I have now successfully completed the process of getting my smartcard (chip) and egate card..... Procedure is just as northernstar says below, EXCEPT it's the opposite order for doors..... GATE 3 FIRST, straight to green machines at back to have fingerprints, photo and iris scan then to Gate 2, office at back for F ticket, wait for your number to pay and hand in RP then wait about another 10 minutes for new one and take it back to Gate 3 machines to be activated. I should say I also took with me a form in arabic from PRO and photocopy of passport and visa. Also new smartcard RP has the photo they take of you that day.

Thank you, it has now all become clear, my new RP was issued without the chip..... I now know I need to change this at immigration office, in the mornings only, and have egate pass activated on it. Anyone suggest best time for queues, parking etc. please?

Thanks Deb, that's what I thought, last time I got it at the airport but I understand there's no office there now even though Qa.gov still tells you to go to airport!!!

Can anyone please recommend a good cleaning company who would send two or three cleaners to clean large outside balcony area and windows......... I normally use Gulf Union but they are short staffed and unable to do it in the near future.. Thanks

The group who usually meet at 10 am in Starbucks at Landmark are changing venue for the next few weeks. To make the most of the cooler weather we thought it would be nice to sit outside so this week are meeting at Caffe Vergnano on The Pearl. It is just a short walk along to the left of the main entrance....hope to see you all there.
