knows what she's doing and gave me really good tips and exercises to keep myself relatively comfortable through the pregnancy. Oh how I wish I'd seen her soon after baby #1 and been stronger for the subsequent bubbas. http://www.physiotherapycentredubai.com/

See your deck of cards... King outranks the Queen... So, sizes are different in the world! But I can tell you the OZ sizes: 90 x 200 = Single 120 x 200 = Double 150 x 200 = Queen 180 x 200 = King I have seen King Single and Super King there, but they are not common. Easiest thing is to buy the bed and sheets by dimension. The sheets I buy here in Debenhams marked as Queen, fit my OZ Queen bed @150 x 200. Hope this helps?? So I have a bed that is 200x200 so what is that called - apart from big hahaha Super King in Dubai...but yes, BIG. :)

Ok, really really daft question alert, but it's my first, so please bear with me! What is this toilet obsession? Once your waters break, does rocking on it help? Is there a correct way to do it? I just don't wanna topple over... lol LOL! I think it's a very individual thing AND different for each pregnancy too. My first I just wanted to lie down, my second I had to be walking, my third it was the exercise ball and one particular chair. The need for the toilet for me was only about the rush of 'waters'. ;) A toilet though is just about the right height and with the lid down, a pretty solid, comfy seat while your body goes SQUEEEEEEEEEZE :D

She said they were well aware of the approaching storm, that they last talked to neighbours a couple of days ago who were all preparing their homes to ride out the storm. It's only the evac call they missed which I can imagine would easily happen in those more sparsely populated areas. Anway, all they can do now is to ride it out.

It's a baby chicken, ome idiots at DH work bought it to feed their python!!! DH took it out the cage......it's just chirping all the time unless I hold it..... What do you expect Pythons to eat? Chicks and live mice are the norm. Chicks that small very rarely survive more than a few days. Live feeding is cruel. Pet pythons should be fed with dead animals that have been humanely killed.

Bed it on something like a towel...not slippery like newspaper. keep it warm. Until you can get to a vet or produce place for feed, give it water with a little sugar dissolved in it. You *can* feed some hard boiled egg yolk if it's only a few days old.

My friend in Bowen has been saying all day that it's really just been "very windy"...Anna Bligh saying a little while ago that parts of the coast up there have been strangely calm all day. Prayers going their way tonight. Their apartment block will flood and they are in grave danger.

I feel the need to stand up for K9 friends. You did not "rescue" them from K9. K9 rescued them from whatever situation they were in and gave them food, shelter, medical care and love. K9 also trusted that they had a life-long home with you. Believe me, I understand from personal experience that circumstances change and we can't always keep that lifelong promise...but your wording is really disrespectful of the amazing work K9 Friends does. I do hope the animals find lovely new homes. Good luck.
