Hi millymoo, it went really well and is definitely the best money I ever spent. Very very pleased with it. I truly didn't find the recovery painful at all, was just a bit uncomfortable in the early days with everything stuffed up and around my nose, as it was difficult to breathe and eat etc. I had mine done with Dr Saab at CosmeSurge and i agree, best money ever spent. But my goodness the recovery was painful! And to 'learn' to breathe theough your mouth LOL it was quite something.

Thanks Angie Mar. Went to Bumble Bee today and they did have the Airwrap but unfortunately not the one that suits my cot :( I bought the one they had though thinking I might be able to make it work, but it won't work. So if anyone is looking for an Airwrap, I have one to suit a cot that has slats on all 4 sides. Im interested onthemoveagain, what are the measurements? DS's cotbed is 70x140 - if its the same, im happy to buy it. Please let me know.

Hello! Im still on maternity leave, going back next month. Did you get a nanny? We've enrolled DS into a nursery. In-laws are coming for a month, followed by mum for a month, so he starts nursery in Mid-July. DS also doing brilliantly although his night time sleep has gone to @&£! Im desperately trying to get him back into his routine but not pushing the impossible either. We've managed to get him to only wake twice last and the night before, so will keep at it and hopefully we get the hours we had from him in no time. I see you are also following EASY and Cecile ... So are we! Im on the 4hr schedule at the moment and DS fell into it quickly. He has gone from a cat-napper to having full blown naps (yesterday first nap 1.45hr, second nap 2hrs) so im happy about that. I do struggle to get him to nap at 5pm though, he seems to know its too late in the day. But that means that he's been awake for 4hrs+ come bath time. It's a struggle LOL but im sure we'll figure it out. So glad all is well with you. We should arrange a play date some time - our babies are only a few days apart!

This sounds like an odd question but I am hearing more and more stories of women here having miscarriages or unable to fall pregnant for a long time and I am wondering if it has something to do with Dubai or is it merely because I am at the age where my peers are all married/long term relationships and I will hear such stories. bit of a sensitive issue really, not sure it's something many people want to talk about... Why not? People come on here and talk about this kind of thing all the time. It's a valid question I agree. I think if we talked about it more often (when we are ready) it may just remove the stigma attached to miscarriages or even the thought/ fear that "there is something wrong with me". I had 3 miscarriages over a period of 3 years. I couldnt bear the thought of falling pregnant immediately after for fear of another miscarriage hence the timeline. Of course, that didnt help because the following year i had another and the following year another. I was on the brink of depression and lost interest in the physical side of things too. If i had a support group or someone to talk to i would have been able to deal with it much better than i did. My family didnt know how to deal with it and i got the most awkward messages from people. There are very few people who even know about the third miscarriage for this very reason. I was tested for everything under the sun and all results came back negative ( a good thing). I am older (turn 40 this year) but that had nothing to do with it. Eventually i was again tested for blood clotting and was put on medication for preventative measures. I fell pregnant, was high risk all the way, and delivered a beautiful baby boy in January! Was it the meds or just this little one's perserverance? I dont know but im glad i didnt give up trying. The road was long and hard and very very sad but im better because of it.

I was looking to get a doula with my first as my mom wouldnt be able to make it and my husband and I were kinda clueless but the nursing staff at city is so awesome, I never once felt lost or confused or not listened to. Not that the doulas don't do a great job, but city was the best option for me so I couldn't switch. Couldnt agree more. The nursing staff at City are fantastic and i felt so at ease. All my questions were answered, i was never treated like 'a first time mother' and they knew when to up the humour too!

Hi uhad83, My 4 month old's sleeping has gone out the window too. He used to sleep up to 12hrs some nights, now, he wakes every 2 to 3 hours! I would nurse him back to sleep every time. Ive read about sleep regression, that he is losing sleep due to developmental changes (he started rolling over) and all sorts of things. Apparently its supposed to last a week or so. Last night i was reading an article about babies getting used to being fed every time they wake and it becoming a habit whether they are hubgry or not so DH and i decided to try something else. DS's first stir, DH went in and shhh'd him for about 10mins, he fell asleep without a feed and woke up 3hrs later when i did feed him. 2,5 hrs later he was up again and we ignored him. He wasnt crying, just moaning, dont know for how long, but he fell asleep again without a feed. He then woke up at 430am and i fed him. So all in all only 2 feds last night without much incident. I am going to be strict with his naps today ( DS only catnaps - 45mins per time), and am going to really push for a longer nap in the afternoon and then do the same tonight. Hopefully that helps. DS is ebf and only takes one breast per feed - 5-7mins and he is done. I am also going to change that today - going to offer him both breasts at every feed to see if that makes a difference. Perhaps he isnt getting enough calories during the day and makes up for it at night ...? I dont know! Its trial and error. HTH and good luck! If you find something that works, please share it.

Massive congratulations! I cannot recommend Dr George enough. I had a high risk pregnancy and was sent to him for my 20 and 32 week scans, he is an amazing man. I loved him so much that i arranged with my obgyn to get Dr George as back-up in case she couldnt be around on the day of my ds's delivery.

Hi Naazdxb, i went through exactly what you are going through now. I was told i have inverted nipples and that breastfeeding was going to be very difficult, if not impossible. I used breast shields for many weeks. Then another poster on this forum said something interesting ... It is breastfeeding, not nipple feeding. Makes sense, right? Anyway, i got a midwife from Healthbay Poly Clinic to spend 2 days with me ( they do home visits) and i am happy to say that DS is turning 4 months this weekend and is still exclusively breastfed! Phone any clinic and ask for a lactation consultant to come and see you. You pay for it, so ask ask ask as many questions until you are satsfied ... These ladies are amazing and will support you all the way. With every feed, try the breast first. Squeeze your areola in the shape of your baby's mouth and bring your baby to your breast. So, if baby is lying on his side with his mouth vertical, then squeeze your areola vetically to fit into his mouth. If he changes position, then squeeze your areola accordingly. Im looking for my thread on this topic and will post it when i find it. The ladies on this forum was so helpful and encouraging. Stick to it, and get help, it is SO worth it. Good luck! X

Hi scottishgal4, I wanted a white room for my ds, so was lucky to find a changing table at ikea. Like you, i didnt like the ones where you'd be changing your baby from the side, so to speak. Have a look at the link. The changing bit has an extension so its longer as what it appears in this picture. You can then later remove it if you wanted to to make it a stand alone cabinet-thing. http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/S29828090/ Alternatively you can try jumeirah carpentry, they've made some furniture, and a gate, for us and their work is outstanding. Thanks ladies. JackyD, i've just put a rolled up towel by his side and stood at the door giggling as i could see and HEAR his frustration trying to launch himself over it. I had to go in twice to reposition it, but he is asleep now, on his side! I thought id experiment during daytime so i am not that anxious in the evening. Thanks again x

Although we are very proud of our son's new found ability, it is keeping us up at night and just seems to be so uncomfortable for him. Even daytime naps are challenging. He rolls over and starts to cry. One of us has to turn him back again just for ds to roll over again. Its a viscious circle.im scared of putting anything in his bed (towel, wedge etc). I increased tummy time so as to 'teach' him to roll back onto his back but until he can do it ... Any advice?

No luck and it breaks me heart the amount of milk that is going to waste :( We had one almost there moment when i fed DS, released the latch and gave him the bottle. DH was leaning over him making noises, so he was focusing on that, sucked and finished approx 20mls. Today ... Scream scream scream. :(

2 months ago i asked a similar question on this board. My mum, bless her, kept telling me that i was spoiling my baby by rocking him etc. sure he got too heavy eventually so we did sleep training (luckily only 3days and ds slept on his own) but im so glad i didnt listen to mum. DS battles with afternoon naps and when it gets too much, i let him sleep on my chest. Am i spoiling him, i dont think so and i actually dont care. We've waiting VERY long for our child and i want to enjoy every minute with him.

No matter which teat you use, it will feel different than breastfeeding. Rather than switching teats to - it might be easier for him to get used to it by having the same teat each time no matter which one it is? Good point. Im buying the breast-flow ones today and will then stick to one. Thanks ladies!

Day 3 and still nothing. We have now tried at different times of the day, inbetween meals, just after, just before, you name it. We've tried different types of bottles and teats too. Thanks again to all of you for your advice. I was a bit worried about trying before a feed because DS gets so upset on top of being hungry and then i'm not supposed to offer the breast afterwards ...? So we tried to soothe him as best as possible and take his mind off being hungry (if thats at all possible) before i would then offer him the breast. Hopefully i didnt mess that one up. I'll pop in at babyshop today for the breastflow ones, as they're the only ones we havent tried yet. Dubaicat, i dont have a shop and ship account so may just take you up on your offer, thank you.. I have your old email address, i think it may have changed as you no longer work, right? Thanks again ladies x edited by ilovewine on 30/03/2012

Thanks for your replies ladies. Day 2 and still nothing. Yesterday DH wrapped the bottle in the nursing bra that i wore and this morning he held yesterday's t-shirt. We dont offer the breast afterwards so thats a good thing. We usually try the bottle inbetween feeds. And, yes, we also decided not to try at night. Im lucky because DH is on leave at the moment, so we have this and next week to try during the day. Thereafter im going home for 3 weeks so i suppose grannys can try then, right? Or will that throw him off further? Good idea about different positions, thanks. DH sits in my breastfeeding chair whilst trying, I'll tell him to do it somewhere else. I use frozen expressed milk. Defrost it overnight in the fridge, then use a little bit at a time. We discard what is not used. (we learnt the hard way, and being new parents we didnt know, because the first try we thought DS is going take the bottle so defrosted 150ml and had to throw it all away!) We'll perservere. Thanks for taking the time to respond x

My ds is almost 3 months old and we want to give him expressed milk with a bottle. Just a little freedom for me and getting dh to do the dreamfeed. Also in preparation for when he goes to nursery in july. Did we wait too long? We tried avent, mams teats and tommy tippy but he wants nothing to do with it LOL my dh gives him the bottle because we read i shouldnt. Any tips on what to do and how to do it? Any advice highly appreciated. TIA Eta: we dont try giving the bottle when ds is hungry, we try it before naps etc. i also need advice re: the milk. When we try and ds doesnt take it, can i keep that bottle in the fridge for the next try or not? edited by ilovewine on 27/03/2012

My ds is 2 months. He sleeps like a dream at night yet during the day he hardly sleeps for 30 minutes at a time. Longest nap being 45 minutes. Is this normal? No amount of rocking, bouncing, singing, etc seems to help. It throws out his eating schedule too, so we're all over the place at the moment.

Sleepy, i have a brand new box that you can have. We bought it for our puppy but she is so good in the car, with her Iittle seatbelt, that we have never used it. Have a look at this link, second box from the bottom "trixie" something. Im not sure about the size though but a medium size cat/dog will fit in comfortably for a trip to the vet. http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/dogs/dog_cages_carriers/travel_bags Im on maternity leave and bound by ds's movements so you'll have to come collect, if you dont mind. Let me know if you're interested so i can post my details for you.

Our midwife suggested that we get something for ds to sleep in sometimes, as he only sleeps in his bed. Dh and i were looking at it for letting ds sleep in the family room etc some times (during the day). Im a new mum, so apologies if its a silly question. Tia

Hi gauri, my ds is 7 weeks old and im also exclusively breastfeeding. Im not sure about breastfeeding rooms etc but i found baby shops to be very accommodating. I was in mothercare when it was time for ds to feed and they made the fitting room available for me. Not ideal, but i preferred that over the public washrooms. I have fed ds in starbucks too. Just pick a quiet corner, cover up and go for it. People did not even give me a second glance. Enjoy your outings, im still taking it slow too!
