I think it is hard to sell baby clothes, people usually get lots of them as gifts. Also during the babyshop sale and Lulu, Red Tag sell them so cheap that I personally wouldn't bother with second hand.

The driving in Canada is generally nice, except in Toronto. I really hate the 401. It is the busiest highway in North America and you can bump into traffic jumps there even on Sunday. Rental prices in Toronto are very high, and many houses are very old. I had a terrible experience there. House full of rats, humidity, etc. It is better to live in the outskirts.

Thanks ladies for your replies. It makes me feel more at easy as I think I can handle it. I already have some lady that comes and cleans and my husband will be at home with me for 2 weeks, plus he is self employed so if needed he can reduce his normal hours.

Thinking of buying a Quinny Zapp xtra stroller for my newborn. Any reviews please?. I thought it was light, easy to push, etc, but dont know how practical and durable it will be. Also, we are planning to do some traveling by plane next year, so the stroller needs to be practical for traveling.

I went through a variety of bath options, we didn't give our baby his first bath until he was around 10 days old and I then bathed him in a tummy-tub , basically a bucket with a molded base that they sit in in fetal postion, he liked it but I found it a bit awkward. We had been given one of those baths with the molded bottom but when my mum arrived she went out and bought the bigger mothercare one with the foam insert and showed me the best way to hold him which is to put your left hand (if you are right handed) under his neck and shoulder and grips his right arm at the top (so he is supported by your wrist and forearm) you then have one hand free to wash the baby and he can't wriggle away.) You can keep this grip and use your other arm when lifting him in and out. You need a very warm room, I always bathed him (born August) on the balcony outside so he was nice and warm and also got a good dose of vitamin D via sunlight. I put the bath on the outdoor table, you don't tend to have spillage because they don't wriggle much as a newborn but a table top is ideal if, like me you end up having a c-section (and probably saves your back either way). Before the bath lays some towels down to pop your baby on afterwards for some nudey time and massage. Also lay out everything you'll need (ie change of clothes, nappy, towels) Mine always liked being bathed but some feel a bit exposed, a warm wet facecloth on their chest during the bath can be comforting (I guess it feels a bit like a hand on them) To wash him we used a soft sponge (can buy from baby shops) and only ever used cetaphil to wash him, no shampoos or lotions and def nothing perfumed. Actually the balcony idea seems good, but I am on the ground floor and people will be able to see us!

I bathed my baby in the bathroom sink, she was tiny and she hated to be undressed and bathed. So, even though I had a baby bath, filling it up for the whole 30 seconds she was in it was not worth it. When she got bigger I bathed with her in the big bath and we both grew to love the special time. If space is an issue I have seen fold away baby baths in JustKidding, they are the same as a conventional bath but fold flat when you are not using it. I dont have sapce problems, it is the counter in the bathroom that is not big enough to put a tub on top. If you use the bathroom sink, how do you prevent the baby from hitting the faucet?.

It all depends on what you're comfortable with actually. Some have bathed their babies in the kitchen sink (I never did but common practice back home). I bought a baby bath tub from mothercare but also bought one of those mesh loungers for the bath as well. I preferred the mesh lounger because then I didn't worry about having the baby slip away from me when wet. I put the tub on the bathroom floor or in the actual adult tub. One he got a little too long for the baby bath I just put the mesh lounger in the adult bath. so, when you put the tub on the floor , how do you manage?, do you sit on the floor?.

Next to the Mazyad Mall in MBZ city, there are some hotels apartments, I think called "Vision", and they charge 8K per month for a 2-bed furnished, the apartments have nice finishes and lots of free parking outside.

I am expecting a baby boy in September, and I will have to go back to work after 2 months. I dont think anyone from our families can help after that :( I have been really thinking on what to do, and I think I decided to go for a nursery, unless I get a nanny that has worked for someone I know which can be hard. My colleages (local ladies) had recommended me a nursery close to work where they accept babies and they are always open and the hours are similar to ours. They seem to be happy about that choice as they do not trust any maid/nanny. So, I would like to hear from working moms that have babies in nurseries. Good and bad experiences. Thank you

One of friends is going to have her baby shower the day we are going on holidays, I really wanted to go and buy something nice for the baby. Should I send her a gift with someone to the baby shower, or go to her house after/before the shower and give her the gift, or wait till the baby is born??.

I just bought some pants/skirts size 8 at M&S. They are not maternity, but they have elastic which I think are more comfortable, and they are reasonable priced and good to wear for the office.

The apartments at Park Rotana Complex are very nice, there's a large swimming pool and a small gym. Last I heard, they were about 140,000, however, prices are coming down all the time. Still going for 140K!

For 100K you wont get anything nice. You could only get a 2-bed apartment in MBZ city in the etihad compound but it is hard to get as they are very popular, otherwise you expected to expect at least 130K for a nice one. Or an apartment in a villa in Khalifa city but I dont know how good nice they are.

My pants are the same style. I just leave them opened and unzip as my belly is getting bigger. I use the belly band to keep the pants from falling down. I could not find a belly band my size (in AD) so I had to make one by cutting the legs of some legging shorts, you may have more luck finding your size in Dubai. This place Nojo in Mina center AD has small sizes, but the prices are steep. I cannot justify paying 300+ dhs for pants I would only wear for 4 months. Style Studio has small sizes as I bought one there and only 70 dhs, the problem is that I dont like the style (front panel) but you may. Good luck, and if you find some please let me know as I am still looking.

I am 21 weeks and still looking as nobody seems to carry small sizes. I have to use a belly band to use my regular pants unziped. If you are medium/large size I have seen some at Mothercare, Maxx, and Style Studio, I think they have a branch in Lancy Plaza. In Abu Dhabi I have seen at Madinat Zayed at 9 months (price around 100 dhs), Nojo at Mina Center (price around 300 dhs), and also at Mazyad mall they have some maternity office pants from Turkey (price around 100 dhs).

Go to Debenhams or Marks & Spencers or H&M or Zara or Massimo Dutti or any of the ohter 100 clothes' stores and buy the next size than what you normally wear ..... or the next.... should do the trick. I tried that and ended up looking like I'd raided my husband's wardrobe, and the clothes were still tight on my belly. Sometimes you do really need bits that were made for a pregnant belly - bigger sizes are just meant for bigger people! :D I agree, plus my belly is the one growing, my hips are not growing much. I dont look pregnant from behind. I am wearing the belly band with my regular pants but it is not that comfortable. I actually had to make it myself since I could not find a belly band my size.
