Hello, I just moved in to Dubai with my husband and baby son, I've been looking for a bilingual nursery to enroll my son in because I want him to learn both French and English. Does any one have any idea if there is such a nursery around? I believe Blossoms is bilingual. The Cardinal Valley Jumeirah is also multilingual.

we visited Blossoms and their spaces are extremely small, I do not understand it is accepted by authorities to put children in such small spaces. I completely agree. I visited Kangaroo and wasn't impressed by their facilities either. The issue is that in downtown, there are no big, spacious nurseries with outdoor play areas. My husband suggested looking at Al Safa area in Jumeirah - it's just across the flyover from downtown so not too much of a drive. The nurseries are big, very big outdoor gardens, lots of sunlight in the classrooms - much more child friendly in my opinion. We are looking at JINS and the Cardinal Valley in Al Safa. JINS is a bit too cramped/old style, Cardinal Valley has very impressive facilities and staff. Check them both out, might be an option for you.

Thank you for yor reply. My LO will be 21 months in September . Isn't Babilou a french curriculum nursery? As i am planning to put my LO in a British curriculum one. i think you might be right - Babilou is a French curriculum one. I think for preschool, you should check where the teachers are from (even if it's French curriculum, they might have British teachers), and what assessment tools the nursery uses to track the child's progress. I spoke to The Cardinal Valley Nursery recently - it's a new one opening in September. They have a world curriculum, which they claim draws from the strengths of all curriculum to develop a more holistic approach. But the assessment tools the lady described to me sounded amazing. Facilities look incredible too.

I've been looking for a US based program myself for my daughter, turning 2, and son turning 4. The only impressive one I have come across so far is The Cardinal Valley (www.thecardinalvalley.com). It's in the Safa/Jumeirah 3 area. They are opening this September - spoke to the representative on the phone - looks like they're bringing a lot of curriculum and teaching resources from Stanford University. Facilities look very impressive too - they have a splash pad! They explained to me that their curriculum is a world curriculum, where the holistic development of the child is focused on (sounds similar to Avenues in NYC to me - the one which Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' daughter attends). Let me know if you get a chance to check them out! Good luck!
