Pretty much the entire Dispatches range is good...think it was BBC but if you just Google Dispatches UK it should show up. Also love One Born Every Minute, the UK one in particular. Very nicely made, both interesting and deeply emotional! If you look on the website TV.com it usually tells you what is running at present

Entirely depends on you and what kind of things you like. I thought it was good, not great...definitely don't regret seeing it! The "I Dreamed a Dream" sequence with the live singing was emotional, that bit stuck with me in particular. DH leaned over about an hour in and said "is it going to be all singing, the whole way through?". Yes dear :) *eye roll* I can imagine my OH would say the same so i will go on my own ( New experience for me)

My husband the same years of experience and well qualified for the job, seems like they can always find someone cheaper to do a job here though so maybe that's the problem. I dont see many of those roles now but if i do come across any i will give you a shout

I went with my gf. I have watched both Les Mis and Mamma Mia on Broadway and I have watched both movies. The experiences were just different. I won't say it's a great movie as Russel Crowe and Hugh Jackman's singing were quite excruciating but I enjoyed the movie nevertheless. Tears still flow ;-) Thanks i have seen the above two also I do like Hugh Jackman aswell hehe

Lately I have been watching quite a few documentaries (mostly on my ipad via youtube) but have run out of things to watch. Any recommendations? I like human interest. So far I watched Stictly K*sher, pregnant in America, Food Inc, Mugabe and the white African and some series about bouncers in the Uk. TIA!! Was the bouncers one in Wales, i believe it was cancelled straight after the first episode! I have just watched a 3 parter about Queen Victoria's children it was very interesting

Hi, New to Dubai and would like to know how you find a reliable bbabysitter here.Is there an agency or is it all private? What do you pay a babysitter?.My girls are 4 and 7y old. Would mainly be evenings , so me and hubbie could go out to a decent restaurant without worryng if they have chicken nuggets on the menu ;-) Thanks x Agencies only Private ones are illegal I dont but i am sure the OP will be able to advise, if you use the search bar at the top and put in the word babysitter you may find threads there on recommendations

i am a vegetarian who has recently started cooking non veg for my dh. now i want to start for ds...i know that in fish i can give sole, flounder and chicken breasts and turkey thighs. do i need to look for something specific when buying for baby? i always get the fresh ones from spinneys. is it fine to bring that same only for him? so far he was on organic fruits and vegetables but when i went back to home country organic wasn't easily available. after returning here i have continued with the local produce rather then organic. I would think so, my Sister weaned her Kids around that age and they ate the same food we did and loved it. Organic wasnt that sought after back then

I used to go to Ignite on Palm Jumeirah which I think is good but now they put prices up to 700 AED per month which I don't think its justified. Would you recommend any other bootcamp close to Palm Jumeirah Have you tried Cicruit Factory my friends swear by it, they have outlets at the meadows and Al Quoz

didn't really want comments like this. we are expecting the 3rd baby and can't really afford new can at the moment, in Europe is allowed by law, just wanted to know if it is allowed here. But surely if it's dangerous you'd rather know so you can do your best to have your baby as safe as possible? What sort of car do you have? I can fit three seats across in both our cars. You might need to try out different seats but can hopefully find some to fit. Other posters on here have mentioned 'slimfit' seats, maybe another poster can recommend. I thought it was illegal now to have a baby in the front seaet in the UK

It's dangerous for an adult to sit in the front seat? I've heard emergency services in NZ refer to the front passenger seat as the 'suicide seat'. Evidently (I've never actually researched this myself) it's position in the car makes it the most likely seat for serious injury or death to occur in. Surely the drivers seat would be the same ( only difference is the steering wheel i suppose)

Do they not have to be a certain age/height/weight to be allowed Yes, I think it's 10, but that aside, it is very dangerous for anyone, child or adult. It's dangerous for an adult to sit in the front seat?

My husband is an expert in what happens in car crashes. He says it is extremely dangerous to have your baby in the front seat. In the automotive safety industry, the passenger seat is known as the 'death seat' as it is the most dangerous place to be in the even of an accident. Do they not have to be a certain age/height/weight to be allowed

Children used to leave school in May - they were either 16 or would be 16 by the 1st Sept. Many students would return to sixth form or go onto colleges or into the job market. I believe the govt has changed things this year so that it is mandatory for kids to stay on at school. I guess this will do a lot for lowering UK unemployment figures but not sure how the schools will cope as many of these teenagers are more than ready to leave by the time they reach 16...sad reality. My nephew is doing his A Levels at college as he didnt want to stay on at school so they have that option

I've never been able to unsubscribe either. Worst is when they send promotion texts in the middle of the night. It's not just the sleep interruption, it's the fleeting worry as people don't generally call late with good news. I have a spare phone because of that, all my family members have the spare phone number so i can turn my day to day one off so i dont get disturbed

It doesn't confuse them. It's not said in place of the name, more at certain times. Ie ok, mummy (in the baby like voice), put your shoes on But then they'll be called their name most of the time. Same as calling them pumpkin, they don't grow up thinking they're a pumpkin :D But isnt your Mummy your Mother? i wouldnt call my children Mummy as i am their Mummy Pumpkin i understand :-) They definitely don't get confused. Like AmyAus82 said, its used in replacement of "darling", "pumpkin", "sweetie". They very much know what you refer to, as the tone is different. It's a hard one to get your head around I think, without speaking the language, because it is peculiar. Plus, when I speak to my kids in English I don't do it. :-)

pick carefully. some of the older clinics eg Al Zahra don't use the most up to date techniques. I found this out the hard way when I had a negative reuslt from them one month, felt something wasn't right, went to the Dubai London Clinic, and then had a positive. They use much more up to date equipment and techniques. I recommend DR Anna Sepiolo at Dubai London Clinic in Jumeirah. She is wonderful. I agree with Kelly the first gynae i saw here back in 2006 asked lots of personal questions, why wasnt i married/didnt have children etc her bedside manner was shocking. Dr Andrea on Al Wasl is good

I did mention to my DH that the phones need to be registered, he seemed to think that we wouldnt have to as we registered our passport when we bought the sim cards. Where can I find out the actual facts.... Most of us had to give our passports over when we bought our sim cards Your passport copy would of been used only to prove you were a resident here That does not necessarily mean it is registered Registration is a new thing and we should all get SMS's advising when we need to do this

No, assuming it is a renewable contract, she can't raise the rent (as per the calculator) and she can't kick her out. She needs to hold firm and tell the landlord to raise the issue with the rent committee if she doesn't agree; they will inform her the same. However, the landlord may retaliate by issuing 12 months' notice to move out with the new contract, so if your friend wishes to stay for longer than another year, it may be in her interests to negotiate a compromise (say, a 5% increase). Thank you so much

Council Tax Update - FYI from April 2013, the ctax is changing, it will not matter if a property is left empty or not, full ctax is payable on every property, the councillors are ending the ctax exemptions to raise more revenue Thanks Rowellian...I hadn't heard that one. I didnt know that either so thank you

Hello This has been done to death however my friends tenancy contract is due to end in a month. The LL tried to say over the phone 2 weeks ago that she wanted to increase the rent ( The RERA calculator advises that an increase is not due) My friend said you cannot increase as i spoke with RERA and an increase isnt due. The LL said this isnt true and i am increasing. My friend didnt get 3 months notice in writing to change the contract and what she wants to know is can the LL kick her out and where does she stand Thank you

My youngest has never had antibiotics that I can recall and my elder one did, but becasue of very severe tonsillitis that culminated in her getting them removed. I'm with desert rose on this one! Motherhood is way too complicated now! I didn't even know anyone goes to a paediatrician for this kind of thing anyway...why not just use a GP? And only then if necessary; my DD hasn't been to the doctor for years though. I'm pretty sure every mum on this forum only takes her child to a doctor if it's necessary :) it's hardly a lot of fun :) To be fair some mothers are more anxious than others, and their threshhold for taking child to a doctor (of whatever nature) is different. Nobody would go if they didn't think it necessary, but what they think necessary may not be the same. The paediatrician thing is normal in some places with very commercialised medicine, eg the US - a child would have a paed instead of a GP. People probably follow what they are used to. Completely agree with you there. I am originally from Lithuania and my mum used to take me to doctors every time I would get a fever and would be getting a set of antibiotics each time. My mum knows everything about medication and used to be able to go to chemists and get some prescription drugs without the prescription :O My sister still lives there and she is exactly the same. I think this sort of approach depends not only on how anxious mothers are, but also where they are from. To be fair expectant Mums in Germany expect to be given lots of drugs for things such as morning sickness etc wheras other countries will not prescribe. I just feel that over prescribing antibiotics does not work and children become immune to them
