They have some fab little ones at Galleries Lafayette. Very easy to fill, you just atomise straight into the canister. OH was so impressed when I brought one home, that he asked me to get him some for his multitude of colognes. [b'>I now have about 5 of them and are fab for small handbags. [/b'>[u'>[/u'>They're on the pay counter by the lingerie dept, cost about 70 dhs I think. Would these be suitable to carry in your handbag? Thanks Yes, see above :-)

I honestly don't know why these people are being "celebrated" as such. Agree, ban them, take cars away for a few years, put them on intensive driving courses, with proper trainer driving professionals and then have to learn to pass to INTERNATIONAL standards. If they drive without license - jail time - simples, a danger to themselves and everyone on the road!! Thought less My US friend said that speeding fines are linked to his insurance, the more he speeds the higher the insurance costs. Another said they will automatically take the fine from your bank account. Now there is an idea! It is a good idea, I have a company car and any fines are automatically paid by the company, which are then taken out of my salary, no questions asked. Tbh, it's not much a deterrent for me as I don't get fined often.......... but for the people this article is talking about, I'm sure they would certainly think twice at those levels of cost. They beggar belief, they really do.

Kezzler- how much OJ would you add per bottle of wine? It depends on who's drinking it ;-) To be honest, I don't use specific measures, I just add as a sweetener and taste until I'm happy with it, but I would think probably about a 1/3 of a carton. HTH and Happy Mulling :-)

It's really easy to make without the sachets, just add wine, OJ, bit of mixed spice, cinnamon stick, star anise and a splash of brandy and warm through. Yummy :-)

I use my debit card all the time for on-line purchases, I don't have a credit card. I guess it depends on who you bank with, I'm with ENBD and I buy often from UK & US websites either for shipping here or elsewhere. Made a cheeky little purchase just this morning ;-)

Traditional Beef Wellington isn't made with Prosciutto anyway, it's with mushroom duxelles and pate (p*rk, chicken liver, foie gras), with crepes to stop the pastry going soggy. You could substitute the pate with a vegetarian pate. If you google Beef Wellington, there are tons of recipes, but here's a classic one, just replace the pate. HTH. Morning ladies, Was in MOE over the weekend and noticed its been boarded up no idea if they are refurbishing or shut down. Went to Ibn yesterday same thing, all boarded up. I was thinking of popping into Marina Mall this morning so before I make that trip would anyone know if that been boarded up too? TIA They must have read your thread. Just received a text message informing me of their new location on level 1, near cinema in MoE. Me too :-)

Thank you. The problem is the value - I have no idea how much it maybe worth. Its a one off piece that I can't get a comparison on. Thought perhaps an auction house? It really depends on the make, the age, does it have any historical significance, are there any collectors of such items? You've probably tried googling already, but there are specialist vintage clothing auctioneers who may be able to help advise you if you send them an e-mail, eg, http://www.kerrytaylorauctions.com http://www.vintagemodes.co.uk http://www.garboantiques.co.uk/ Alternatively, you could send an e-mail to the brand; most established designer brands have global websites with a contact us facility, perhaps you could try direct with them, to get a feel for the value?

OH is a bit of a health freak and we've recently switched to a water called 'RIM', it's very very low in sodium and is supposed to be very good for you. The website is www.rimwater.com, which gives all of its values and we order the 1.5l bottles from Geant (60 at a time) and it's not much more expensive than the local water.

The comments below the article made me howl. People actually thought this was true It never ceases to amaze me that people really do think this is a bona fide newspaper and have no concept of satire. That being said, I think the comments are what makes the publication even funnier, the fact that people think the stories are real and are stupid enough to comment, even though it is always pointed out that it is satire, makes it all the more amusing ;-)

Magrudy's in DFC closed down quite a while ago now. There is a store in DFC that may stock what you're after, unfortunately I can't for the life in me remember what it's called, but they stock Cross diaries & pens, so they may well stock Filofax accessories as well, sorry I can't be more specific. They also sell small kitchen appliances, if that maybe jogs any other ladies memories for the store name.

Welcome to the club WO, I had mine last month :-) I had the same issue with my OH and Dad and I said to both of them that I would like them to think of something that I can keep forever, that will always remind me of my 'special' day. For me presents aren't about giving a list of things you want, they're about the thought that goes into them. I was very lucky as OH did very well and I got a beautiful Cartier Love bracelet and other bits and bobs. And my Dad did well too and bought me a very pretty bracelet with Aquamarines and little diamonds - seems I don't have enough bracelets (albeit it was too big, so I had a couple of links taken out and the spares made into earrings - matching set and Dad was really pleased at that). I never hinted at anything to either of them, just told them that I would prefer for them to think about getting me something that would mean a lot to both of us, that I can remember forever. A keepsake. I'm sorry if that's not much help, but I really don't like the concept of lists, it should be more about surprise, thought and sentimentality. I hope you have a wonderful birthday, whatever you get.

I went earlier this week and it was pretty busy, something going on in the Saudi camp. From what I could tell everything was open and there was lots happening. What I did like was the new funfair, it reminded me a bit of the film BIG, very Coney Island'esque'. Some of the rides looked really fun, but being a bit of a scaredy cat, I stuck to the more tame ones. There's one which is like a huge set of swings that goes really high in the air, I'm tempted, but will have to build up my courage, I'm not as brave as I used to be. I think all in all you're visitors will enjoy it, especially now the weather's so nice.

was going to post about my absolutely awful experience with NDust - but thought better of it - suffice is to say i would not use them again - the price they charge for the quality of work was outrageous. i will say though, that they do collect and deliver, which is a convenience for which some people are prepared to sacrifice. Really? Gosh, they only charged me 25 dhs. For heel tip replacements, I find Minutes to be the cheapest and most convenient, certainly won't be returning to the cobblers in Level at Dubai Mall, now their pricing was beyond outrageous and no better job done than at Minutes if I'm honest.

Sorry, I'm confused! I know al thanks road from jumeirah beach road after burj al arab Yes that's correct, so from Beach Rd, you would turn right onto Al Thanya St, go straight over at Al Wasl and then the Waitrose is just up on the right hand side, you need to take the first service rd after you've gone over Al Wasl though, to make the entrance int W/rose.

Al Thania Street. If your on SZR going towards Dubai, just before MOE there's a turn off which takes you to a petrol station & McDonalds. Take that road off and head towards Al Wasl Road. The Waitrose is on your left so you just do a U turn at the lights when you get to Al Wasl. It's always quiet as well. Not meaning to be pernickety, but the turn off before MOE is if you are on SZR heading towards Abu Dhabi. Wouldn't want the OP or anyone else ending up in Barsha or G&D Park :-)

I used a specialist shoe repairers called NDust recently, they are based in Barsha, opposite Lulu's. I'd had the misfortune of ripping the leather up the heels of some brand new shoes on decking and they repaired the leather as best they could. Short of sending the shoes back to the manufacturer (which would be an absolute faff as I had the shoes shipped from Netaporter) for total heel replacement, I think they did a pretty good job. They have a website too, www.ndustshoes.com. There's also a cobblers who deals with high end shoe repairs in Dubai Mall in Level Shoe District, very pricey though, AED 170 for heel tips and half sole protectors last time I used them.

We had a similar thing when renewing our contract last year. We are in JLT too and the building switched over to PDC, so the LL said he would keep rent the same, but we would need to bear the chiller charges as each apt is now metered. We agreed and actually, the charges are OK, however, we pay direct to PDC and so we get the bills and pay based on our own consumption.

Hmmm, my friend was told completely different directions. Which is why I've asked. She was told to go right into Hessa st from SZR, onto Al Khail road, through festival city, into rebat street and through the airport tunnel. That's a really long way round and depending on the time of day, ie late afternoon/early evening, airport tunnel in that direction gets mobbed. As Izzy said, SZR, over Garhoud Bridge and follow the signs is the easiest way. However, if travelling late afternoon/early evening, it will be busy.

Hi Ladies, I am in the process of redesigning our residence and this is most dreadful as I do not possess a gift for interior design at all! As we moved here hew years back I have put together a space from bits from back home and few Ikea items. Today I feel that is time to revamp our home but I am lost! I called few companies for Design and the fees are absurd! So if there is anyone out there that can help me for a reasonable price please let me know! I have a friend who has recently set up in this, as it's a new business, I think you'll benefit from excellent fees I'm sure. She's based in Dubai. Hi Flames I did try and reply again last night, but every time I tried to post, the EW site kept kicking me out - the iPad only narrowly missed taking a long fall from the balcony. Anyhoo, as Blondie says, it's a lovely place; as for the shades lighter, the dentist does show you examples of teeth colours, what you are and what you will be, which is only max 2 shades I think. For me, I was more interested in the scale and polish, I have pretty white teeth anyway, so difficult to tell, but OH and his daughter both did it too and they did look whiter, albeit not bling white. As Blondie pointed out, the Zoom is more noticeable, but that's because it uses peroxide and you cannot do it again for at least 12 months, whereas, with this one, whilst you may not go "white white" per se, it is kinder to your teeth, hence you are able to do it every few months. The price is cheap because they are building a client base I guess, in fact it was my birthday last week and they sent me an e-mail with birthday wishes and as a birthday treat 80% off some treatements, which can be used for up to 6 months, so I'm booking in again for 6 months time. Oh and no, there were no extra charges. HTH.

Just wondering whether its worth going there. Everyone seems to be raving about them and I doubt whether they are real people. Hi Flames, I'm real :-) I took the offer a few weeks ago and was very pleased with them. The dentist was very thorough on the scale and polish, she spent a long time doing that (she had her work cut out, it's a few years since I've been to the dentist) and she did an excellent job. The teeth whitening was also fine, they don't use peroxide, it's a much less potent product, so don't go expecting Hollywood bling, which was fine for me as I didn't want to end up looking like Ross from friends..... The environment is lovely and relaxing as well, I whole-heartedly recommend them.

Its funny how you may not have heard a certain song for over 30 years, but when you hear one randomly, can still remember all the words. As for the smell of my mum, I think I could probably go through them by decade :-) Must de Cartier, First (Van Cleef & Arpels), Chanel no 5, Bulgari, Chanel Allure. All of which make me smile and have to hunt them out when in the perfume section (albeit I do C no 5 myself now). What a lovely thread to bring back happy memories.

Thanks Ladies for confirming what I thought. It really was a bolt from the blue, we've been very good tenants (even though we do say so ourselves) and I never thought it would happen to us. But, he's thinking he can probably get an additional 40K instead of less than 10, which is what the rental calculator says. The only dilemma now is, do we bite the bullet and try and find somewhere else now, which aggrieves me somewhat, or, when we have to find somewhere at the end of next year, if the bubble doesn't burst, will we end up having to fork out even more rent than we would if we moved now??? Oh, what a kerfuffle.

I have twice recently visited a new dentist in JLT (Saba 1) called La Clinique ME and found them very good, I had a scale and polish on the first visit and a filling on the second and was very happy with the lady dentist, the clinic is also very nice. The great thing was that as they are new, they are discounting their services, my filling only cost 450 dhs. I think they have a facebook page, unfortunately at work I cannot access this, so can't provide a link, but have a look if you can - La Clinique ME.

Were you dunking too? If it were a few weeks ago, without a shadow of a doubt, you can't not dunk in tea.
